Hearthstone is being pushed to be mostly competitive, with real deck-building creativity being pushed aside
This is a logical fallacy.  Competitive decks needs to be creatively built before they can be played.  At the highest levels, creative deck building is the key to being competitive.  At all levels, if you want to crack the metagame you need to be create a deck builds that beats the most popular decks.  Just because that creativity takes places in a competitive context doesn't make it any less creative.  It just makes it less 'silly'.  Too many complainers seem to think that creativity means silliness, which is not true.
Competitive metagames are adaptive processes, exactly like evolution.  You can't have evolution without variation.  In Hearthstone, that means creative experimentation in deck building.
Too many apologists seem to think that changing 2 cards to 2 other already considered popular and viable cards in a preexisting popular deck is 'creativity'.

The game used to be a lot slower, and thus lets you tinker and play around with different decks

When?  In Alpha, maybe.  From Open Beta on, people have been saying exactly the same thing.  Back then they complained about Zoo and Face Hunter.  That complaint has been the same for the entire life of the game, the only thing that changes is the name of the current fast decks.
People want to win.  If you can't deal with that, perhaps games in general are not for you...
The game has definitely had very slow periods post-alpha.  Don't get hyperbolic please.  Mods should be better than that.

posted a message on Is Standard harder than HS ladder used to be ?
    Quote from SwagpanterNL >>
    Quote from wg15 >>

I would definetly say it is harder, and I have played multiple legend seasons.

The standard mode in the current form is definetly not a blessing to this game. Because of the small variety of cards there is only a small room for deck buildings. And because of that the aggro decks are more efficent than they have ever been before. Not only efficient, but they are way more friendlier to misplays and the lack of direct counters.

For example, if you did not trade well before WotoG as a Zoolock and went full face, wasted your ressources like Dwarf and PO for face damage...you had a high chance to lose this game. It was all about efficient trading. That's still the case. But there are several new cards where you can fill up your board again. And others classes don't have enough early removals to counter it (and as long as removals stay expensive af it will never change). You can easily turn around your misplays. Same for the Midrange Hunter with Call of the wild, 8 mana and you have 3 bodies and minimum 5 damage this turn on the board. Only the shaman does not have the refill mechanic, but the shaman snowballs extremely. If you stop their early game you probably win. If you can't or only can do it too late their spells or Doomhammer will probably end it. Hand in hand with the BGH nerf. If he would still be 3 mana the 7/7 would not be as OP as it is right now.

Before WoToG you had some other cancerous decks. But they were easier to counter. Mysterious Challenger? If you counter him once perfectly the paladin almost already loses. Facehunter? Deathlords and so on, was pretty easy to counter in the end.

The bigger the card pool becomes more things will change I guess. But I bet with the next rotation the same problems will appear again.

plz stop saying aggro is better than ever. that's a straight up lie. remember the times of undertaker? those were the times aggro dominated.  aggro hasn't been as good as it was during undertaker eversince.
Nope.   You're absolutely wrong.  Undertaker was nowhere near as bad as Shaman because if you removed it you won the game.  Not the case with Tunnel Trog.  There were also a TON of crucical control cards that got removed for every class except Warrior.  Agro is at its peak right now and you're retarded if you think otherwise.  Answers have never been so limited and the agro curve has never been so easy to fill with perfect cards.

posted a message on Standart sucks a$$ PERIOD.
    Quote from Toymachine >>

It's not Standart it's Standard. And it doesn't suck, it's great. Balance was never better in Hearthstone, and exactly cos of that it's harder to climb since more skill is needed to actually win, which you obviously lack.

Check out that salt thread and search some coaching

Standard is so horrible lol.  The game has never been more boring, homogenized, and flowcharted.  Skill isn't needed, only time and an aggressive net deck.  Diversity and playstyle in Wild is INSANELY better because people actually play fun and interesting decks since Wild Legend doesn't get you anything.  Standard needs like 2 more cycles of content cuts before it's even worth talking about.  Standard is disgustingly, horrendously boring and shitty.

Deck cap is 70 in Legends, though there is little to no reason you would ever make a deck with more than 50 cards (because thinning your deck is bad).  Also there kind of are classes in a sense because there are dual attribute epics and legendaries that only work with specific color combos, not to mention all of the combos have class names like spellsword, sorcerer, etc.

Also Legends is quietly by far the best CCG since Hearthstone.

    Quote from Faustreau >>

This brawl sounds fun, but after some play, it turns out this might be the most disgusting, unbalanced, and most boring at all, because of mechwarper + something else, or Coldlight Oracle + Naturalize fatigue shit... most players seems to be like don't have creativity and they play dirty.

I used Jorney Below + Defias Ringleader. You know why? Just for fucking fun, not to make the foe concede. I wanted to PLAY with 'em NOT being asshole with em, like others did.

So screw this brawl. It's not about I can play it or not - its about ENJOYING a brawl. And that's why this brawl does not enjoyable. IMO.

The broken OP combos ARE the fun part.  Your thing sounds dumb.

Probably not.  Standard is the biggest change Hearthstone has ever had in one patch.  Beta players have been waiting 2 years for this.

    Quote from Poghy >>

The fact that they didnt nerf Divine Favor is more disapponting than any nerf.

There could be another round in the future but to say these are disappointing is absurdly laughable.  This tiny little list of 12 changes is the most drastic and best change to Hearthstone since the game released.
