    Final Update:

    250 packs opened.

    Missing"
    Stargazer Luna
    Myra Rotspring
    Myra's Unstable Element
    Subject 9

    Still missing a few epics.

Have 12915 dust, so should be able to complete all the playable cards with no problem, and maybe all the cards total. Still have 2000 gold if needed.

All in all .. not the best opening I have had, but far from the worst.

I built a deck around the new warlock cards Soul Infusion and Crystallizer and it brought me from rank 5 to rank 4 with only a single loss. I was a bit disappointed to see mostly old decks tho, but this will change soon.

Does anyone else but me look at this decklist (that doesn't speak German), and just start laughing out loud as you try to read the card names? Or, maybe I have just had way to much caffeine today.

Another milestone!  The premature 'it's weak' thread.  I get that the OP didn't set out to be 'that guy' but sometimes success is a surprise. Congratulations nonetheless.

He should have went for the parlay, and demanded something be nerfed as well.

Looks like my pack opening luck ran a little dry this time around, so far at least.

    133 packs.

    Golden Mech'aThun
    Golden Flark's Boom-Zooka
    Dr. Morrigan
    ^^^ Guaranteed Cards from Pre-orders^^^

Ended up with 5 Leg's from packs themselves.

    Flark
    Floop
    Zerek
    Zilliax
    Electra

Actually hit the pity timer on the last pack, with intervals of 34, 33, 16, and 7 (guaranteed first 10).

Compared to previous expansions, this is pretty bad, but I do still have 100 more packs to open from gold, so we will see how that goes tonight.

(Still at work, and don't have Innkeeper, so no clue how I came out on non legendary cards. Will have to wait until I get home to see)

EDIT*** Had a little better luck with the next batch. 40 packs bought with gold, 4 Legendary cards.

    Whizbang
    Kangor
    Zerek, Master Cloner
    Stormbringer.

It is a common problem with large apps and phones. The phone will not uninstall the old app until the new one is downloaded, resulting in using up a lot of storage. I have an old 16GB ipad that has this problem every update. I just have to uninstall and reinstall every time.

posted a message on So... no counter to Shudderwock ? are you okay with this ?

Played around with this deck over the weekend, and had some interesting results.

First ... it's not a bad deck overall. With about 40 games or so played, I had a 57% win rate.

The deck is almost instant win against Token and Taunt druid. It is quite strong against Odd Rogue as well. With good luck on the draw, it does well against Odd Paladin.

What was surprising ... disappointing actually, is that I only won 1 out of 5 against Shudderwock. To be fair, I was intentionally trying to get the Azilina combo off, and I know at least 1 of those games I would have won if I wasn't stalling for the combo. The biggest problem I was running into was my opponent had a full hand (usually full of Hagatha spells) when they finally played their first Shudderwock. The one good shot I had, I didn't have Bring It On! in hand, so I couldn't go infinite on armor, and their second round was able to beat me down.

There is a direct counter, and it is warrior :)

    You need following cards:

    Drywhisker Armorer

    Cornered Sentry

    Seaforium Bomber

    Azalina Soulthief

After opponent played SW you play Azalina, copy his deck and start play your own 1 mana SW. Now you are getting much more armor than he can drain and placing really a lot of damage inside his deck.

Actually you can fit this pack into any control warrior deck, this cards are really not so bad by itself.

Azalina will not give you 1 mana Shudderwocks ... you get them at 9 mana.

I thought the same thing (and still think it is how it "should" work, and added her to my Quest Priest deck. With 40 health, and usually some armor, it's pretty easy to survive round 1, but near impossible to survive round 2, so having them at 9 mana screws that idea completely.

Not after the change, after the change they will be 1 mana.

I saw the changes (Kripp's video), but thought they had already taken effect. Tested it again just yesterday I think, and still got a handful of 9 mana Shudder's.

If it does change it, then Azlina will become a really viable counter. Most any control deck can benefit from Zola, Chaingang, and Lifedrinker, and with those 3 cards played, and usually 3-4 1 mana shudderwoks, you can flip the game pretty quick

@NightCrawl3r Thanks for the guide, but are you sure that's legal? Isn't giving out fake information like that an address fraud?

"legal" ... yes. You aren't breaking any law doing it.

Against the TOS of Blizzard, Hearthstone, Google, and your Credit Card ... yes. Probably breaking the rules with all of them.

That being said, exploiting currency rates for Google Play store purchases has been around forever, and I personally have ran over $100,000 (yes, that number is correct, over $100k) worth of payments using this method, and never have had an issue.

