I find he works nicely if you toss in Boom so you don't just run a single BGH target, and then call it a day. Ysera so much nicer though for BGH reasons, and I like to play a single Defender of Argus, which he makes too a nice target.
Unfortunately I don't have Ysera and won't for a while, but I love dragons so I've been playing a similar version to this deck. I ended up going with Alex over Nefarian, which has been nice for taking a chunk off the opponents life after playing 8 turns of tempo and board control. Why do you prefer Nefarian?

True dat. It really is a midgame tempo deck, or seems to be from my point of view. I'm hardly a pro player like those names though.

Agreed, Loatheb is kind of out of place. Use Boom.

I never feel I'm hurting for more healing though...

I didn't have Vol'jin or Ysera, so I went Boom and Nefarian for BGH reasons (if you gonna have one big body, have more than one).

I wouldn't. A Priest isn't really hurting for heals.

Agreed, you get 5 mana worth of stats AND +3 damage. He has swung the tempo on turn 5 too many times for me to leave one out.

Not so much a bait, but most people only run one BGH. So if you gonna have one body (Boom) susceptible, then a second won't hurt either.

I want to try both Mystic or Holy Champ, but I already have four 4-drops between the two types of dragons. I can't justify it on the tempo curve...
