Imho, Eavesdropper isn't getting the attention it should. And I'd Tap That also got a vote from me, because the flavour and theme really are brilliant enough to justify that.

There was a very similar card (may even the same name) to it in a previous contest. Eavesdroppper is a neat card but not unique.

Ah, I always seem to be submitting on the last day. If anyone likes this, go vote for it on the last page.

Edit: after reviewing all entrants, I gotta say, there's a lot of garbage. Never seen so many comment posts, nearly every page has some ill-informed person fouling up the thread with card reviews instead of submissions. Also, lots of broken garbage, dumb jokes, spelling mistakes, terminology mistakes, people reusing art from existing cards....

Who knew Anarchy would be so messy? haha. Anyway, go vote for my card. The last two pages have so much trash, it should be an easy pick from among the few playable, viable, cards.

Completely agree. The constant comments are really frustrating. I know I don’t have a submission every week, but I don’t remember it ever being this bad.

Anyway, your card is great. Honestly since it’s a symmetrical effect in Mage, you could probably get away with making it cost 5.

Here’s a less oppressive version of my idea from the discussion thread. No matter what, you get a Coin in your hand turn 1. But you’ll miss out drawing on Turn 1. Is it worth it? Bink thinks so.

My new idea that can ensure you go second in game, because Bink needs all the Coins he can get. But if your opponent has it too, then it's up for grabs...

...what? How are we supposed to design for this, let alone vote for a card?

Whatever you think will make for a winning card / deserves to be a winning card. It's going to boil down to a popularity contest, of who can design the most appealing combination of gameplay and meme references flavor.

This is a theme that was going to happen eventually, so here we are. It might not work out great, but we won't know until we try it.

It's a worthwhile theme, but very difficult to predict. Not everyone agrees on themes, balance, or memes. I can already imagine a few Murloc Holmes and Pepe submissions. Personally I'm trying to think of a card that would bend the usual rules of play in a balanced way. So, here's my first idea.

Of your cards, Spirit of Redemption feels too risky for most play (unless you have a ton of armor), Savage Moonkin is nice but weak base stats, and Smokescreen feels weak. So of those 4, I'd pick Alleria.

Going with Evolution Theory. It’s a very flavorful card that also feels the best balanced.

Fell short by 2 votes. Honestly I’m surprised I made it this long. My keyword, quite simply, was bad. By the time I realized it I couldn’t do much about it. The long competition might have also reduced voter turn out, as evidenced by the lack of comments in this thread. Congrats and good luck to the finalists!

    THE TINKER

Hey, pal! Welcome back to Blasthammer's Garage! You're here so much, I'm thinking of make you an Honorary Apprentice Tinker! As you know, we Tinkers are crafty thinkers that make all kinds of wonderful toys! And today, I'm gonna show you some of our big operations, all managed from right here!

First we'll go over our plans to take back an important relic stolen by the Kobolds! It's a gun made by the Titan's servants with some of the slickest tech I've ever seen. With a couple of upgrades from your's truly, we can make it a masterpiece of engineering weaponry! But the Kobold tunnels are dangerous, so we gotta stock up on weapons and gadgets and be ready for anything!

After that, there's a village up north that's under attack by a witch, and I've got some plans to protect the rich, defenseless townsfolk. A bunch of special traps and guard-mechs can keep the monsters at bay. I even have an idea for an animated Scarecrow that can attack baddies and self repair. Sounds good, right? Surely nothing bad can come from that. Nope!

One last thing I want to mention. I've been thinking about Genn Greymane and his battle against that monster, Baku the Mooneater . They way I see it... why do we need to pick a side? We make the most profit when we can support both! For Genn, we've got all the token and hand size themes that I've shown you before. And if Baku wants to talk, we've got some cool Secrets that work well for controlling the game! Or we can say 'no way' to both of them and use our Secrets and weapons to lay on the hurt!

    Keyword - Synchronize

As a reminder, Synchronize is our Tinker-only keyword that helps us rig up some neat things when use up all our Mana on a turn. Tinkers do best when they plan ahead, moving parts and bots around in their head before pressing in for a big score. Some Synchronize effects will change what cards can do, or spend extra resources, so you gotta be real careful you have enough scrap on hand!

    Example Cards

    • Titanstrike - There she is! Ain't she a beaut? Once we blast our way into the tunnels, we rig up this baby and clear out way out! With this, we have a whole new game plan: play a bunch of weapons (with help from Sprocket Thief , Refurbish , and Screwvolt, Mad Inventor ) and then play this baby and Overclock it (Basic card that gives your hero +1 Attack and Windfury this turn) to blow out the competition!
    • Random Encounter - The Kobold tunnels are dangerous, and you never know what you'll find. But you can stack the deck in your favor. Hold on to a bunch of Scrapbots and gadgets to attract a big one, then take out a hostile beasty to give your side a big advantage.
    • Mischievous Spook -  The Witch has been attracting a bunch of weird spirits, and this is one we managed to 'tame', so to speak. It likes moving things around when no one's looking. Could snag you something useful, but you gotta be careful, 'cause you won't know what he traded away until you need it most. Hey! Yeah I see you! Stop smiling at me!
    • Auto-Loader 3000 - Anyway, one of our protection plans involves this little guy. When enemies get too numerous, or the Witch is casting a bunch of spells, it goes off and gives you a bunch of new gadgets to protect yourself. Between those, some weapons, and mechs, the village should stay safe from any evil doers!
    • The Scarecrow - One of my best Tinkers came up with this one. It stands still until something gets close, then strikes! Then you Synchronize it with your other tools to repair itself, and it strikes again! See how long you can keep the chain going! But I gotta say, it's real creepy. I'm pretty sure the witch cant take control of it or anything. Right?

