Gave it a whirl. After several games, I think it's really fun. Flark's Boom-Zooka worked great attacking past a Voidlord and getting a Mountain Giant. I'm tinkering with it a little, but definitely like it. Not sure how competitive it will be, but I don't even care. Always fun to try new decks out. Gratz!

Thanks! I'm glad you're also enjoying it. If you come up with any good tweaks, let me know.

Since you have some secrets already I think the spellstone could be a good option to give you more time to drop your big minions.

I thought about that, but it would end up ruining the Bowman. As it is, Wandering Monster sometimes messes it up randomly, but it's too good a secret to not use.

Originally built while messing around with the legendaries I opened, this deck surprised me with how frequently it won. It works by controlling/stalling the board until turn 8 and then surprising the opponent with massive damage from nowhere.

Flark's Boom-Zooka is great: it clears big taunts and then gives you one to two (usually) big chargers after. This is because of how the Abominable Bowman's deathrattle works with the Zooka: if it pulls Bowman and any beast, it will resurrect whatever was pulled immediately after everybody dies.

So, one bowman plus Katrina and Krush will leave you with a new Krush and a Charged Devilsaur. Other Bowman plus two Play Dead on turn 9 will give you two more big chargers and a third once it dies.

I am not a skilled deckbuilder by any means and as I said, I built this for fun. Once it started winning about half the time, though, I figured there might be something here. What do you all think? Do you see places for improvement that won't veer too far away from the spirit of the deck?

Played a Thoughtsteal deck in wild against a mill rogue. He let me play Archbishop three times for whatever reason. Feels good to have a 43 card deck against a mill opponent with a 9 card deck. The best part was that the douche started the match spamming the Wow emote at every play I made. For some reason, he stopped after my second Archbishop... weird! Ah, felt good when the bitch conceded!

posted a message on New Legendary Shaman Card Reveal - The Storm Bringer

Just after reviewing the current, non-Boomsday legendaries, I'm counting 19 bad and 72 acceptable to good. That's a 20% chance for each minion on the board to be acceptable or good. An example of a bad is Lynessa and Chameleos. An acceptable result is even something like Millhouse. A 4/4 is acceptable if it used to be a 1/1 totem. Frankly, if you are Thrall Deathseeker and you play this on 9 or 10 mana, even getting a bad result can be addressed immediately.

This fits the power level of the legendary spells we've seen up to this point, I feel. Not overpowered, but it will have an 80% chance per minion to improve your board state. Even better if you can make trades beforehand or hit face and then 'heal' your board through transformation.

I believe when they called the expansion "The Boomsday Project" and made Dr. Boom the lead character, they did just wave their hands and say "science". After all, science is the just the systematic study of the behavior of the world through observation. I observe that the behavior of this expansion is SCIENCE!!!!!! *explosion* *springy noise* *clattering sprockets*

Lasers! Whalen said Paladins are laser scientists in this one. A ray is a kind of laser and one that sets health and attack to some low number fits with other stat control cards.

posted a message on The Boomsday Project Power level.

Seems just right. I have noticed a steady decrease in power levels since Kraken. Mammoth's power levels were lowered to account for the high power and all the problem decks that received the highest levels of bitching came out of lingering Kraken cards (jades, Raza, etc.). On their own, Mammoth cards were not particularly overpowered, it seemed.

Now, Mammoth cards are causing all the salt and, for the most part, we define the highest meta decks by Mammoth cards (Hadronox, cube, DKs, etc.). Raven's expansions are not as overwhelming in terms of raw power. The most abusable cards in Boomsday will no doubt create frustrating combos, but will likely do so with Mammoth cards.

If all Raven expansions are of the decreased power level we've been seeing, then next year has the potential to be far more balanced.

posted a message on Activision-Blizzard has gone too far with the Mega Bundle

Maybe this is just not for you. I have a lot of disposable income, buying this mega-bundle is a drop in the bucket. It's totally for me. Just because something is offered does not mean you should be able to have it. If you don't find $80 worth of value in the bundle, don't buy it.

For some reason, the essence of supply and demand appears to have escaped you. Your sense of entitlement is great and all, but often you just don't get what you want on your terms. If you want it, pay. But Blizz is not offering a utility like electricity or water: it's just a game. They are under no obligation to do anything other than make money off of folks like me. And they do, so why would they ever change?

posted a message on Artifact - The Future of Card Games?

Regarding popularity, it will need to be as or more entertaining to watch on stream to oppose HS. Pro players are well and good, but streamers generate interest and investment. If artifact is fun to spectate and play, it will stand a better chance. If it's only fun to play, but not to watch, it won't.

posted a message on Rage quiting, Why, and what should be done?

Nothing should be done because you cannot penalize players if their network drops them, if there is an emergency and they need to go, if their computer crashes, or if the HS servers crash or hiccup.
