sonicthenanobot posted a message on Unearthed RaptorPosted in: Unearthed RaptorMage: My 3 drop gives us both spells :) strictly better than Spider Tank
Priest: Well My 3 drop gives 3 health to a minion when it dies.
Warior: Mine has taunt and is a beast for some reason.
Rogue: Mine makes Piloted Shredder, Dr. Boom, and Sylvanas Windrunner more useful, and lets me get 7/8 for 3 mana if i get a Nerubian Egg ;).
Mage: :(
Priest: :(
Warior: :) Its ok I still got my monkey for arena.

KitKiama posted a message on Tomb PillagerPosted in: Tomb PillagerAs a rogue player, this is easily my favorite card in the set. With Unearthed Raptor, this card ALONE is to me what makes Anub'arak make SO much more sense w/ his high cost. With access to coins, we are able to get him out just abit faster now. OR store it after turn 9 to put him out for cheaper as well. Coin in rogue has always been strong, and with this card, unearthed, and my other fav Rogue card who doesn't see much play sadly (Cutpurse), it only becomes that much stronger.
A 5/4 for 4 is still good. Either you kill it and give coin, or keep in on field and let it swing for GOOD damage. Win/win in my book :)
EDIT: Also turn 3 coining into Tomb Pillager isn't a bad play in my opinion. If anything, you force opponent to burn resources into him and then you recycle said coin back into your hand :) Playing either him or Shredder to me is not a bad play. I almost look at him like a slightly stronger (stat wise anyway) class Shredder.

James1225 posted a message on Tomb PillagerPosted in: Tomb PillagerI think we're forgetting what class this card is for. Maybe that's because rogue hasn't had a tier 1 deck in quite some time. Rogue's extremely effective at gaining tempo come turn 3, even against up to 3 opposing minions, and often with a 3/3 on board or a 3/1 weapon - sometimes even both. This card doesn't die to Shredder, Shredder dies to Rogue.
Kolento stated that its 'the best card in the set' and I'm beginning to agree.

Just play this guy alongside with Shredders, who cares it dies to it? You are also playing your Shredders as well, so your opponent will have to deal with them as well.
5/4 for 4 mana with a good deathrattle=GOOD. Yes, its not super insane but TOTALLY PLAYABLE.

Noctune posted a message on How much is LoE going to impact the game?Posted in: General Discussioni think the following card will see play in good decks and gimmicky decks:
Mounted Raptor (combo druid, beast druid) - combo druid never had a great 3 drop besides shade..... beast druid only has druid of the flame
Ethereal Conjurer (tempo midrange) - Yes, its a 6/3 stat, and its a shitty stat that can be kill by 3-4 cost drop... easily kill with a spell, but its always a +1 in your favor, you are basically burning their removal (or face spells) or their minions and you have a surprise spell for them.
Forgotten Torch (Echo Mage, Tempo Mage) - I do feel echo mage tends to go through their deck pretty fast and compare to freeze mage, they have a bit more flexiblity on the cards they can play.... as for tempo mage, i m willing to test it out.... having more ammo for wyrm and waker is good, just a bit random.....
Keeper of Uldaman (Midrange Pally, Ebolapally) - the ability to turn your worse match up like handlock or power your muster for battle tokens could make this card playable......
Entomb (9/4 priest, dragon priest) - 9/4 priest always could use a removal that double up as a cheap random mind control, the two deck can also use entomb to remove threat that isn't normally easy for them to deal with (like Tirion)
Museum Curator (dragon priest, possible new deck type) - Besides Wyrmrest Regent, I dont remember them having too many great 2 drops, this can fill the slot nicely while a new deck type is possible as well, priest is one of the class that can easily power a undertaker one turn after another and their 3 drop death rattle is better than many of the other 3 drop death rattle i think
Tomb Pillager (Maly Rogue) - when you need to combo out for that eviscerate game or just need to drop maly a turn early so you can backstab something to death......
Tunnel Trogg (Totem Shaman, Maly Shaman, Crusher Shaman) - basically all 3 decks run enough overload card to warrant this
Dark Peddler (Zoolock) - not the best stat, but the chance to fetch mortal coil, flame imp, and power overwhelming does make it seems alright.... add onto cards like abusive sergent, leper gnome, zombie chow.... its not bad.....
Arch Thief Rafaam (Communion Druid) - gimmicky card for gimmicky deck
Reno Jackson (30 legend) - gimmicky card for gimmicky deck
Brann Bronzebeard (possible new deck type, totemic shaman, crusher shaman, mage dragon, priest dragon, shaman dragon, pally dragon) - sure the majority of battlecry creature sucks, but do you realize how many battlecry minions do people actually have in their decks? like tons! the ones that are being play is already cream of the crop for their respective deck, making this a must kill target that can eat up a removal or a silence for your later drops.
Sir Finley Mrrgglton (control shaman, crusher shaman) - for decks that runs nothing to synergize their hero power and need the extra damage output or suvivalibility, I am tempted to put control rogue, but rogues need blade flurry
Naga Seawitch (handlock, ramp druid, maly shaman, control warrior) - the idea is to make everything you have that are high cost cheaper. Now imagine the possibility of facing a turn 6 jaraxxus. or turn 6 malygos, or turn 6 ysera.
tomb spider (midrange hunter) - its not exactly a piloted shredder, but at least you get a trigger for ram wrangler
huge toad (face hunter) - its a really overcost leper gnome, but its better than playing a knife juggler on turn 2......

