    That curve tho...

I'm still tripping on 3 blizzards and an Antonidas.  You'd have to draw so bad to lose with that deck.  Damn.

You guys are assuming blizzard cares about changing the arena meta.  I haven't seen much that would indicate that to me.  Most of their focus to date has been balancing constructed meta and making sure that most if not all constructed classes have competitive deck builds.  I think with arena, we just sort of get what we get and have to figure it out.  I hope there is more diversity, but the Mage's hero ability is a pretty tough one to overcome in a board control meta like the arena.  I don't see things changing too much, even with cards like Totem Golem.

That warrior deck is top notch.  Plenty of weapons, lots of efficient minions, some removal, and btw, Onyxia is probably the 3rd or 4th best legendary in arena IMO.  Hope this run goes well for you, i'd love to play this deck for an arena run.

Regarding 2 drops, they aren't all created equally.  I try to keep that in mind when drafting such that a blue gill or novice engineer will work for a two drop but they are situational for being tempo plays.  Same with a combo card like knife juggler or defias ringleader.

All RNG.  I'd say I get on every 10-15 runs but that's just a guess.  I think 2-3 runs out of well over 100 have I been offered multiple legendaries.

I lied, one more thing.  Pay attention to your mana curve particularly around turns 3 and 4.  You only have 2 three drops so you will probably never want to coin out a Flamegaurd on turn 3 because of the overload.  This is a mistake that I make too frequently when i play shaman is not planning out 3 turns ahead including overload.

Looks like a really good deck.  It's interesting to see how many more different picks you had when you weren't influenced by the HA recommendations.  I like the choice of Nefarian over Thaurrisan.  It's hard to have a hand that really gets the discount value and the 5/5 for 6 mana isn't the best.  i've always thought that card was ranked too highly on HA.  Only one major disagreement - #6 - Silver Hand over Burly RockJaw (just on the value of 6/6 worth of creatures for 6 mana).  One major weakness of this deck is that you lack Taunt.  The only taunt related card is Defender of Argus.  Taunt in combination with flametongue totem is incredibly powerful, not to mention the ability to set up a totem conga line (as Trump likes to call it) using the Flametongue to bash away at big creatures.  I went back and looked and you really didn't have much worth picking that had taunt.  Clearly you aren't picking Lord of the Arena over Firegaurd (pick 14) or Mogushan over Piloted Shredder (pick 22).  One that I would have seriously considered was the sunfury protector at pick 30 over knife juggler.  i know this would be a bit crazy since knife juggler can be great with all the totems, but my experience is that he usually get killed the turn you play him and the value of that extra damage isn't that great.  Sunfury could be played alongside a Flamegaurd or the Bolderfist Ogre for a powerful late game taunt.

In spite of the lack of taunt, this deck should do well just based on the card quality.  One last piece of advice is to pay attention to your creature order.  Assume that you could top deck a flametongue every next turn and think about where it would be ideally placed before you place your creatures down this turn.

Very cool thread.  I've enjoyed reading from start to finish periodically over the last few days.  I don't have any specific advice to offer on any drafts, but here are a few things that I've come to understand better as I continue to test my skills in arena:

    1) Heartharena and many card tier rankings are great for giving you a general idea about the value of a card in arena, but just because you have 30 "good" cards does not mean you have a good deck that will go 7+ wins.  To go that distance or further, you have to have all the elements that make a deck great including strong opening cards (enough 1 and 2 drops), a good curve, card draw, efficient minions (i.e. bomb lobber or argent commander), AoE cards, and hard removal.  Something that often gets overlooked is silence which can also save make or break a solid run up the rankings.

    2) Temper your expectations.  It's always good to aim high, but occasionally the best deck you've ever drafted will just get smashed when you get a terrible starting hand, or when you opponent's hand just aligns perfectly against every move you make.  I had a deck a while back that was absolutely stocked full of amazing cards and had all the elements necessary discussed above.  I started 10-0 and then lost three straight matches when I just ran into very strong decks with perfect card draw.  This format has layers upon layers of luck.  Not only do you need a strong draft of cards and get good options at each choosing, but you have to get good opening hands, good mid game cards, and cards to give you a win condition.  On the micro level you have to avoid bad RNG to keep from losing the game.  There's nothing worse than a Doomsayer, nat pagle, or lorewalker that comes out of a shredder and takes away your lethal and gives it to your foe.  And madder bombers.

Obviously this is just a lot of rambling about stuff you guys all know already, but thinking about it this way has helped me understand why sometimes decks that I feel are awesome only get 3-5 wins and some decks which I think are mediocre at draft go 7+.  Keep this up, its really cool to see your progress and see feedback on the drafts from other HS players.
