Well they should alse nerf Quest Priest.

You can have all the armour in the world and 8 minions on your side but they can't stop 'you lose' button.

Regardless of the actual Quest Priest winrate.

Agree that the Shard is an uninteractive win condition, but you have at least 10 turns in the game to interact and beat Priest before they reach to their win condition.....

What about all these uninteractive OTK combo decks? Most likely you will die before even finding win condition, strategies and reaching more than 10 turns to play...

It's even worse than that, because Priest as a class can't even guarantee they draw the win condition in those ten turns without sacrificing the tools to stay alive. Reaching turn ten at all is hard, but most of the time it's pointless even if you do.

You can stop them in one simple step: Kill them.

If Standard would slow down by just one turn - it will be overwhelmed with Quest Priests.

It's basically control with unavoidable wincon.

Yes you could tech Mutanus. Yes you could tech Neophyte. Still you lose next turn Xyrella is played.

I hate to break it to you, but Quest Priest can't become good in this expansion. No matter what nerfs they do. The problem isn't just that they will die because doing 30 damage is trivial - this much is true - but quest priest also doesn't have even a fraction of the efficient card draw it needs to do any of this reliably in under 15 turns. It's only an unavoidable wincon in the type of meta where Archivist was played. We're not in a 40 turn meta though. We're not even in a 10 turn meta. You can't slow down *this* meta enough to where Quest Priest is consistent. It's not actually possible in this expansion.

i find it odd that people are suggesting nerfs to support cards to the quests rather than the absurdly broken quests themselves

Mainly because the quests aren't inherently broken powerful. Quest Hunter in Wild would be unplayable if not for being supported by the Odd-archetype and having Rapid Fire and Aimed Shot being odd cards. How do we know this? Because it already is unplayable in Standard.

For Wild Quest Hunter, buffing Aimed Shot to 2 mana would funnily enough be an incredible nerf and it would be really funny if they did that. Because the Wild variant only works because it's an odd deck.

It does seem like a bug, but it's an intentional interaction to rescue Maestra. They wanted to do something to make her playable, as it turns out that class specific mulligans are not really a thing.

It's not even a little bit a bug. The card text explicitly says you *are* a different class until you play a rogue card. It doesn't say you *look* like a different class. You *are* a different class.

    Quote from FortyDust >>

The problem is that they keep printing face cards. Piercing shot and Rhino are two of the biggest problem. Rhino might as well have charge cause that's what it's effect pretty much does, it plays control and hits face at the same time, meanwhile, blizz added a bunch of ways to tutor it out, copy it, and buff it. It's the usual problem with the current meta. You can't play something that does nothing when it's played, cause stuff like Rhino kills a minion, hits face, and creates a threat on board that has to be IMMEDIATELY dealt with.

They aren't going to stop giving Hunter cards that hit you in the face. If you think that's a problem, you will never enjoy Hearthstone.

It's also endlessly funny to me that he's complaining about having to interact with the board state in the context of a deck that is explicitly about board interactivity, when we're in a "kill you from hand and play zero minions" meta and Rhinos can't do shit to begin with if you play around them. Rhinos are such a massive non-issue that it's barely even funny, it's mostly just sad.

Face hunter has always been trivial to shut down if you want to shut it down. The issue is that control isn't viable because of the combo decks.

    Quote from YourPersonalGuru >>

I remember in good old MTG you'd just say "I'll repeat this 100 times" and your OTK was on. This was no problems since turn time was not supposed to limit crazy combos in the first place. In HS we don't have the interrupting cards needed to keep OTK's in check, so we need the turn/animation time to limit these decks to some degree.

I think we should either get some proper interruption tools or just not have all these combos that pretty much defies the main idea of the game. We now even have "cheating" software that.... skips animations... Like that's not an option in most games.

It is cheating, no quotation marks necessary. It's really stupid that the game is balanced around the turn limit, but that is in fact the case. It is cheating because the people using the software can do more damage in one turn than people not using that software. It's been this way for a long time in Hearthstone. It was the case for old freeze mage decks, it was the case for APM Priest, and it is the case for ignite mages now. The game is fundamentally unable to deal with the consequences of not having animations, which is definitely bad design but is also a problem they can't really fix now either.

It's also very stupid to compare this situation to the MTG one, when MTG Arena also has the same problem with turn timers and animations dictating what is technically possible and what is technically impossible to do. You can't handwave infinite combos away in Arena either.

They can't make changes to the time limit at this point, neither increase it nor decrease it. Same goes for animation speeds. The game is inherently balanced around the limitations being the exact same as they are right now. It's really fucking dumb, but that's how it is. Know what happens when this breaks? Combo decks can't lose anymore. Cheaters in wild removed the animations and dominated wild with Ignite Mage a while ago as a result.

The ship has sailed on fixing this issue. Trying to change it will break it even more now.

It's probably good for design to have a fast and consistant deck archetype. I wouldn't be surprised if face hunter is one of the main pillars around wich the game is built and designed. It would make sense

It definitely is, yeah. It is *THE* aggro deck, it's never going anywhere, nor should it. As much as people like shitting on face hunter historically, they've always been shut down hard by something. Normally by control. It's obviously a problem that control isn't a viable playstyle atm, but the cause of that is all the combo decks. They've powercrept the amount of card draw and tutoring to insane levels now, it's almost absurd that people are complaining about hunter of all things currently.

Unless you're a wild player. Quest Hunter in wild is cancerous.

Face Hunters are basically saints at this point. What a time to be alive, when the Face Hunter decks are the honest decks that interact the most with the board state, just playing threats and hitting face. I'm being a bit facetious, but the reality is that hunter is a very fair class to play against in Standard. It's nice to see a deck susceptible to counterplay in the year of solitaire.

I do think Battlegrounds has rigging in it.

I think the game is definitely rigged.  You can't watch the opponent's first 4 attacks with AI-like precision dismantle your board doing a 1 in 700 sequence of events several times and come to the "it's just random" conclusion.

    It's clearly not always random.

Do they do this to shorten the games?  To make the games more exciting?

So the important thing is to have Taunts to somewhat suppress the ability of the game to screw you.

You not understanding how random things work is not the same thing as said randomness not existing.

You said Amulet was OP... lol

even though it an end of the deck card, which isn’t always easy to get to, in one turn you may be able to trade it 4-7 times. then play it as a 3 mana, summon  40+ mana worth of minions on the same turn.

Even getting it to three minions by the mid game turn (8-10) , is a 3 mana play 15+ mana worth of minions…. Not to mention the extra 20-40 HP worth of heals and armor that might come with it…

are you saying that isn’t a lot of value for a spell people have 2-4 of during the game????

No because you're dead long before you can even do any of that shit. The value is such a fucking non-issue that it isn't even funny, the thing that's actually causing problems in the actual game is the absurd amount of card draw.

posted a message on What is "Net Deck" ?

Calling people out for netdecking is just a bad excuse because you are salty, People play the decks they want, and people want to win. If you take a suboptimal deck into ranked and keep losing, then it's not your opponents fault.

Totally. The funniest thing about the netdecking conversation is that somehow, good players can make sub-optimal decks and still win a lot with them. Kibler does it all the time. It's almost like the problem isn't just the decks. Dog once hit rank 1 legend with the jankiest Mecha'thun Shaman list you've ever seen.
