That is why i enjoy my Control Mage so much now instead. Just keep dropping 20/20 worth of stats of stats every turn with my 4 copies of Conjurers Calling that i got from a Mana Cyclone hand fill. Nothing quite as satisfying as hitting face for 10 damage then turning that 3/3 into 2x 7/7 a few turns in a row.
I always try to make fun Mage decks with lots of randomness in them so Mana Cyclone + Conjurers Calling deck was a given. Both Mana Cyclone and Conjurers Calling are incredible cards that can define whole decks and they actually synergy very well with eachother too as Mana Cyclone will fill your hand up very nicely and provide the value you need on early turns when you can do combos such as Mirror Image + Elemental Invocation + Coin + Ray of Frost for a full hand of random spells which combos into a turn 4-5 Giant.
And with this deck, Raven Familar is SOOOOO good! Every mage minion you can discover almost are great with this deck.
Did my eyes deceive me...did someone call Khadgar mage a control deck??? It's definitely more of a midrange deck...
The Conjurers Calling tech is only about 1/3 of a Mage deck, for the class in particular it is very common to pair multiple techs together to form a full deck. Its like calling a control Warrior, Bomb Warrior just because it uses some Mechs and Boom hero.
My control Mage that uses Mana Cyclone tech and Conjurer tech is pretty much always at 10 cards and i end up discarding Giants left and right because Mana Cyclone are to good at filling your hand. 2 Mana, draw 4 random spells and summon a 2/2 minion is pretty value with Elemental Invocation.
It's not really a tech it's kind the whole point of the deck. Tech is something you put in your deck to help a matchup and typically it's only 1-2 cards. If one third of your deck does a specific thing it's not tech. The deck plays very midrange. This can even be seen in the matchups it's favored and unfavored against. Throwing some removal in your deck doesn't make it a control deck. By that logic my Oblivitron hunter deck is a control deck because I run 2x spider bomb, 2x marked shot, 2x wing blast, and the unleash the beast. Hell half of the deck is centered around removal, but it's a midrange deck.
What i was trying to say was that Conjurers Calling is such a powerful card that most Mage decks no matter their typing wants to run the combo due to how good the class is at filling up its hand due to Mana Cyclone or Book of Secrets.

They seriously balancing wild more then standard now? Standard is a utter mess with Warrior and Druid being godlike and they only give a damn about wild which is supposed to be the unbalanced anything goes mode.
Me playing Mighty Banana Conjurer Mage with Mana Cyclone tech to deal with the billion of Druids. Never get a single combo in 10 games. Game discards Giant 5 times in a row after a Mana Cyclone combo. First other Conjurer Mage i meet immediately drafts a perfect combo. "#¤% this game. For some reason i lasted longer this expansion then others, a few days longer but this game must be the most tilting and hopeless experience there is.
You know exactly what the opponents will play, exactly every card down to the last one. Yet you hopelessly cannot do anything in your favor to deal with it because this game is not a good card game like MtG that allows sideboarding and properly dealing with opponents during their turn.
Only 3 classes have Hero cards. so only 3 classes can play control for now. Either Blizzard has to release Hero cards for more classes or HoF Hunter, Warrior and Shaman ones.
I can not win with my trash decks on 20 rank anymore. Every opponent plays a netdeck. Handlock, hand mage, murloc shaman, control shaman, bomb warrior and bomb hunter. I can not remember when I played against something different. Fuck all of you.
What are ranks where people do not play netdecks too much?
Pretty sure everyone who doesnt netdeck quit years ago.
I have never in my life playing Hearthstone netdecked. I make my own decks using what i personally find fun. I simply take pride in designing something that is not a meta netdeck as i know i make the game more fun for others and for my own enjoyment and dont harm it.
It is like that for me in many games. In Baldurs Gate 2, the easiest way to win the game is simply to spam Cloudkill + Web and you will beat every single encounter without no effort. But what is the fun in that? The game has over 500+ different spells so why limit yourself to just 2 spells. Sounds like a awfully self defeating way to play a game imo.
The idea of fun is ofcourse incredibly subjective, and i know its wrong for me to blame netdecks as most of those players also do just play the game the way they want and they also have a ton of fun else they would obviously not play the game. I just wish more players would be interested in the deck building part of the game and take pride in their own creations.
Bomb Warrior is really slow and doesnt have very much board threats. Better question is how you deal with thief Rogue which pretty much has everything. Good card draw. good early game, insane healing, incredible late game threats etc.
Classes without hero cards unplayable. No idea what decided Blizzard to only give some classes hero cards effectively making them much stronger then the classes that do not have a hero card. Either give all classes a hero card or put Shaman, Hunter and Warrior hero card into wild.

If litteraly installing 3rd party programs that automate functions for you in the game like deck tracker is not cheating then i doubt this is either.

Warrior has curb stomped every other control deck out of existance. Nice balance Blizzard, please test your cards before you release them.

Control Mage is dead this expansion "no healing", some form of aggro Mage probably works however with the new low cost spells.
