posted a message on Looking for crafting and DE advice

The way I approach it is to craft whatever legendary I need for the deck I want to play.   After that I use the extra dust to craft epics.  I don't know way but I find epics harder to get than anything else from opening packs.  I would start by crafting the neutral cards first they can be used in any deck.  Then narrow down the ones you need for  a certain deck.  Build one good deck win some gold.  Takes about 10 packs to craft an epic.  So basically a week.  there is no rush to get them all at once.   Epics since you can have 2 in each deck are sometimes better than a legendary

eadric the pure works well to save you for a turn or two when you have lost the board..... to last to turn 10 to play anyfin.   If you don't have him  DR. Boom  would work ok or maybe a second enter the coliseum

Statistics say otherwise to Blizzard. Randomonium was ranked #1 in Tavern Brawls by the number of games played. This was from data released during BlizzCon

the number of games played?   Really.  You ever think the number of gamers played is so high because most people concede by turn 3 and requeue?   number of games played means nothing  when you factor in things like speed of games, how much people concede  etc.   IMO this brawl is like playing dice without the skill that game requires.  It's all based on the roll of the dice and what you got in a mulligan.  there is zero fun in this brawl for me and it seems many others.   There is no fun in winning  because you didn't win you just had better RNG.  there is zero fun in losing because the other guy didn't beat you  he just got better RNG.    The only good thing about this brawl it it allows fast gold farming and quest completion.

posted a message on What is the most "annoying" deck to play against for you ?

combo decks with insane draw power.  be it, patron, worgen warrior, freeze mage or some warlock dragon/leeroy crap.   hate to play an entire game only to lose to a combo at the end that he is 90% likely to have because of his draws.  arcane +faceless +POW.    Nothing like just sitting turn after turn waiting for him to get his combo.   at least with the anyfin combo you can see the combo taking form.  You can see which murlocs he has played and his draw isn't 100% certain to draw both anyfin cards at the end.   You can interact with the plays.  the others is just sit and wait and try to burst them down.  wwho knows if they drew into the combo if its loaded and ready to fire.  Sure you know when the freeze mage plays Alex or emperor  most of the combo is there but you can't tell.

I think  it was the combo decks that spawned face decks.  the need to burst the combo decks down before they could draw their god cards  gave birth to face decks IMO.

posted a message on OK so can we nerf Aggro Shaman please.... its 10x worse than facehunter or eboladin...

wow  can't wait for the thread about Anyfin doing 40 damage from clear board.   Face shaman is a  good deck but it has some problems.   As others mentioned.  Anti-weapon tech  causes issues to face shaman, taunts  as in plural causes problems.  one taunt / one heal isn't enough.   shaman will just brush it off, take out the one taunt or go around it.   the second taunt or  second heal  is much more of a problem.  Also  the longer you can make the game the harder for the shaman to win because the shaman is on a clock.  He isn't really trading with your minions  but going face therefore if your minion isn't a taunt or big threat it will be ignored.   By ignoring these little threats the shaman is hoping to kill you before the little threats build to a kill turn.   This is where a board clear or feral spirits come into play for the shaman.  It is to stop your little threats he is leaving behind.

Hotform did a face shaman using deathlords to fix that problem of the little threats building up.  It worked well  and extended the time the shaman has to kill you. IMO  that will be face shaman 2.0  once people figure out the addition of a couple heals and a couple taunts improves the win rate against shaman very much.  The shaman players will be teching in their own taunts to give them more time to kill you  before you can kill them.  I could see a midrange face shaman deck  coming to life in the next month or so.

So to win against shaman for now play some heals , taunts and anti-weapon techs (notice the use of the plural)  as well as protect your little threats  to be able to out race shaman at the end.

posted a message on Is Hearthstone becoming less fun?

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Which to me is what makes the game fun and will continue to do so.   The hard counter IMO isn't going to be around as much.  It appears that Blizzard is trying to make decks more of a melting pot.   Sure you will have some decks that are pure aggro like face hunter and shaman  and some pure control   but with RENO, Brann  etc it seems to me that the move is to make decks more a jack of all trades/mid-range  that can compete with all other types of decks on a good day.

I agree I don't like being draw dependent.  I hate topdeck wars.  I try to tech in draw cards for this reason.    Just like I don't like losing on turn 5 to agrgo so I tech in some heals.

posted a message on Is Hearthstone becoming less fun?

I'm reading through the threads and seeing  that for most posters  they equate fun to easy.   Boiling it down it seems that the OP and others want to have "fun" by easily walking through the game destroying  the "less skilled"  with OP decks like miracle rogue, undertaker hunter and patron.   That Secret Pally is very hard to play against  and since they won't play it because "it requires no skill"  they are having less fun.