    All Cards

    Kobolds and Catacombs

    The Witchwood

Mischievous Spook effect does not reveal the swapped cards and works as anti-combo tech.

Ominous Fog Machine allows you to build a bunch of Secrets up without them getting tripped early. Many give you more value later in the game.

Protection Racket has synergy with Gadgetmaster Gruu .

Wrist Rocket and Screwvolt, Mad Inventor both fill Challenge 3 for Witchwood cards with synergy to the Legendary weapon.

Hey, hope you enjoyed your visit! I've got a few more things to show off next time. Got a special researcher working with Boom in his 'super secret' Lab. And after that, I'll tell you how we saved a Troll Loa. Yeah, you heard me. Take care, and give my regards to the competition!

Let’s see if I can do this by phone...

I’m looking to replace the below card, Rusted Simulacrum. As Shatterstar said, it is rather weak, and it’s too dependent on your opponent’s board. Below that are three ideas, let me know what you think!

Arm the Mob is my current favorite. My class lacks group buffs, and this is a solid one to close out a game with a full board.

Forest Crasher is a strong card than can be a huge threat in a weapon deck. Especially when you give your hero Windfury.

Witch Hunter would be the missing weapon of the Witchwood set. Synergizes with the Secret AND weapon themes of the class. It doesn’t lose Durability because that text would transfer to the Legendary weapon and be an easy way to break it.

Thanks for answers. I could have sweared Druid had an echo card too lul.

3 - I like the new Walden, but how would it work with Discover and cards like Skilled Grafter? In any case it feels much more interesting that the prior one.

Good point. As I imagined it, it would only work with discover and pseudo-discover effects but perhaps that's unintuitive and I should limit him to true random generation effects.

    EDIT

    OR

New choice, I hope the last one.

I was looking for a D&D-like name for a dragon and then, well, duh.

I will not include Chromatic Potion and Liquid Sun in those sets (perhaps in phase VI if I somehow make it) as I couldn't find any room for them.

Walden working with random generation instead of Discover like effects makes sense.

Of the two cards, I like Dungeon Dragon most. It has good base stats with a powerful effect. I’ve criticized overdraw mechanics before, but this is one that is balanced can actually be the center of a deck. You could intentionally overdraw with this to put some real hurt on your opponent.

    Almost done. Quick questions

    #1

More inter-expansion synergy! Your Legendary Weapon should define an aspect of your class, so it shouldn't be difficult to create a card which benefits it or benefits from it. We'll be pretty lenient about this anyway - after all, who can say what Shaman spells help or hinder the Runespear?

Twilight Canticle is my legendary weapon. Felblood Hag is currently my Challenge #3 card. However the mods mentioned they will "be pretty lenient" on which card passes the challenge. Any attack buff like my Mutating Potion technically qualifies as synergy with my weapon since it would restore more Health with Lifesteal. Yes, that's obscure synergy but synergy nonetheless.

Mods, do you validate this? It would free a spot

     #2

All classes except mage received an echo card in Witchwood. It wouldn't be too serious if I don't have one but I'd still rather have one.

Most people I asked preferred the grafing to effect to One More (which I should have named "Just One More" for flavor clarity). I tried to make a compromise in the form of Graft. But people still seem to prefer the minion version.

Should I give up on Echo?

    #3

I made Lord Walden very quicky at the beginning of the phase. It was a scrapped idea for my classic leggy, but I just had this cool idea in line with Flying witch.

    Which is best?

    Pretty much done after that.

Sorry I promised reviews this sunday but they didn't come. I may do last-moment reviews this WE.

What happened to Noah_Mcgrath? I didn't see him posting here? Is he aware he made it?

1 - Mods already answered it. Yay.

2 - I prefer Skilled Grafter over the other 2. Echo + hand buff or adding a bunch of grafted 1-drops both feel too greedy.

3 - I like the new Walden, but how would it work with Discover and cards like Skilled Grafter? In any case it feels much more interesting that the prior one.

After a few days of thinking through the expansions I managed to make 20 cards! Hopefully they are both fit the themes of the expansions and my class. One last time for the legendary weapon: I'm not changing the idea. I know Pircival and I had the same idea, but he doesn't attack with his weapon. Mine is intended to be the center of a weapons deck to finish off an opponent. After all, isn't building rediculous gizmos the central theme of the Tinker? But I do agree it should be tied to a suitable legendary weapon. I found Titanstrike, a gun in WoW lore, which fits perfectly (after some goblin enhancements, of course!)

