posted a message on Are rank 5 players as good as Legend players ?

When someone wants to claim  that rank and skill are unrelated just show them this picture:

    Rank vs Missed Patches attack

It's from Disguised Toast video about Patches the Pirate stats in 700 000 games.

Legend players make less mistakes than rank 5 players, it is obvious and chart above is just one example, im sure it's true for every other decision in HS. But still... there are legend players making really stupid plays (as shown on the chart).

posted a message on Someone explain this to me

The reason why tri-class cards are in the neutral section of your card collection is because the alternative is to make three copies of them - one in each class section and that is way worse (mostly because of search results, you search for Kazakus and get three copies of him one from each class). Also little known fact - there are three different copies of each tri-class card, they have different banners around mana cost.

posted a message on Make it so you only matchup with other Whizbang decks in casual.

After thinking about it that's actually a cool idea, and it can be extended to other "card formats". For example something like this:

Maybe it's an idea for next custom card competition? ;) Obviously it could be used only in Casual Mode. So maybe change text to reflect that.

Can someone explain to me why would you have to pay taxes for winning hearthstone packs? They are  worth 0$ in real world, aren't they?

posted a message on pre-purchasing packs... worth it or nah??

The real world value of 50 packs is 0$. You should pre-order if:

    • you can afford it
    • you enjoy the game
    • you want to show appreciation and support to the makers of the game
    • you think that 50 packs will make considerable improvement to your experience playing the game

posted a message on Is the matchmaking system really random, or rigged?
    Quote from kingius >>

Particularly in Hearthstone match-ups, people in this thread say things like "I had three games against X, I teched against that, and suddenly got three games where my tech didn't help." Their fallacy is that they assume switching cards caused the change, when in fact they were responding to something unlikely enough that it would have stopped on its own.

No no no. The fallacy here is that you believe something which you mistake to be true and then argue as though it is. You have no way of knowing what code Blizzard is really running here - that code could be doing anything. The only way to argue your case as being actual fact is to have Blizzard open source the matching making code, which would prove beyond doubt that either match making really is random/fair/etc or is somehow rigged/skewed/responsive. If you can see the difference between discussions on coin tosses and other real theoretical random events... and software... then you have to acknowledge the possibility is there and take this more seriously. As a software engineer, in the programs I create, I can control the randomness so that the very next number thats generated is exactly what I want it to be (through something called a seed) - that makes probabilistic analysis a moot point. If I can do these things, so can Blizzard's engineers, and that's just a quick example.

Just because something is possible it doesn't make it worth taking seriously. There is infinite number of possible things. We need more reasons.
