He specifically spoke against Shudderwock when he saw it, but it was too late by then. He doesn't participate much in card design.

Koalucas posted a message on People take Hearthstone way too seriously.Posted in: General DiscussionPeople try hard and specially with SMORC deck cause of gold system reward.
Earning gold only when you win is bad.
Earning same gold after 5min game or 1hour game is also bad.
If you want more fun deck go in wild.
Yes, there is still try harder, but more people try to construct fun combo deck, because there is more deck construction possibility. -

Peteravens05 posted a message on People take Hearthstone way too seriously.Posted in: General DiscussionIve been thinking lately, The problem with Hearthstone as a whole is basically the players themselves. Now i know youre thinking that its more of the game itself. but I think there is something when it comes to player behavior and mindset. Now what am i referring to?
1. Netdecks and "tier" lists - This is the #1 issue i have with the community as a whole where alot of players basically stop trying to build decks of their own but instead they only focus on what is considered "good". This also leads to the point of players make up tier lists because basically all a Tier list is basically what is the best deck to netdeck. I cant imagine when you play a game you can play on your phone you would be only focused on what people consider good and what deck you want to build.
2. Casual Mode Tryhards - This is one of the big problems i have with playing hearthstone because basically Ranked and Casual mode are not different in anyway. The players that linger in this playmode are pretty Deplorable if youre playing an established deck like Cubelock or Aggro paladin. what blows my mind even more is that you have people who are ranked 10-5 who are playing Casual with netdecks and thats just not okay because if youre netdecking, you might as well be playing Ranked to begin with.
3. Esports and competitive - basically this goes with the 1st point, but i think the reason people play hearthstone too seriously is because Esports has a small roll in what streamers play. I remember when i use to play MTG, Pro tours did have netdecks, but there are decks where they were different because players liked to play decks that were fun even if they werent always going to win, but sometimes they do cause of the pilot.
i know im gonna get Flamed for this cause I know how some people are when it comes to touchy subjects that deal with judging someone.

Kaladin posted a message on Netdecking in CasualPosted in: General DiscussionNetdecking casual is the worst thing you can do in Hearthstone.
Nah, that honour is reserved for playing cube Warlock or Inner Fire Priest.Casual is the perfect place to practice a netdeck or use one to complete a quest. Some people have this weird notion that casual should just be for people who are either fairly bad at the game or just want to try weird meme decks. Sorry kids, but the playground doesnt belong to you, so no, you cant have your ball back! :-PCasual is for anyone and everyone. Dont like seeing netdecks? Try an offline, solo player game because they’re not going anywhere any time soon.Ladder is exactly the place to play Cubelock or Inner Fire Priest though. In my opinion, Ladder is like playing professional sports, but where anyone can give it a shot. You wanna win on the professional level, you bring a professional level team (tier 1 netdeck). Casual is like going down to the local gym for a pickup game. Wanna screw around with your buddies for a fun game? Cool, gather your friends who are decent, but not the best, but just like to have a good time and see what happens (your average fun homebrew deck). But don't be that asshole that brings a pro team to a pickup game and then claim, "It's just for fun, why do you care about winning? It's just a pickup game." -

Pinkle_Dadandy posted a message on Netdecking in CasualPosted in: General DiscussionThere's a lot Blizzard can do to fix this. There's no incentive not to farm folks who are playing casually and there's nowhere for players to go for a purely "casual" constructed experience.

RIP Yogg, our Lord and Savior.Btw it would be easy to make a wild version of this deck that would be even better with the crazy wild deathrattles available (and you could add Yogg). -

Meme decks only.

Agreed. Even though IMO they catered way too much to the competitive audience lately (a lá Juicy Psychmelon) and let's not forget the King Rastakhan fiasco where they made him an alternative Hero instead of the actual Hero Card of the set that he deserves; I still think HS is amazing enough to fully support it in the hope that they release more fun cards like Griftah, Witch's Cauldron, and Marin the Fox in the future. (Maybe even revert the Yogg nerf? Who knows.)

