Hard to replace, it's a great card and really shine against some boards. You can try betrayal but it is not nearly as effective. If you have the rogue legendaries, any of them would fit.
For rogues, it is a budget deck indeed. Also, it uses the two most popular Legendaries right now (N'zoth and Sylvannas), so for most players you can discount 3200 dust right there.
If you read the description, wich i think you did not, you are going to see that i was looking to build a rogue deck that is cheaper then the current rogue variations, without class specific legendaries or epic cards.
But for those who like to complain, everything is a reason, right?
Yes you are right. I even lost a fame once, when i played N'zoth on a board with C'thun, and the guy hit the brawl and C'thun survived.. nothing i could do after that. (i did not play Sylv before playing N'zoth, so that fucked me up an extra bit).
Assassinate is a viable card to consider and your reasoning is right. I don't like teching too hard as going into ooze, because that messes up with the synergies. I only find myself teching like this if i feel like the match is unwinabble without the tech. But it's a personal preference.
Hunters are about finding a 2 drop and a 3 drop. Mulligan HARD for Backstab, SI:Agent and huckster. If you have absolutely nothing good on your hand, Journey Below could be kept to try to fish for a 2 drop. Usually we can win when we outtempo the hunter with backstab, and then we switch to face to make him do the trading - but he HAS to be behind on board for this strategy to suceed.
Some RNG makes it hard tho - if he finds Freezing trap too soon is bad for us - and also if he finds two copies of Call of the Bullshit, as duly noted by you.
The trick is to force the damage on him when you find backstab early and dominate the board. Once he goes defensive the game is yours. I'm always sitting at 50% wr tho.
A budget deck will usually have less overall power than any deck filled with legendaries. The idea was to make a viable rogue that could climb, even if the winrate is not really impressive. This list does the job. As for your list, it is great too!
Did not have enough time to elaborate on it, but i'll post something non-budget as soon as possible. I'm testing some cool stuff envolving Twilight Summoner and Shadowcaster. I'll keep you posted as soon as i've got a good sample.

Sorry that you don't like it anyways.

Both are great. I think Xaril is more versatile, and can help find a little bit of extra tempo, but vancleef is indeed a more powerful drop.

It's a budget ROGUE deck. If you compare it to any rogue variation, you are going to see it's like half the dust cost.

Glad to hear that man! Keep it up!!
