For me it is simply the worst deck you can encounter in ladder. It is absolutely boring and non-interactive. I like midrange/board control decks; since I think that is the essence of HS. But this deck it's just an abuse of sloppy Blizzard design. It is simply too many freeze and AoE spells, frost nova + doomsayer is one of the most frustating combos in the game, and emperor just make all this just way too stupid and disgusting.
I hope standard help a bit with a more diverse ladder, I just can't stand facing one secret pala after the other, stupid brokeback druids, face decks (shaman and hunter), and of couse, when you have a rest from that, freeze mages...

It seems that you are a new player, but Quartermaster, though it can be very good, is just too inconsistent for the likes of this deck. Quartermaster needs a slower, midrange/control build, and a more token centered style. You almost never want to make tokens with this deck since you have many cheap cards, and furthermore, you have the possibility of Sir Finley enter into the game. If you don't have Leeroy I recommend you to use Arcane Golem, to mantain the "spirit" of the deck.
Of course try the Quartermaster and draw your own conclusions. :D

It is OP yes, probably the most OP combo in the game right now, after the warsong nerf. It is considered the strongest deck in the meta by the pros. Classes have OP and broken things, but the real question is: is it fun to play or play against? In the old patron warrior, there was a lot of strategy, only the combo was stupid, not fun to play against. In druid is pretty straightforward, not much strategy required, so not much fun to play (but it is fun to win, granted), with such a combo and high health mana accelerated minions.
I also have issues of that kind with freeze mage, but I can tolerate its burst since requires more mental effort. But that is a different topic.

I got here because I was in a really nice and peaceful win streak with my midrange pally (I'm at rank 8 atm), until a stupid double combo druid with its mindless plays left me all salty and wanting to look for forums of other salty people whining about that f** combo.
Now I feel better and can go on laddering. <3

I just wanted to say that I hate freeze mages almost as much as face hunters, cheese decks! Thank you <3

Two Chows are really good for consistency. You want to see them often in your opening hand as you have said. Since this deck is slow, having two copies is not really much problem since it is a 1 mana card and excellent for fill the curve in some early/mid game turn, for example, turn 3 shielded mini bot + chow, or even hero power + chow. I do not recommend at all cutting one.

I am by no means an expert, but I have been laddering a lot with midrange pally, and these are some suggestions.
The main problem with midrange IMO is the drawing mechanic. Lay on hands is excellent, as it has a double utility, but expensive, so you need more alternatives. For that, I run two Acolyte of Pain, and normally my hand has enough options to choose from.
Loatheb is an excellent tempo card, and that is what you really need in midrange pally. Tempo cards, which help removal while preserving your board or buffing your minions. The same can be said about a big absent in your deck, the Coghammer.
Regarding taunts, I have tried 2 Sludge Belcher, 2 Argus, and I am getting to the conclusion that you don't need so much taunt, but just some. You already have a huge Tirion Fordring for that (I still lack that card :/), you could use the Coghammer (versatile card), and maybe just one copy of Argus and Belcher, since I think two copies of them is just too slow.
Murloc Knight is excellent to fill the board, but it is not a true 4 mana card. I run only one copy and I think is good enough for most games. The same can be said about Quartermaster, excellent card, but having one or even two copies in hand while not having a board with some dudes feels bad. I don't have Justicar though, and if I have it I think I'd come back to 2 copies of him.
Take a look to my deck, maybe you could have some thoughts about it too, happy to hear!
