Three golden cards - Fist of Jaraxxus, Darkbomb, Scavenging Hyena (all dusted), and 50 extra dust. So I got a total of 250 dust overall.

Agreed that Canceradin will be strong. I play a lot of DemonZoo which is a decent counter to rush decks (kill them before they kill you) and can hold up against control pretty well as a bonus. I intend to try a bit of mid-range paladin as well.

On my main account I have bought Nax, and BM. Also bought a few packs early on (started playing late last year). So probably $100 in total. I play 4-5 arenas per week and that along with daily quests get me enough packs and gold to run any deck I want. My highest rank is 6, which I achieved this season. I have not really focused on ladder much as I enjoy arena, but I am going to try for a legend run in September.
For fun, I made a new account last week just to see what FTP would be like. I have been able to build up a decent tempo paladin deck with very little dust and the packs I got from quest rewards and arena. The tempo paladin deck got me from rank 24 to 17 last night. I had an 8 game win streak at one point. Late in the season its easy pickings that high on the ladder, but I was impressed with the ease of getting off and running with a new account.
For a new FTP account its essential to understand which cheap decks work so that you can have some success on ladder, but its more important to become good at arena. If you can get to infinite, or close, you can build up a decent collection in 3-6 months.