I think you misunderstood. I want to stay at Chicken Rank. But if they don't change the requirement of 5 wins to unlock the card back and still have the "you can't lose stars at this rank" in place, I'm forced to "rank up" to ugly Leper Gnome to get the card back. And in my opinion Angry Chicken > Leper Gnome. Actually it's Angry Chicken > everything else. So yeah... that sucks (for me).
1
No, that's terrible. Now I have to become an ugly Leper Gnome and can't stay an awesome Angry Chicken if I want the card back! Except you can get it with 5 combined wins in both Standard and Wild. I sure hope so, I don't want to have this ungodly portrait next to my username.

I agree. But it depends on what you want with this game. I personally like just to play the game but others might only care about winning. If you disrupt their combo it's game over. If you survive the onslaught of aggro it's game over. Only control vs. control or just mirror or similar matchups are really interesting to me. Or of course if people would play more for fun and not focus so much on winning. As I always say, playing with your friends is still the best game mode in Hearthstone.

Griftah is an amazing card. My favorite of the expansion even. Although after playing with it I have to say it's not that great, but surprisingly it's still the most fun card. So it's still my favorite, but for the most part it's because all the other cards feel somewhat lame to me. I think it's just the theme of the expansion for me. Everything is just so "competitive" and only a few cards like Griftah, Drakkari Trickster are really fun. For example the Mage Loa is pretty tryhard. Ragnaros for one mana less and it can be triggered multiple times. But nonetheless Griftah would be a very cool card even if there would be better fun cards around. The only reason people complain is because it's Legendary. It's a decent card but it might not feel worthy of a Legendary. But otherwise a really fun card in my opinion. And you can basically run it in pretty much any deck.

I have one which is basically about spamming beasts which I initally created back at Kobolds & Catacombs. I've got the idea from the card bundles in Dungeon Run. It's really good with Cauldron because of all the sticky minions and in general that you're constantly spamming beasts.
And another one where I try to make a bunch of different cards work. Especially new ones like Revenge of the Wild, Master's Call, and Untamed Beastmaster. I based the deck on the quest and also included Dire Frenzy for the memes. And last but not least there is Zul'jin to repeat all the Shaman spells you've got from Cauldron for a crazy Yogg-like effect.

Revamp of the daily gold reward structure to incentivize more mutual beneficial games - After each game both players rate the match (like/dislike) and if both players do, the player who received a good rating will be credited with this amount of time as "good games" and negative ratings substract that amount of time from the previous amount of "good games". At the start of each day the time of "good games" form the previous day (or last login) is calculated that way and you get rewarded with gold accordingly (like 1 gold per minute, max. 100 per day). For the tryhards playing Ranked: The rewards there should probably be increased to outweigh the fact that you will probably don't give a fuck about others and therefore will get almost or no gold at all from "good games".
An awesome Hero card for mages. Frost Lich Jaina is quite boring and so powerful that she immediately closes some games on her own. I'm thinking something like "Battlecry: Your spells have Lifesteal this game" with a Hero Power like Primordial Glyph or Cabalist's Tome.
A way to make Yogg great again. For example with a cultist or a quest to make him fully complete his Battlecry.
An option to have no turn timer (rope) at Fireside Gatherings.
Some Tavern Brawls as separate game modes. (Espeically that Deck Assemble one, my favorite.)
In future single-player content with the style of Dungeon Run to have more deckbuilding options. For example offer five cards per bucket and allow us to remove some cards from the deck. Currently it's rather "all or nothing" and sometimes you get stuck with quite a terrible deck because of it.
Some obvious Tavern Brawl ideas we didn't see yet - Double starting Health, no class restriction, no duplicate restriction. Also I think they could do more with the Hero Power. For example in the webspinner Brawl the Hero Power could be "Summon a 1/1 Webspinner" and it might be much more interesting or at least much cooler and more flavorful.
More social features like "guilds". (The Blizzard group thing in the app is rather lame from my experience. Better to have something in-game.)
An option to "turn off" golden cards or the option to be able to disenchant golden basic cards. Also for Heroes. I don't like to be stuck with a golden Hero (the animation is nice, but especially the "goldenness" of the Hero Power looks ugly IMO).
More deck slots. (Currently I would like to have ~200, lol)
More incentives to play Arena for someone that has a full non-golden collection already and doesn't want to go for a full golden collection. (Like that Taverns of Time event.)
"Global Quests" - Quests that the entire playerbase has to complete. Like in the Lich King fight at that one big Fireside Gathering; bringing him down to 0 Health from like 1 million. Not sure what could be the reward though. But that would be pretty cool.