Blizz probably doesn't even see the transaction nor would they care if they did), because it gets converted back to USD when they get paid. I think Google either just doesn't care, or just ignores it because so many people do it.

posted a message on Meta statistics

So last month I finally spent the money and got the Premium service on HRSReplay. But now I am questioning if it is worth anything.

According to their 1 Day Meta stats, at Rank 10,:

9.38% of games played were Zoo Warlock
    6.88% were Shudderwock
    5.9% were Even Warlock
    5.05% were Odd Rogue

Out of 17 games played today, I have not faced a single one of these decks. Not one.

I have played 6 druids, most being Taunt
    4 Paladin
    4 hunters
    3 Shaman, all Even.

Not real sure I am going to renew my subscription when it is over.

Baku CW, but not the one uses tons of taunts and the quest, it is one of my favorite decks right now.

The upgraded hero power keep you alive, for treats use Ysera, Elise and the beast put 6/9 in your deck, it is not the best deck right now but a least you kick the aggro asses all day. :P

I may take a stab at a Baku Warrior again. I messed around with one using the Rush package right after WW release, and it wasn't bad, If nothing else, it's almost guaranteed win against Taunt Druid.

posted a message on Control Problems

Is anyone having success playing a control deck right now in the 10-6 bracket?

I am just not a fan of playing aggro (or aggro / midrange) decks. I just like the playstyle of trying to shut down opponents threats, and either winning by attrition, or with an OTK / TTK.

Usually I can find or build some kind of control deck that will at least get me past Rank 5, but this season, I am having no lock at all. I can get most common decks to right around a 50% win rate, but that is it. I don't have too much trouble with the more midrange decks, but I just seem to be getting wrecked by the really fast aggro decks like Zoolock. The one exception being paladin, just because they are easy enough to stabilize against with AoE.

Decks I have tried so far are:

Quest Priest. Actually have decent luck with this deck (54% win rate), but to be honest, I have been playing it since last season, and am burned out on it.

Taunt Druid. Too many decks running Geist, or warriors with the Sentry, or just getting smashed before I can stabilize. Deck started strong, but has really fizzled out lately.

Control Warlock. Nerf bat really hurts with this one. Tough to even stay alive long enough to get the Void Daddies in play.

Big Spell Mage. Kinda in the same boat as Quest Priest. Has a barely reasonable win rate, but it's just an old deck. Seems like I played it 2 seasons ago.

Anyway ... anyone have any ideas? Or is it just time to suck it up and just go face? <ugh>

posted a message on Increasing use of The Wussy Move

I concede for two reasons ... to get on to my next game, and so my opponent doesn't feel the need to play 7 cards, when I am at 1 HP and have no minions on board. I will however, usually stick around for an OTK, because I know the feeling of having set them up, only to have your opponent concede kinda sucks.

posted a message on Activision-Blizzard has gone too far with the Mega Bundle
    Quote from Dr_Scaphandre >>

They’re gonna milk this game as much as possible until Artifact and Gwent 1.0 comes out aren’t they? It was bad enough that they were charging $50 to preorder loot boxes, but now there’s a second preorder option, the Mega Bundle.

For those who don’t know, the regular preorder bundle is $50, and comes with 50 cardpacks, the Mecha-Jaraxxus cardback, and a free golden legendary card.

Now the Mega Bundle on the other hand is $80! What do you get for 80? You still get the cardback and golden legendary, but instead of 50 cardpacks you get 80, as well as an alternate Warlock hero portrait: Mecha-Jaraxxus.

That’s it. That’s all you get. For $30 more dollars you get a few more glorified loot boxes and a skin. $80 for a hero portrait, and it’s one that the majority of people will want too. This is beyond ridiculous. For two years they have been offering hero portraits for free where we had to do something to get them, like play WoW, or go to a Fireside Gathering, or beat Frozen Throne. They were all great. But now, they’ve locked a skin of a very popular character behind a $80 preorder paywall, that once the expansion launches you can’t get it anymore. They also said there are no plans to rerelease Mecha-Jaraxxus, so anyone who wanted to get that skin are out of luck.

I cannot fathom how ludicrous this is. $80 and all they’re offering is a skin, a skin that is highly popular. I know why they did it too, because they know people love Jaraxxus so they made him an expensive preorder bonus.

I beg you, do not buy this Mega Bundle. Vote with your wallet. Show ActiBlizz this is too far and horribly anti-consumer.

