posted a message on Tess Greymane is Not Disenchantable for Full Value, Clearly a Mistake, Right? [UPDATE]

Less than a year ago: "Hmm Patches and Raza have been played consistently in most meta decks for over a year now... better nerf them before they rotate to Wild, just to be safe. The playerbase will surely appreciate us staying on top of things and not letting cards like these run out of control."

    ……...

Now: "Hmm Lynessa has started to see play in Quest Paladin... I think Paladin players would really appreciate some added RNG to that particular deck!"

"Hmm Tess Greymane is seeing play? Better shut that shit down, Odd Rogue is what the people should be playing more of!"

posted a message on Hearthstone Patch 11.2 - Taverns of Time Event, New Bundles, Free Golden Card Pack

I wouldn't say that it was unintuitive. Technically, for Counterspell to activate it acknowledges that a spell has been cast, and if a spell has been cast then logically spell related effects should trigger, even if the spell goes on to be countered.

It's a card that can work both ways and not necessarily be wrong. Blizzard have decided they now like it better this way, which is a pseudo buff to Counterspell. I won't pretend to be happy about that but neither will I complain since it's a small change.

It's just too bad that completely unplayed cards continue to be ignored in the meantime.

There aren't spells with whenever and after effects. It counters whenever and after effects that would be triggered by the countered spell.

posted a message on Where did the "Arena-Only" cards go?
    Quote from Sykomyke >>

Ah, well if they got taken away that explains it.  Probably for the best,  they didn't seem like a ton of thought got put into them as some were vastly more broken than others.

The reason some of them were more or less powerful was BECAUSE there was time put into them. It would be thoughtless to give Paladin or Mage (a couple of the best arena classes at the time) strong new cards. Shaman was doing the worst so they got arguably the best card.

I tend not to destroy enemy Aluneths. Almost every time my opponent has played it they've died, after the first 3 cards drawn it really just starts to kill them rather than help :D

Was loving this deck last season. I was surprised to find it randomly as a listed archetype on HSReplay.

Hopefully it continues to perform well. How important do you think Ooze is now that Cubelock has been nerfed, are there still enough Skulls and other weapons in the meta to warrant weapon tech?

posted a message on Simple Buff For Malchezaar, Genn And Baku.

Suggesting a buff for cards that are being played (a lot) is completely pointless. Especially if the idea is to delete an intended drawback of those cards.

What's wrong, drawing Baku in your starting Odd Paladin hand is too unfair? :(

Meanwhile the Malchezaar change is a nerf for an unused card...

Almost every name, character, flavor text, expanion, area, etc. is a reference to some pop culture icon, whether it be a movie, book, play, real person, history, or anything. Blizzard has always done this with their games, and it's one of the reasons their lore is the best.

Hearthstone names are more often a play on words rather than pop culture references. It's just the flavour text and minion quotes that you find those.

But if you didn't get Harrison Jones, I don't expect you to understand any of these ones without looking them up

Looked them up in the Hearthstone wiki, I only knew about 2 of those. Some gems in there! There are more, right?

I think that's about it for cards named after/similar to existing characters (there's C'Thun too technically). A lot of Hearthstone's pop culture references are found in the flavour texts instead.

What other cards follow this naming convention (or something similar)?

posted a message on When will players start calling for new nerfs?

I'm happy with these soft nerfs rather than completely destroying cards. But personally i'd prefer to see monthly card balances where certain cards can also be buffed (for example cards that the team decides were nerfed a little too hard) or maybe help out some unused cards such as Kidnapper.

That's all, I don't think card patches necessarily have to be just nerfs, but blizzard seem to think that way.

Rank means literally nothing in Hearthstone. (Except at the 2 extremes where you dropped yourself to rank 25 to smash noobs, or you grinded to Legend for the first time and everyone you play is net decking or streaming)
