The meta has at least changed dramatically and speeded up signficantly. It is very difficult to play control IMO.
Warlock quest line is easily defeated by Mozaki or other burn. Or shadow priest in my experience. It nice to shake up the meta, but I do not like to speeding up that much. In this respect the warlock questline is the most problematic imo as the ways to beat it seems to be either dmg to face or slowing the deck with paladin or similar.
The other questlines are not close to this in powerline imo.
You rather waste money on a casino and proud yourselves (Inzan1ty and Feretic) with not paying for a service you obviously use alot and hopefully enjoy wasting time on.
I have the same amount of gold and dust as you but have still ordered the largest bundle.
This is not a child's game, although children also play it. I spend significantly more on almost all other activities that I do, so I pay gladly. I enjoy paying for something I like. You enjoy being free riders. And that is okay. The game needs f2p IMO. But don't think that you are smarter. Don't bite the hand that feeds you guys :)
I don't play it much myself, but I think it a fine addition to the meta and I think it is a far more interesting deck than say mechadin, token paladin or pirate warrior.
I furthermore guess that it will have a quite low win% against highlander or am I wrong?

I would say it depends on which time of the month. First days all decks are highly competitive as climbers are rushing for legend.
That being said, IMO the decks have been more diverse the last month. However at rank 1&2 diamond I think I faced 70% discard warlock for some reason.
Even in (low) legend people are playing fun and noncompetitive decks right now. :)

Actually I found it weak in Wild. Just about every deck beats it. After the next nerfs I am not sure what it can beat in Wild.