    THE TINKER

Fabricate is the upgraded hero power. I've been building the class with Odd and Even decks in mind, though there won't be any Odd or Even exclusive cards. Odd decks can make more tokens faster, but nearly all Hand Size cards are Even.

    • Odd Decks - Control, Secrets, Quest
    • Even Decks - Token, Hand Size, Death Knight

In addition, the new sets push a low minion weapon deck, using Secrets and the Spellstone for defense and the Legendary Weapon as a finisher.

Kobolds and Catacombs - Break into the Kobold's lair and steal their riches! Lots of weapon synergy!

Dungeon Delver - Possibly OP. However the class lacks 1 drops, so here's one. Might be better to just draw the Secret.
Lesser Obsidian Spellstone - Big defensive boost but you need to use weapons.

Foreman's Pickaxe - Simple token generating weapon. Compare Piranha Launcher.
Refurbish - Weapon Tinker will want to quickly cycle through many weapons. This is a cheap way to do so. All Tinker weapons are balanced around 4 Mana.
Random Encounter - DND themed card. RNG minion creation, but you can stack the board in your favor.

Sprocket Thief - More weapon cycling.
Crushing Gears - Execute on a Secret. Probably the class's strongest Secret.
Clockwork Dragon - Recast your Secrets for big defensive value.

Titanstrike - The heart of the Tinker Weapon deck. Cycle through weapons, then play this. Other weapons increase attack, deal random damage, summon tokens, and add Scrapbots to hand. All together, with a Basic card that gives your hero Windfury, is how you end the game. In WoW, this is a gun forged by the Keeper Mimiron. The very same from the Mimiron's Head vehicle which isn't his actual head.
Gadgetmaster Gruu - The first version turned cards into Secrets, but that was too similar to Clockwork Dragon. This new one is a big Mech summon to, again, close out a game. There's a Witchwood card that helps this as well.

The Witchwood - Offer protection to Gilneas... at a price! Also some spooky stuff going on. Secret synergy with some Mechs.

Mischievous Spook - Need another 1-drop, and here's a much more interesting version of Gnomeferatu. My hope is that the swapped cards wouldn't be revealed. Seems like something a mischievous spirit would do.
Ominous Fog Machine - Sometimes you don't want your opponent to pop your Secrets right away. They might be better later on. This reverse-Flare is the key!
Gaslight Sentry - Secret synergy and added defense.
Auto-Loader 3000 - More Secret refill. In a Secret. Secretception.

Protection Racket - Sure, we'll keep your town safe. Don't mind all the Mechs. Works well with Gadgetmaster Gruu.
Obsessive Inventor - This town sure attracts a lot of odd folk. Spell generation is a minor theme that was shown with prior set's transform cards and will show up more in the future.
Wrist Rocket - Double Savagery in a class that uses weapons. Brilliant!
Rusty Simulacrum - Reverse Muckmorpher. The resulting minion is a Mech instead of it's normal tribe (or in addition? can we do that?)

Screwvolt, Mad Inventor - Huge card for the weapon deck, helps you cycle through weapons, although there are a few that won't buff Titanstrike (including, ironically, the Titanstrike itself).
The Scarecrow - Play your cards right, and you can bring this creeper back over and over, wearing your opponent down over many turns. It's like a horror movie monster. But the initial cost is pretty big.

    •  All Spellstones are Rare cards. Sprocket Thief seems to be simple enough to be bumped down to a Common.
    • Refurbish seems extremely weak. Tinker weapon seems to be low-cost, so 4 mana isn't usually worth it. I would make it 3 mana.
    • I don't get the effect of Random Encounter at all. Is it summon a minion for both player's according to their handsize?
    • Omnious Fog Machine need a different or name since there looks like no fog machine in the artwork.
    • Rusty Simulacrum seems weak compare to Faceless Manipulator

Thanks, will swap Sprocket Thief's and the Spellstone's rarities. Will also change Refurbish to (3).

Random Encounter is based of your own (the Tinker's) hand size. If you have 6 other cards, both players get a random 6-Cost minion, It's significantly more fair that way than if it was based on the owner's hand size.

Ominous Fog Machine might need better art, but I don't think I need a machine specifically. I have a Basic card, Noise Machine, that depicts a gnome covering his ears rather than a machine emitting sound.

Rusty Simulacrum, yeah, I agree. It's pretty bad if you can't copy something, though the lower cost and static stats make it better against cheap enemy minions. I'll see if I can improve or replace it.

    Quote from Pircival >>

    Which Witchwood Legendary is best?

Of these three, the first, although the text isn't quite right. It should say "...from your deck this game,..." and "... random Legendary minions." Sadly those changes make the text much too long. Perhaps you can change it up some more? Also...3 random Legendary minions AND a 6/6? This should cost 10.
