The Darkness along with Fal'dorei Strider will wreck Razakas Priest in a new Rogue deck

    1) Raza priest will become tier 2/3 decks as lots of people including myself will be putting The Darkness into all my decks to shut them down. All the  potential EZ big decks should make Raza priest miserable as well. If Raza continues to be tier 1, i'll probably quit HS.

    2) Any of the Druid decks that ramps hard will become top tier as will there isn't much from stopping them. Will look for the vid where turn 6 druid plays Kun + Medive => Twig + UI and instant conceal.

    3) Tempo Rogue and Zoolock decks will become tier 2 as there are way too many AOEs now

İ dont think the darkness will stop the razakus. They have death, kazakus potion and new board clear to deal with it
Are we still into this? The primary purpose of playing The Darkness is to deactivate Raza and Kaza because they will now have duplicates in their deck. The 20/20 is just Plan B is you will...you should not be counting the 20/20 as a win condition.
Can't see how The Darkness is a strong counter to Razakus. Yes, if you play him on curve he will be a pain in the ass but you really need to play him before the Priest plays Raza. If the priest plays Raza first the darkness  only affects Kazakus, and he is dispensable. So the entire strategy of the darkness revolves around playing the darkness before Raza.

Well, as long as at least 2 candles aren't drawn, Raza will stay in hand, giving you a few turns to rat it out.
You missed my point. You actually need to draw The Darkness before Raza for him to work, and since he is a legendary it will not happen often.
Jesus Christ, the darkness is the worst tech card in the history of tech cards! Which decks exactly do all you people plan on putting him in?? Tempo decks? If you're playing this on turn 4 in your tempo deck then that is game-losing. If you play this in control decks you will lose anyways and it's soo bad vs aggro that you can't run it. And let's think about it for a second...the only time this is effective is when this is played on turn 4 and the priest has razanduin available on curve, which is less than half as likely as having razanduin on curve. And in order for this tech to be successful it has to be in a deck that loses vs razanduin on curve but beats them when they don't have it on curve. The only decks I can think of are the slower druid decks and some mid-range decks, but putting the darkness in those decks will make your winrate vs aggro so much worse.
To me the darkness is actually a powerful tech card vs priest, and druid. Both classes are very draw heavy atm meaning you can very quickly get the 20/20 which vs druid means they can’t kill it since they have no hard removal. Then vs priest the candles help shut down raza and kazakus which means they have a harder time since no free hero power, no potion (aoe), and also their entire win condition is gone for a while. That makes some decks have room to breath and possibly overwhelm the priest. Plus they also have to save removal for the 20/20.
This, all kinds of this.  This is not a direct counter to razakus, but can help stall the game a bit. What this does do is punish decks that don't run a lot of hard removal (Druid). If you are against a Druid and play this, if they don't run BGH, what are they going to do against this?

posted a message on Impression of what will happen to Kathrena

Control hunter has always been my favorite deck as well, so I like what you are saying. I've been playing prince in mine as well, and it has been great so far. I ended up moving to a heavy tech, heavy draw DK hunter which included prince to a great success (except of course always lost to razakus so never really got higher than 7 on ladder), but I consider that a successful non-aggro hunter deck in my mind.

That being said, with this new legendary, we finally have a better toy to play with. After thinking through all of it, there are a few issues/praises I have with your deck.

    1. I think your particular deck is too top heavy. The problem with control hunter is your hero power does nothing at all to influence the board, so you can't really get away with hero powering the first 10 turns at all.

    2. Thank you for not adding the new copy a deathrattle in this deck, it doesn't fit with all the high mana cost you have going on. That being said, I think n'zoth doesn't fit well here. Especially with running the greedier Harrison, you will run into hands where you can't play anything more often than not, and run into the same problem of having to hero power early.

    3. Deathstalker rexaar imo, after playing many decks revolving around him, does not fit in a deck that has any card with a mana cost higher than him. If you want to play deathstalker, I would make a deck with heavy draw, and heavy tech because after you play him, you want to hero power for your cards, not have a king crush stuck in your hand. Playing BaB cards mean you aren't playing your other cards, so you will sooner or later get overloaded with your hand.

