RaptorWithWings posted a message on Advanced Duels Guide - With Example Decks And Treasure Tier Lists!Posted in: NewsI didn’t want to add class ranking directly in this guide so that patch notes wouldn’t make editing this a nightmare, but as of right now, I would probably make it
-Warriors, Mages, Paladins
-Shamans, Warlocks, Hunters, Priests
-Demon Hunters, Druids, RoguesThe treasures you draft ultimately decide how far you go, so this Tier list isn’t even concrete “This is better than this”. Every class can beat the others in one way or another.

RaptorWithWings posted a message on Advanced Duels Guide - With Example Decks And Treasure Tier Lists!Posted in: NewsHope this helps! I put a lot of time and effort into it, and is much more detailed than my usual guide. As luck would have it, I also ended up completing my last full run while writing this article just in time to add example 12 win deck lists without leaving out any classes! I’m not saying my way is the best though. Feel free to experiment and build on what you learn through this guide and your own experiences to come up with your own winning strategy!

DoomsayerHS posted a message on Top 5 Duels Moments of the Week - 3Posted in: NewsI've had a lot of satisfying moments in Duels. Now I'll have one more reason to screenshot future ones as well. Thanks RwW!
While we're waiting for that tier-list article, I wanted to share something about how I maximize my Duels enjoyment.
First off, resources/inspiration for deck-building matters, ofc, but because of the random nature of the Passives&Treasures, each run will be different. That's what keeps this mode interesting for me, unlike Standard. That's why I occasionally browse https://hearthstone-decks.net/duels-deck/ for inspiration, but I'm also analytical about each card in a line-up, and will often make changes to spice things up.
Secondly, it's cool that Blizz are doing balance patches to keep the net-decking effect at bay. I hope more ppl feel free to experiment with Heroic(paid) duels, without fear of being mauled by the same few archetypes. Unlike Arena, Duels is meant for those that see ridiculous OP-ness as fun, right? So lean into it and ask yourself "How do I want to break the game today?".Thirdly, Duels is about playing with your Wild cards outside of Wild (and the rare constructed Brawl - I have so many ideas for better brawls!) - but at the same time, if you don't have some Legendary you saw in a 12-win decklist, just analyze its role and figure out a replacement or a similar game plan with the cards you do own! Example: Lyra the Sunshard goes the extra mile: https://hearthstone-decks.net/hearthstone-duels-12-win-priest-dsorrowya-mind-tether-shadow-word-void/
Fourthly: economics v enjoyment. I play once or twice a week quickly completing most quests on all three regions, EU being my main. This allows me to craft fun archetypes on my off-accounts, without feeling any remorse - that's what they exist for. Similarly with Duels, I crafted Prince Malchezaar at the dawn of Duels, when Kilmox + Dark Arts was broken enough to carry just about anything, and I had a LOT of fun discarding crap/expensive legendaries while extracting value from worthy, timely ones. I always play Heroic, even when I meme, coz my time is more valuable than my gold (wasn't the case when I started the two other accounts, as soon as the option was announced) but you can always meme in the free mode if putting gold down is likely to make you sweaty/salty about playing/losing.
Lastly, #5 tip: Cheat-Draft, and Class Selection
We've all been there, scratching our heads at 4 classes that haven't worked out well in the past. "Can I do anything with these?"
The answer is: "You'll need to find out yourself!"
If you're not sure how to build a good duels deck from scratch, just open your Collection, make a wild deck, and throw in around 20-25 cards you think MIGHT work well, either for a specific start (hero power + signature treasure), or in general for the class, then try them out! You'll be surprised how far you can go with a low-rarity low-curve deck that's focused on tempo (with rogue especially), and card draw -- your finishers can come in from the buckets and treasures, just focus on the essentials of deckbuilding for a specific archetype. -

User-4142015 posted a message on Mysteries of the Phoenix - Druid and Hunter Puzzles Solved! - Instructions and Example Decks!Posted in: NewsThat's exactly what it says though.
The format is like this: [NPC] Item 1 >>> Item 2
The first part is the NPC you need to target, the second part is what you need to give them and the third part is what they'll give you in return. -

I definitely 100% did not play the game more to the degree that explains the increase in gold. I would have had to play the game some 20% more. (not counting pass xp)
Blizzard just deliberately shifted to a new way of monetizing the game. They;d rather get $20 dollars on the reward track pass from a very great amount of people than $50 dollars from a far smaller group on preorders. And the Reward track pass is a great deal. It pays for itself in extra gold and then you get all the cosmetics and other stuff on top of it.
And then there's the engagement. If people are more engaged with your game, day to day and week to week, they are far more likely to spend actual money on it.
Blizzard just switched to a better way of getting money out of their game, and in return are more than happy to give away more free stuff, since it only helps to create a system where people are mroe engaged with the game and more likely to spend on it.

