posted a message on Card draw with full hand

Just had a thought, and wondered what happens. Let's say you have a full hand of cards allready, what then happens when you draw a card for your turn start? Do you not draw the card at all, or does the card get drawn and discarded cause you have no room for it in your hand?

If it discards what you draw you might get royally screwed if you draw too many useless cards, and discard the one you are waiting for, if it just does nothing then it would be a pretty valid tactic to stretch your deck when you can and make sure you start fatiguing later then your opponent.

So has anything been said about what happens in this situation? Maybe even a different solution then I'm thinking of right now?

Last we heard packs would be 5 cards with at least 1 rare or higher quality cards, with an aimed price of $1 per pack.

posted a message on Hearthstone Patch #1

Agreed. For a second I thought I'd missed the start of beta by going to bed, but luckily not.

First patch of many to come. I don't doubt there'll be more NOOOOOOOOOOOO in the months to come, especially when serious beta starts and the more shrewd players get their hands on the game. Glad Blizz doesn't hold on to broken cards or concepts too hard, but simply goes to the next idea.

I have 2 words for the conversion of cards into dust, and then dust into cards again: HOLY SHIT.

I don't like these conversion rates AT ALL. I know the intent is to keep us playing, but with these conversion rates I'm not going to be crafting much. I'd rather keep my cards, and d/e the cards I have more then I'm allowed to have, then I would d/e everything I don't need for my main deck and craft at these rates.

Right on top of the cards there are 3 buttons: "Visual" "Images" and "Listing". If you use this last option you get a fully sortable table, which I assume is what you are after. :)

posted a message on Blue Posts - Mulligans, Lord Jaraxxus, Mirror Matchups, Silence

That might be, but having an ability in the game that can one shot your Hero from any amount of health he has and end the game, for just 2 mana, and no set up, is not the way to improve the situation. It just makes Jaraxxus the kind of ability I'm now reluctant to add to my deck and build my strategy around, cause it's so easily counterable.

I'm sort of shocked at the things you can do to Jaraxxus. Being 1 shot by another Warlock with Grimoire of Sacrifice isn't my idea of fun, nor is getting it repentenced by a Pally. Not very Legendary for a Legendary that way. Makes me wonder if Jaraxxus is still a viable play tactic, if he's crippled that easily by at least 2 classes. =/

posted a message on Millhouse Manastorm Tutorial Voiceovers, Experience Gain Sound Effect

Don't think the VA for Millhouse is the same as in WoW. He sounds much squeekier.

From the sound of it this fight is just beating Millhouse before he gets 10 mana and unleashes his card. I'm going to guess he's not doing anything in the meantime giving you the opportunity to concentrate on the basics of attacking your opponent.

Can't wait to try this! (not because it's awesome, but because it will be my first time actually playing when I do :D )

Yeah don't think they will. I'm beginning to doubt my 11th of july guess is anywhere close now, tbh. I'm starting to think first wave of beta won't be here before August now.

posted a message on What's Cooking In the Hearth? - New Cards, Leveling System, Updated Card Frames

Gold is the new currency, and we gain experience through battles to level up our heroes? That's some interesting design choices. The Gold as currency will make it easier to balance the gains from winning, as they can now you give you enough gold for 1,5 packs in a week, instead of 1 or 2.Will also make buying packs less obvious. You don't spend 20$ to buy 20 packs, you spend your 50 gold coins that you bought for 20$. Minor difference, but it helps people spend money more easily. Also reinforces the RPG part of the game of course. :D

The experience bit is slightly puzzeling. It might mean they are doing the game introduction a bit different then we expected. This sounds more like you choose a hero and level it, and not just unlock all the heroes in a short tutorial. Might not be such a bad idea, although it does lock you in more to 1 hero (at least at the start). Slower access to the full arsenal of a hero will mean switching heroes to play with is going to be a more complicated thing, much like switching mains in WoW is. Much to consider with this. I hope they'll give us some more insight about all this soon.

Pretty good music. Can trust Blizzard to acknowledge the importance of that and make sure it's good. :D

Maybe they'll do a subtle icon-ish thing that pops up on your screen, like D3 does. Not just for WoW, but HS and SC2 as well. Not the same as a nice loading screen, with effects and music, but still.

I like Jaina. Not a fan of the Mage class, but I won't mind playing against Jaina and hearing her emotes.

About the Battle.net Desktop Client, the person that got me and several other interested moderators on MMO-C in the Desktop beta, told us that Hearthstone didn't have it's own launcher, and only worked through the desktop app. So I don't know what they'll do, but it might be that you'll get the desktop app if you get into Hearthstone beta. Another reason to put yourself down for the HS beta! :D

posted a message on Which Class are you going to play?

Surprised by the number of people that are going Shaman. Wonder if that's deck/hero power based or simply based on being able to play as Thrall.
