Just put this together and it play tested very good in a small sample. Will try on legend tomorrow. Similar to taunt druid package but uses Witching Hour with Devilsaur with Savage Roar to hit for 20 damage a turn after Alextrasza for TTK rather that stone walling like traditional taunt druid. It will catch a lot of people by surprise as they expect a different deck and get burst down unexpectedly. Thoughts?
While it is possible that our lists may be similar I have been playing Spell hunter since Barnes an Y'Shaarj was in the deck and just made the right changes when those cards rotated.
I'm not a fan of rat trap. Against control you will likely never get a proc. The card people generally take out for it is freezing. I see so much more value from freezing because it not only "heals" you, but is a tempo breaker, and also deals with buffs or against high cost minions makes them unplayable. It's just a more consistent card imo. If the meta turned heavily to aggro then i could see rat trap being ok.
I'm glad you liked the deck. Mulligans are fairly obvious imo. Against aggro keep Candleshot, grievous wound, explosive trap, hounds- if i have one or two of these I would keep rexxar also. Against control keep either legendary and any secrets if I had spellstone. Some people may disagree but i never keep tracking even though it was a 1 drop. I would rather have some thing that impacts the game early and then pick which resource I draw into later in the game. Also a strong point of the deck is double secrets in to turn 4 or 5 Spellstone. If the opponent can't answer that you likely win so keep those cards in mind while mulliganing. The more you play the more obvious the plays get. The deck can win by turn 6 with the right cards so it is fast went you want it to be, but know that against quest priest that strategy likely wont work and you just wasted a lot of damage as an example. That's a game that DK hero power will win you in the long game. GL :)
Priest is it's hardest matchup for sure. Between dusk breaker and scream it's tough. I found that in the games I beat priest it was a result of DK hero power.
I'm not sure tbh. I dont have a tracker but it felt fast only reason why I knew the rank 3 up was because it was so recent. In full disclosure I started at rank 8 tried some other decks and fell to 10. Said fuck it and started playing this deck after the 1st week. So 2 weeks to get to legend a couple hours a day? It's the only class that isn't 60 for me and I wanted something that noone else plays. I think I only saw 1 or 2 spell hunters on ladder total.
Been playing since Beta and finally made it to Legend. Used this list 100% from rank 10 to Legend. About 70% WR. I climbed from 3 to Legend with a 20-5 record post nerf.
well there are only two legendarys and two epics in the deck so it's not that expensive. I enjoyed the deck a lot. It's the only class that isn't level 60 for me and I started during beta. No one is playing spell hunter on ladder so people don't always know how to play against it. I went from 5 to legend in about 8 hours of playing this week. It's weak to priest but has good match ups everywhere else.
You will still be able to attack with the weapon. It will just deal 0 damage. That is why there is durability. Play and swing. that means you will only draw 6 cards assuming you swing the next two turns as well. 6 cards for 6 mana is crazy value, with out the thread of fatigue. 9 cards for 6 mana is either better value.

As others have said they are the core of the deck and you have 0 late game without them.