I tend to agree with one of the posters who said the players are getting better  and that the game requires more skill now than ever.   That the grind to legend is harder now because the players are better.  That Arena isn't auto win because the pool of players are better.  In all competition/games the moment your competition gets better is the moment that most people stop having as much fun and have to start to work harder to keep up with that competition.  This by definition means the game/event becomes less fun to all  those that do not equate more effort to more fun.   In short it becomes a "grind".

Some get more enjoyment with the harder competition.  Some have more fun the harder the game gets because the victory when it comes means more but the majority don't.

there are many many cards out there now.  there are new decks just waiting to be made.   All it takes is experimenting with the cards.  the fun I get is making new decks and seeing if my ideas can win.   For instance the Brawl today I added Lorewalker Cho and weblord.  surprising how three cards can screw up so many other people's day.   But If I just went and picked a netdeck I wouldn't have had any fun in Brawl today.

The game today as it has always been is what you make it.  I got no fun from the game during the miracle rogue days and patron.  Where is the fun watching the other player draw their entire hand then OTK you?  I guess its fun if you are playing it because no matter how skilled or unskilled th other player is they can't stop you.   Once you draw the required cards it was auto kill.   But to me at least that type of fun got old fast.   I would much rather interact with the other player then just sitting there hoping I can burst him down before he drew his combo.     I hated the days of undertaker-hunter.   If they drew the right cards in the mulligan you where dead.  The list goes on.

There are several good decks out there, several  good cards no one is playing. , several modes of play, several ways to enjoy this game that doesn't require a "grind" .  find the right balance between competition and grind and enjoy the game.

    1. LOE

    2. GvG

    3. TGT

    4.BRM

    5. Naxx

I voted Naxx as number 5 because it broke the game with undertaker and many of its cards to this day are overpowered.  Naxx IMO limited the number of cards that were playable instead of expanding the options.

posted a message on Paladin Deck

The adventures  tend to give you the most bang for the buck/gold.  There are some really great cards in  Naxx and LOE.   BRM is ok  but more dragon centric.  getting the adventures will decrease the time needed to form better decks.   But there are some crafted cards that would be ok.  Cult master instead of divine favor for instance  would be a better card draw engine IMO.  you could search mid-range pally decks and see what  changes you can make with the cards you do have.   Since your first deck is looking more mid range.  then Secret even though you have a Challenger in it.

The first deck doesn't have any win condition besides Dr. boom.  No late game.  Pally needs something to finish the game.  Your early game is good.  shielded minibot, muster for battle.  Should take out hand of protection and add in a equality and another concentration for a board clear in late game.  Then maybe a Tirion or a or some other big minion for end game.   should probably either get more secrets or get rid of Challenger.  At the moment you don't have enough secrets to justify  Challenger.  Add a quartermaster instead.   Change the Warden for a Shredder or some other good 4 drop.  You should also think about getting rid of a weapon.  2 truesilvers and a cogmaster are plenty.  Sword of justice is slow  but you can trade the cogmaster for it.  one or the other  I would think not both.   Also you might want to think about dropping one murloc knight for a keeper or shredder.   Murloc knight is more of a 6 drop than a four drop if you want to get value out of it.  Humility is ok  but its better to play another Aldor peacekeeper instead.  Gives the same effect but you have a 3/3 body.  Those changes should help  up the win rate some.

posted a message on The hack group Anonymous has DECLARED WAR on ISIS!

I know it requires some critical thinking, context clues, and the like.. but that was the conversation.

Here is some critical thinking.  Do you think the Muslim countries started as majority Muslim?  Do you think Islam just arrived in the world and countries like Iraq, Iran, Jordan  just all of a sudden switched their religion to majority Muslim?

The context clues  you are missing is that the game plan for Jihad has NOT changed since Mohammad rode out of the desert in 600 AD.  It is the same plan done over and over again to country after country and culture after culture.  It works.  The only times Jihad was stopped was when it was defeated by force of arms.   In 1400 years the gameplan hasn't changed.   They will not stop until the entire world is under Islam or they are utterly defeated.   That is a  hard cold fact backed up by 1400 years of the history of Islam

posted a message on LoE or Naxx?

depends on what you want to play.   Look at some decks that you might like to use  see which adventure has the most cards for that deck.   I would get both  even BRM has some nice cards in it if you like dragons  and emperor is used in several combo decks.   Reno, Sir finley and brann are starting to change the meta but naxx cards are still the staple in many decks.   if you can only get one I guess I would go with Naxx to start.  the cards are all tested and ingrained in decks.   You know 2 weeks from now those cards will still be used

posted a message on What have you done with the newest LOE wing legendary?

Placed him in my face shaman deck.   Makes the deck so much better.  Getting warlock draw makes the deck keep up with midrange.  Druid/hunter/mage hero power just adds damage to doomhammer.