I'm lovin this lil bug in my Midrange Hunter, and Dragon Jackson, (Dragon Pally w/ Reno), decks. It's a lot better than I initially thought, especially for any class that has great 3 cost cards.
2
Yep, and that makes the Discover mechanic a lot better than most people initially thought. It was a great idea, unlike the gawdawful Joust mechanic that hampers so many TGT cards.

Hands down the coolest spell animation of any buff, and still relevant in competitive decks today. Gotta love BoK.

It's just an artifact of Alpha card text. You can find additional examples of this on other Classic cards; e.g. the capitalization of "ALL" on Baron Geddon, Murloc Warleader, "HIMSELF" on Injured Blademaster, etc.

Divine Favor rewards more aggressive decks, but only against slower opponents. Against aggro, it's often literally useless. It's unfortunate that your prejudice prevents you from recognizing that.
1
Well, it's no Naxxramas, that's for sure. Brann Bronzebeard will probably have more impact than Baron Rivendare, though.
We'll see some weird decks with Golden Monkey and maybe even Reno Jackson. It's unclear whether or not there's anti-synergy there and the Monkey replaces Reno with another Legendary when you play it, but we'll see. I expect there will be new "Deathrattle Control" Rogue decks as well, but I don't think that Unearthed Raptor is enough to make that a thing, though it is one of the better LoE cards and Rogue needs the help. Shaman gets a little boost as well, and Shammy Murloc Aggro decks may emerge, especially since they can use Sir Finley Mrrgglton to ditch their Totems for a more aggressive Hero Power early in the game. Murloc Shammy with Life Tap, Fire Blast, or Steady Shot could be a headache to deal with.
Anyway, a lot of the cards are interesting and have potential, but they're all pretty "fair". I don't see anything "broken" in the whole set, (though Brann Bronzebeard might come close).
I'll be buying LoE with gold. I'm in no particular rush to get it. Ymmv.
2
Whatever the new Murlocs do when played from hand is irrelevant to Midrange Paladin, as the only Murlocs in the deck are Knights. I have about 0 interest in playing "Murloc Paladin", imo that will be gimmicky at best, (ymmv). However, I think we can all agree that 99% of the time; the best possible result from Murloc Knight's Inspire effect is another Murloc Knight. Old Murk Eye, Warleader, and Siltfin are all very strong too. Any new Murlocs added to the game decrease your chances of getting these results, and when the added Murlocs have terrible stats, this is a de facto nerf of the card.
3
Good ol Murloc Knight will be nerfed when LOE comes out... new 1/1 and 1/2 crap Murlocs are being added to the pool of possible results from the Inspire effect. :/

I think Loatheb deserves consideration too, certainly above The Black Knight and Mind Control Tech. He still shines in a lot of different decks, to protect your board and/or prevent the opponent from bursting you down, (Mages, Druids, Hunters in particular), the following turn. With his stats, he's also good as a turn 5 tempo play, depending on the board state.

I replaced the Haunted Creepers in my Midrange Hunter with these little elephants, (also took out hootyhoot for a second Hunter's Mark), and I've been extremely pleased with the results. King's Elekk draws consistently enough, (especially vs aggro), that it's easily the best Joust card in the game.