    EDIT

So there's been a lot of the same comments in this thread just boggle my mind. There are people actually defending this awful bundle. So I'm gonna address every frequent comment that I've been seeing.

    • It's a good deal! 80 packs for $80!

First of all, it's asinine to even preorder loot boxes to begin with, but on face value, $80 for 80 packs does sound good when usually the preorders are 50 packs for $50. However, all that became null and void when the Witchwood came out. Witchwood's preorder wasn't the usual 50 packs for $50, it was 70 packs! The moment they did that bundle, a bundle a lot of people loved might I add, it makes the other preorder bundles look like shit in comparison.

Not only that, but $80 for what is ultimately a preorder for loot boxes is absurd. You know what could be done with $80? You could get a shitload of Steam games, games that are not on sale, right now, and still have money left over. You could get two $40 Nintendo Switch games. Ultimately, $80 for 80 packs is pretty crazy. 100 packs or more would've been better, or maybe include some more Golden Legendaries. Speaking of...

    • But you get a Golden Legendary in the Mega Bundle, which becomes any Legendary you want!

You also get one in the normal $50 preorder as well, making that part of the bundle ultimately irrelevant.

    • The hero portrait is ugly anyway!

Okay, what does that have to do with it? That's pretty subjective.

    • You're not entitled to the hero portrait anyway!

Ah yes, the classic "entitled" argument. The ultimate strawman of any shill when they can't think of any else to say.

    • Who cares? It's just cosmetic

Then why do Casinowatch loot boxes sell like hotcakes? Why did people make a big deal about Nemsy? Guess it's not "just cosmetic" or else people wouldn't give a shit about them. Cosmetics are fun, they let people look differently, and that's why people like them. But besides, that, is for the past two years we were getting this shit for free. When the $10 hero portraits weren't selling, Actiblizz gave them out for free instead as rewards, and people really liked that. Now we have a hero portrait that is locked behind a limited time $80 preorder paywall, so once the preorder is gone that hero portrait cannot be earned anymore. They know people really want Mecha-Jaraxxus since Jaraxxus is one of the most popular Hearthstone characters, and people want Warlock portraits, so they made him a preorder incentive. GET HIM BEFORE HE'S GONE FOREVER!

The argument ultimately is more about the fact the hero portrait is locked to the $80 preorder. I could make the argument all day that it's a waste to preorder loot boxes and how the Mega Bundle is not so Mega, but the fact of the matter is a hero portrait is locked behind a steep preorder paywall. Why is that a big deal? Because we've been getting them for free for the past two years, and if people buy this (Which most likely they will judging from the comments I'm seeing here and on Reddit) then ActiBlizz will start doing more of these "Mega Bundles." Hero portraits will become locked to preorders and we won't get them for free anymore, for these bundles will make so much money, and because people didn't stop and say "no."

    EDIT 2

    Here we go again...

    • But you can buy both the Mega Bundle and regular preorder and get TWO Golden Legendaries!

...do you even understand how absurd your comment is? You’re spending $130 to  preorder loot boxes twice. What the fuck is wrong with you?

    • OP stop bitching and get a job! Who can’t afford $80?

Money is not an issue I assure you. It’s not about who has the money to buy the bundle. It’s about a sense of worth. Myself and many others personally don’t find the Mega Bundle worth $80, especially since they’re locking a hero portrait to it when we used to get them for free.

    • Well I’m gonna buy it anyway

And these were the comments I were looking for. The comments who support the toxicity of preorder culture without giving it a second thought, then bitch when they get terrible legendaries. These are the true Blizzshills, the ones who are loyal to the brand and will defend it tooth and nail. And the funny thing is they’re paying to be shills, trying to make their ludicrous investment worth it. I suggest you watch this video by the late Totalbiscuit on why preordering (even if it offers a slightly better deal) is always a terrible idea.

You know what could be done with $80?

Yeah, it would have paid for a little over half of my bar tab from last weekend.

posted a message on Suggestion for Blizzard: Mini-Bundle

Chevrolet needs to make a mini-Corvette. I would really like to have a Corvette, but don't want to pay $80,000. So maybe they could make a Corvette with just a 4 cylinder engine, and no fancy electronics. That way I could drive around a look like I spent $80,000 on a car, but only spent $10,000.

^^^^ My smartass way of saying that not everyone is entitled to cosmetic goodies. The hero skin was a perk of buying the more expensive bundle.