I had the same problem. Turns out that you have to follow some very specific steps to create Classic decks in game, if you don;t import a deck list. You can't just easily swap to creating Classic decks from the normal Deck creation, there's only the button to switch from Standard to Wild and there's no way to narrow down the Card list to Classic, cause it will just use the currently still active Classic set from Standard and Wild.
Here's what you do:
Go to Classic mode under "Play", you should see the screen above. Then use the "My Collection" button to go to your collection manager. THINGS WILL LOOK LIKE STANDARD. Ignore what you see and click the button to start creating a new deck. You will then be taken to a Classic section with only 9 classes to choose from (No DH) and if you pick a class you will get a choice of Deck recipes OR a Custom deck. Choose Custom, and then re-build the decks you made.
You can immediately tell if you did it right by the border along the class name top right or the button on the collection manager which will now show the Classic mode icon.

Rogue was especially hard to narrow down to a selection. I think there's going to be a TON of different Rogue decks that will be really good. I left out Secret Rogue too, which looked interesting still with a weapons package added.
Basically tomorrow once the expansion is live, I will be watching our decks function on the site like a hawk and see which decks people are looking at and upvoting, and then select decks from among those to feature in this post.
Most classes will have at LEAST 1 deck that is not currently in the post that will be there tomorrow around this time and there's a good chance those decks are not even on the site right now but will be created tomorrow.
So if your poison of choice (hehe) isn't among the choices right now then check back tomorrow and it might pop up.

Just going to confirm this too. I have more gold than I used to get and feel much more engaged with the game than before, due to the weekly quests giving you more motivation to log in every day/week.
In the old days there were many days where I;d log in, re-roll my daily cause it was shit, end up with a different shit daily and just log out again. Now, even if my daily is not great, there's always weeklies to work on (at least early in the week). So then you still play just to get some progress on those.
And sometimes, you get a daily that is good XP, but might not be what you prefer, but you end up doing it anyway, cause you wanted to get progress on your weeklies.
So, more gold, more engagement with the game due to weeklies and I actually get more out of the game cause it persuades me to do things outside of my comfort zone (ie play classes and decks I wouldn't usually).
All in all it's been great, and they have made the reward track have even more side benefits this time, even on the free track. So this expansion should be even better.

Oops, corrected. Yes, 10 am. Thanks!
(Good thing you caught it, cause I had copied that straight from the Launch day post going live tomorrow xD )

Well, there's been a shortage of fun cards for the past year or more. Saviors of Uldum is the last time we got an actual handful of "fun" cards, that you knew were probably going to require specific decks and have a low winrate but be really funny to pull off.
Cards like Desert Obelisk and Mogu Cultist but the only card we got this expansion that comes close to that is Celestial Alignment which is actually a card that might be good and not just a meme.
It's one of the most talked about cards in the set, so I'm not sure why Blizz turned away from producing fun meme cards like that. If they were worried about sticking a class with a card that is kinda bad, then just make these meme cards neutrals, all the more chance for more people to experiment with them.
But alas.

Someone had a little moment. It's okay, I cleaned up.

The expansion will go live on TUESDAY MARCH 30TH, and the likely time is 10am Pacific US/ 1pm Eastern US/ 19:00 Central EU/ 18:00 British.
You have to keep in mind though that something can always come up and shift the start time, but that's been the time Blizzard aims for for the last bunch of expansions and they have yet to fail to get it out on time.

Blizzard made some significant changes to the way the game tracks things behind the scenes and that caused a lot of problems for deck trackers, including Innkeeper.
It's been out of order since then and there's no ETA on when it might work again, since there's a lot of stuff that needs to be rewritten in its code to make it work again.
So unfortunately Innkeeper won't work.
Closing this here.
