My problem with their system is that it motivates players to NOT level up abilities they don't use in their PvP comp. It is common that you need only 2 out of 3 skills for your Merc.
Well, you also gain a small stat bonus if you max out everything about a merc, so that's something you want to do if you want to play with the best of the best. At a certain mmr you also can't be matched with a bot and will have to play against a high level oponent.
Daily - you can open a chest for the first win per day, after than you need two additional wins for the next rewards, then 3 additional, then 4 additional and finally 5 additional wins. This counter then resets every day
The new gamemode was described as a "slay the spire" -esque rogue like, but what they now presented is raid shadow legends, but just with the cards slapped on a background and then some ugly abilities.
They litterely said multiple times that it's supposed to be a rpg/pve/rogue-lite mode that is NOT comparable to Slay the Spire.

It's not like they don't release new heroes at all, the skins for the base heroes are just in addition to that.

packs give you 5 different rewards. 1 of the is always a mercenary and the other 4 ones are most likely coins in stacks of 35-45.
