Um, Corrupt the Waters will still be in Standard, folks. With a completed Quest, this is essentially Flamestrike on a stick, with a 4/2 body left over. Considering how heavily played Lord Godfrey is played, even in Wild, I don't think damaging your own minions is not going to be enough to see it from being played.

People are being completely silly, if they think everyone is going to run netdecks created during this stream on day 1, then theorycraft your own deck that beats those decks. Pretending that this somehow takes your ability away to create your decks is just making excuses. If you can't come up with decks better than the net decks then it is tantamount to admitting you'd come up with worse decks than them. Theorycrafting your own decks is all about the concept of perfecting it, if you give up because others are using decks made by other people, then you are just admitting you never actually intended to optimize your deck in the first place.

I think people are overplaying the versatility in the sense of triggering effects with it. What this card should be read as is the next time the minion would take damage, they only take 1. It has some marginal uses in preventing direct damage removal effects on key minions, but realistically is not worth a slot in anything that ain't aggressive that also likes trading. It's statline leads me to compare it to prenerf abusive sergeant, an offensive 1 cost body that helps make value trades for aggressive archthypes. It does not offer the same reach, but as an outcome offers similar number of surviving minions.
It will be strong, but unless we have an extremely trade heavy midrange meta, it won't see play outside of aggro.

This card is far more important to the deck that'd run 8 mana 9/5 than the 8 mana 9/5 itself. It doesn't matter how strong your late game is if you can't make it there, and a lot of DH tools require to slam their face into them. This card however is a tool that can actually help preserve health and deal with early aggression, especially since DH has insanely cheap cards like Twin Slice to combo this with.

False. Wrath Hound and Lesser Wrath Hound from BC are both demons, and Manglewrath and Ragemaw are also both demons this time from Legion. Demon Green Core Hounds have existed since the first time the model was used.

Guys, I am pretty sure the scientific name for this phenomenon is called Teaserifitis Soonish.