    4. I love candleshot, one of the best cards for control hunter imo. 2 is possible too much, but maybe not if you get rid of some secrets for your bow (see number 6)

    5. Play dead is just greedy. A low mana card that you won't play unless bowman is on the field, essentially making this another card you can draw early that you won't play until turn 8.

    6. I really don't like explosive trap at all, but that could just be me. I would much rather make them lose tempo with freezing trap, or just take it out altogether, and just run the one secret.

    7. Not enough beasts imo. You currently have 3 (which are great choices, yay for finally adding king crush), and then whatever you make from BaB (which I explained I think should be taken out). I ran into this same problem, and the solution I came up with is bloodworm. This gives you 5 beasts total, which should be enough, but doesn't kill you if you draw a couple. Another option I thought of is adding cave hydras, bloodworms, and then bonemares, but that's too heavy again with legendary and 3 top beasts.

    8. You lack some card draw. You are putting some heavy weight on Harrison (which I think should be taken out anyway) to draw through your deck. I do love stitched tracker for this reason, but it looks like you will be wanting to find bowman/kathrena with this, so that doesn't actually help your hand on turn 3 when you are struggling.

So here is is what I would would do with this deck:

Take out: nzoth, Harrison, explosive trap, play dead, and deathstalker. This gives you 7 cards to work with.

Put in: 2 bloodworm (for 5 beasts total), 2 flare (stick with me on this, 2 mana draw a card is not the worst thing ever, especially if you have none. Plus it gives good counters to heavily played cards /imgonnagethateforthisone), 2 loot hoarder (you really need draw), and then For the last card, leave it to tech. If you see weapons all over the place, put either an ooze or Harrison back in. If the darkness actually happens to help again razakus, throw that in. If pirates come back, throw a Crawler in. I typically like to leave more than one spot open for tech, but I like the way you made the deck, so I'm cool with this.

Since you have not bought any of the packs, you will get a legendary within the first 10 packs of each expansion. So I would make sure to buy at least 10 of each. $80 may not be enough, but the preorder is still available for Kobolds That might be enough to get a base of cards for the expansion and 10 more packs than regular prices. That leaves $30, I would go knights more than Ungoro. Then over time buy packs to fill in.

He is buying the packs. You are not practical. He will open less packs in this way.
Why does him buying the packs change anything?  If you are saying he will spend more money, then just don't purchase the extra 10 packs, and only get 70.  If he wants to be totally efficient, just get the 30 and be done with it. You will get 3 legendaries for sure with only 30 packs, but if you do 40/40, you are only guaranteed 2 legendaries for over double the packs.

Should get 10 packs of each of the expansions that will stay for the next rotation (Ungoro, KoFT, Kobolds), and then the rest whatever you want.  They changed it so that you are guaranteed a legendary in the first 10 packs of an expansion you haven't opened up a pack for yet, so you will get the most bang for your buck by spreading it out.

For the rest, I would go at least 50 into one (10 pity limit first legendary, 40 pity second legendary), which leaves you with 10 extra to either save for later when you want to go for a certain card from a class you like, or to use on whatever you want.

posted a message on New Warlock Legendary - Rin, the First Disciple

I think Rin shines the most in disco lock.  Disco lock actually has a ton of draw power to bring her out, and if you discard her, it doesn't feel like you lost the game because she's just another win condition now added to DK and 3/2 spam.

