posted a message on Rush warrior

Rush Control is one of the best, if not the best control deck right now.

    Against the current meta decks:

Pretty much wrecks Paladins, all types. Rush mechanic puts bodies on board to let you fight for it. Tank Up gives you the armor to survive long enough to get Reckless Flurry off. Plenty of taunts in there to protect you along the way.

Destroys Odd Rogue. Use Rush or Slam to take out the Thugs, your hero power beats their upgraded weapon.

Face hunter. Kinda the same as Odd rogue. Your Tank Up just out paces their Ballista Shot, and Rush, Slam, and Flurry allow you to keep the board.

Cubelock. Its a toss up. Easy to handle the giants, will get away from you if they get too many Doomguards. But, that pretty much applies to any deck out there right now. Honestly, I am not seeing a lot of cubelock right now, because everything else is countering it.

Rin Control Lock. This one is fun! Azalina Soulthief is a blast with this one. Wait until about the 3rd or 4th seal, and swap hands, and give them a taste of their own medicine. If you are lucky, you will get Gul'Dan in there as well.

Face Mage. Easy win. Keep their minions out of your face, and mash that Tank Up. They just don't have enough burn in the deck to get around the armor.

Spitefuls. Depends on when they play their Summoner, and what they get. Tyrantus on Turn 6 is tough. Usually dont have enough armor built up by then to flurry them down. But, if you make it about Turn 8, you probably got it.

Hadronox Druid. Fairly easy. Use Tinkmaster if they hang Hadronox out. Get a Cornered Sentry from your Stonehills to mess up their Witching Hour.

Quest Rogue. Concede. Don't even bother.

Mind Blast Priest. Easy win. Tank Up ...

So far, I am about 65% win rate with the deck through about 30 games or so. Biggest drawback is it is slow. like all control decks. But it's pretty damn consistent. You will generally win the games you are supposed to win, and if you can win 40% of the bad matchups, you will climb.

You just have to stop netdecking and stop playing aggro decks. That's all

Definitely the best possible advice right here. All those refined netdecks out there, and those worthless Paladin decks are useless for laddering. If you really care about your rank, the best advice is to homebrew a control deck. That will send you shooting up the ladder like a boss.

Bruh you misplayed so hard and got lucky. If you had played Tinkmaster Overspark instead of Shield Slam you would have won instantly.

Yeah, I didn't know the deck. The whole time I was playing, I was expecting Alex + 3 Mind Blast. When Velen popped up, I just hit Slam out of habit. I have seen the deck before, but not recently.

Sometimes it does pay to be lucky. :-)

You also misplayed your last turn.

Instead of fiery war axe + tank up, you should've played barron geddon which would've made him draw 2 cards due to the thalnos and loot hoarder which would've resulted in 3 + 4 + 5 = 12 fatigue damage (and lethal).

Yeah, I caught that one too. Even worse, I saw it, and then thought myself out of it.

Gotta be about the most damage you could take in a single turn from hand ... and to survive and win is even more nuts.

I'm sure its not a record of any type, but it's the most I have seen outside of Quest Mage.

(Turn 18 if you want to skip ahead)

Aggro mage with no Aluneth will be a disappointment. You will find yourself burning your opponent down to 10 health, and then running out of gas. Without the weapon, it just becomes dependent on card draw, where with it, you pretty much know if you draw your weapon (and it sticks 2 turns), you probably won the match.

posted a message on Turn 3 Mage. Amazing

Tempo Mage is a stronger deck than some think. The Keysmiths really added some dimension to deck that was missing before. It still has the ability to have some crazy openers, and just melt face ... but it also now can use minions to fight for a board as well, depending on your opponent.

Druids are tough, but with really, REALLY good draw can still be beat, and it's the only thing I know of that takes out Quest Rogue consistently.

I wonder how that guy reached Legend withiout Keleseth. I got kind of stack (with low win rate) at Rank 10 last season with Spiteful Druid.  Played about 8-12 games at Rank 10 without reaching Rank 9.

If I had to guess, he probably got there earlier in the season. The power of Spiteful Druid seemed like it caught a lot of people off guard early on, but later in the season, most decks were prepared to deal with it.

    I actually disagree.

Keleseth does not make or break Spiteful Druid. It is a win-more card. Now if this guy actually had Keleseth, and chose to use an extra Wild Growth, that would be a pretty ridiculous think to do. But choosing not to craft it ... to each their own.

I cannot think of a single game (and Lord knows I saw plenty of them last season), where I was able to effectively deal with the minions pulled from Spiteful's, but still lost ... regardless if Keleseth was played or not.

Who says taunt druid is a bad matchup? :-)

As mentioned ... USE YOUR MINIONS!!!! I have won several "unwinnable" matchups, not with the spells, but with the minions.

Great deck. I have been experimenting with Antonidas in the deck. So far, he has maybe made the difference in one match. If nothing else, he gives you an extra Fireball, and becomes a "must-remove" body on board. If you can stick him for one turn, he is almost a guaranteed win.

posted a message on The Winning Strategy [Zoolock to Legend]

Not in this meta ... not for me anyway.

Just cant fight for a board against the damn Paladins. One turn you think you are gaining ground, and 2 turns later, all your minions are gone, and they have a board full of 5/5 taunts. When they can do that ... standard rules don't apply. Weapon into a Sea Giant ... sure, why not? As long as someone "Reports for duty!"

But, I do think its a good zoo deck. I just can't make zoo work this time around. Everything is a wall of taunt, or a wall of super dudes.

posted a message on Is there a way to beat hadronox druid?

I have good luck against them with Big Spell Mage. The 2 sheep from polymorph messes up their Witching Hour, and I keep a silence just in case, so they can't cube Hadronox, if they do get him back.

The big removals are good for chewing through the 2 sets of taunts that you cant avoid (original drops, and the first Hadronox  / Naturalize reset).

Eventually, you can run them out of resources, and take them out with either Alanna, or just grinding them out with water elementals.

I am not sure what the "standard" Big Spell Mage list runs, but I run 2 Rotten Applebaum in mine, which gives me some decent big bodies to deal with their big guys, as well as 2 Stonehill Defenders. I always try to save these for removal, and don't worry about early damage, the win comes when they run out of resources.

posted a message on Taunt Druid or Quest Rogue?

IMHO, Quest rogue is just a high roll deck. When it works, it works amazing. But when the cards don't come like you want, the deck is pure garbage, and will lose to a bot.

Most decks are running a lot of silence, transform, and weapon destruction right now ... all of which wreck Tirion.
