Region: United States, North America, Eastern Standard Time
Usual Play Times: Monday through Friday, 6:00pm until whenever (usually 12:00am); Weekends, whenever
Level of Experience: Advanced, highest rank is top 1000 legend, but I like memes. Mainly Standard but also play Wild on and off. Been playing since GvG.
Looking For: practice partners, fellow memesters, chit chat partners, people to help with challenge-a-friend and spectate quests
About Me: I’m 22. First TCG was Yu-Gi-Oh! at age 8. Played MTG a little bit, random stuff like Weiß Schwarz, Duel Masters/Kaijudo, Naruto TCG, etc. I also play BRs like Fortnite and Apex, Coops like Overwatch, and RPGs like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.
This first thing I thought about when seeing this was the potential to flood your board with mechs like Piloted Reaper. So turn 8, Oblivitron + Fireworks Tech to pull Piloted Reaper, which would trigger and summon a 2-drop. If the average 2-drop has a raw stat value of ~5 pts, then you are producing 22 pts of value across 4 minions for 8 mana, which would normally get you between 17 and 20 in stat points [think The Lich King, 8 mana 8/8 with Taunt who generates at least one card, which is slightly better than a draw in most cases (~2-3 pts), giving him an overall score of 19+]. While this combo may seem far fetched, it at least highlights some potential decks Oblivitron could fit into.
Its been a while since I started buying packs instead of grinding them, to tell you the truth it is more fun to have whatever cards you need to experiment whatever decks you want, instead of grinding them
1) No new hero playable, and I am very disappointed about that because Hunter, Shaman and warrior, even with the rotation, have the hero cards, so why the other classes haven't one? I personally expected the hero card playable for my favourite classes.
You do not know that, only like 10% of cards are revealed. This applies to rest of your comments.
Also, most people find Hagatha or Rafaam exciting. You probably cannot see the true potential, this is why you call them Kazakus or Elise.
And having the power level down is great, even if you think it is "bored".
Because they will print another mushroooom paaawaaaaa and other cheap common crap which will kill late game design. Like every expansion. 100% guaranteed.
Let's make a bet that there won't be any control deck in top2 in june because of some cheap aggro junk for casuals.
I'll take that bet, because Aggro brings out the control decks!!
Better than Kobold Monk because this card keeps your hero elusive for a turn, even if it’s removed from the board. Monk was more fragile because the moment he died, your hero lost elusive
Some of them I don't mind, but to make Golden Monkey 2.0 is pretty lazy. It also has nothing to do with warlock
I think the effect fits the flavor of the card perfectly. Arch-Thief Rafaam's master plan in the League of Explorers adventure was to acquire rare artifacts, specifically the Golden Monkey. The fact that Arch-Villain Rafaam has the same effect as the Golden Monkey shows us that he somehow finally acquired it and has the ability to use the power of the Golden Monkey at will. In possession of the power of the Golden Monkey, Rafaam is no longer an Arch-Thief, but a full-blown Arch-Villian!
Twinspell: You get a copy of the spell when it’s played
I can't decide which leg to stand on. It could be too powerful, but on the other hand it could bring some fun combos and it lets you effectively have 4 copies of a spell.
Right now I am leaning towards excited.
If all the cards are akin to The Forest's Aid in terms of power level, then I think it would be fine. Especially since The Forest's Aid would really only be played in a token style deck. If the other Twinspell cards happened to be universally good (such as Fireball or Hellfire then I think they'd teeter toward the too good side.
I will buy the standard bundle, the mega bundle, the adventure bundle, and also this first week special bundle all as soon as I get paid in April/when the others are released.
I will be pre-ordering both bundles, as well as the nine pack bundle available during the first week. I'm doing this for a few reasons:
Hearthstone is my primary game and financial excursion, so I don't mind spending money (came from a TCG background, so I'm used to spending money on children's card games)
This is the first expansion of a new rotation and will therefore be in standard longer than any other set in year of the dragon, so it's important to me to get the cards that will likely make up the foundation of standard for the next year or two
Because I know I'm going to spend money regardless (see point one), it makes the most sense to pre-order because it is the best value, as well as the fact that setting my purchasing limit to pre-orders and special event deals helps prevent me from spending money on smaller quantities of packs more frequently for more money
***Cosmetics like card-backs or hero skins DO NOT have anything to do with my purchasing decisions***
***I also DO NOT collect golden cards, so a lot of that gets dusted Day One. I do this every expansion and tend to have all the cards from an expansion before the next one is released***
I will also be purchasing the adventure because I'm more than just a competitive player-- I enjoy the narratives and have even higher hopes for this year's single-player content, as it is a year-long story. (Note: I'm NOT purchasing the adventure solely for the packs, because it isn't a great deal when you look at the number of packs you're getting for the money/gold. I'm only purchasing because I personally enjoy playing through the content.)
Note: This post is not intended to be a brag/flex because I drop real dollars on the game. It's merely intended to be an explanation of the rationale of someone who spends money on the game.