I already know people will say Rin is a terrible idea in disco lock, and here is my reaction to that ahead of time.  First of all, you shouldn't play rin until your quest is completed.  If you have to discard her, thats fine, just do it, if you get to keep her even better.  Second, yes, Rin requires turns 6-11 to be thrown out the window (with a small amount of wiggle room, which discolock uses a large amount of small mana cards), but as discolock with the quest done, you are already getting 2 3/2 a turn as well to add with the trash value that Rin takes.  Third, Rin's completion helps discolock with one of its main problems if you actually complete the quest; eventually you will run out of cards.  Rin DOES NOT (I think in any case, not just Discolock) win you the game, it simply puts the enemy ahead of you in fatigue.  The few times that Discolock finally did work out for me, I found myself eventually grinded down into a loss anyway.  Rin helps thin out their deck as well since you go through yours so fast.  Fourth and lastly, Rin is only one of a couple of secondary win conditions of Discolock.  With Rin, the DK, and now the Darkness in your deck (people say rin and darkness are terrible together blah blah blah, if rin gets completed, you are likely either losing that turn, or just going to win anyway, so don't give me that crap), you have 3 potential win conditions where it no longer matters that "oh ****, I just discarded my DK, now I don't stand a chance".

Here is my deck I will be using on Thursday-

    Discolock Triple Threat
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (22) Ability (7) Playable Hero (1)
    Loading Collection

    Thanks for listening, /rant /hopefordiscolock

posted a message on Ben Brode said this expansion was about TREASURE...

If it's about treasure, why is there not a single pirate in the expansion looking for it?  Was just making a pirate weapon rogue deck and realized not a single pirate is in this new expansion when the one word Brode used when asked to explain it was TREASURE. Feels bad man.

posted a message on Did Baby Brann just make Jade Shaman a thing?

The real question to ask yourself when about to make any new deck is "how does this deck beat razakus?"

If the answer is "it doesn't" (in the case of jade shaman, and many other theoreycrafted decks right now), then no, it won't be a thing.

I'm confused for the combo on this one, you can't king and Hemet on the same turn like you can king explore, so what is stopping them from just trading the deck right back?

posted a message on New Shaman Minion - Murmuring Elemental

Is no one thinking of the repercussions of this? When brann came out, blizz limited themselves to never making a new card with an exciting battlecry. Now that he has been rotated out, they are able to do that again, but now with this card, they are saying that for the next year and three months, there won't ever be a neautral or shaman battlecry worth getting excited about because it would be too strong with this card. Feels bad man.

posted a message on I actually think Vicious Syndicate has become part of the problem

I've been playing with my rendition of the tier -12 deck, quest Druid and have been destroying everyone. For some reason I keep seeing a lot of DK Mage, and then of course %70 jade Druid which I absolutely destroy because 0 removal and skulking Geist. Have yet to lose to one yet.

All that to say, I don't care at all about netdecks, the big advantage I have on them is that I know exactly what there deck is and they always do the "wow" emote when I play quest turn one and have no clue what my deck is.

Yeah, murlocs with two vicious fledging and just resetting till you get good rng is basically how I won over half of mine. I like where they went with the challenges, but there is really no way to design around it besides having a random ban on all murlocs.

posted a message on Can you do 1 Bilion damage to LICH KING ? yes you can !
    Quote from ArgentumEmperio >>

I usually don't do any of these things because I don't find them all that fun to setup but... they are fun to watch and read about, folks that create infinite loops as well as doing these degrees of damage.

So I must say I'm curious about this tho'; how do you surpass the ever ticking damage from Remorseless Winter? I can see all the other things one way or another but not how you can get an near infinite amount of armour considering that the hero power will actually do an infinite amount of damage over time?

It's a bug that warrior can do with kel thuzad and public defender in which he will always be at the state with his weapon essentially doing nothing. Then when you want to finish him off with a billion damage, you just kill off the last 2/6. So he never actually uses remorseless winter.

posted a message on The next hero skin

If blizzard were smart, it would be Druid, and they would do it soon.

Look at league, a couple months ago, cait became the top tier adc by far. So what does riot do? Immediately release a legendary skin for her, pulsefire cait since everyone is playing her. They release the skin, cait remains top tier for a month or so, then they finally come out with the nerfs when the skin hype dies down.

Think about it, it would be perfect for Druid. Everyone complaining about %90 of ladder being Druid, so release a skin, most people will buy it, then wait a month and start finally nerfing the cards. Genius.
