I'm running a pair of these in a tempo deck and that's exactly right. People don't want to kill this unless you don't have a weapon up, and if they choose not to, this fugly squid can do back-breaking damage with a nice Cold Blood applied in the mid-game, and will still buff your weapon when the opponent is forced to then use resources to kill it. If they can't, then they're just dead. It's not crazy powerful, but still a potent card.
Aggro Shaman is the most annoying opponent for me.. because if they get the perfect draw, you're just dead before you can do anything about it.
I don't mind Freeze Mage. They're slow, so you almost always have time to draw the common tech cards that can defuse their win condition, (Loatheb, Antique Healbot/s).
I usually don't like playing against Control Priest, because of all their fuckery, but strong Combo decks beat em, which I've enjoyed playing recently, especially Malylock.
Cards are nerfed because they are too good/powerful or because they are a part of a deck that is too powerful/annoying to play against. Tomb Pillager isn't very good card and Miracle Roque isn't too good deck
It is not a very powerfull deck now, and let me remind you that people said the same thing about Mysterious Challenger, Dr. Boom and Grim Patron, and where are we now? Divided into "let's nerf Dr. Boom already!" and "let's nerf Mysterious Challenger already!" camps. Well, that is a bit of exaggeration really, but nonetheless.
Just because some players want certain cards nerfed, that doesn't mean it's going to happen.
Grim Patron wasn't nerfed. Warsong Commander was, (~6 months after BRM), because it allowed OTKs from well above 30 effective HP.
There's no card in LoE that is crazy powerful, or that allows anywhere near OTK potential. I don't expect that any of them will be changed.
However, most LoE cards are very good, and the Adventure is definitely worth getting.
Yep. Most classes don't do well when you attempt to make them do something they're not naturally suited to... which is why "Control Rogue" and "Control Hunter" are gawdawful. ;)
Besides in the one good rogue deck. I want to see it good as a single card, not in some stupid combotastic win con.
It is good as a single card, whenever Harrison Jones is unpopular.
As for "stupid combotastic win con", that's what Rogue does best, whether you like it or not. Ideally, you use Deadly Poisons and/or Tinker's Sharpsword Oil on the Blade, smack the opponent in the face a couple times, then finish with a Blade Flurry, (plus whatever other damage you have available). If you don't like playing that way, Rogue may not be your cup o' tea.
It's a little better now that Tomb Pillager makes it easier to Combo. However, it really needs to be a 2/3, (with the same effect), to be worth using. Until then, Assassin's Blade is better, which is a real shame, considering that's a Basic card. Death's Bite is a lot better than Fiery War Axe and Arcanite Reaper. :/
I've played this deck several times against the new Miracle Rogue. In every case, I've killed them before they could pull off too many shenanigans with Gadgetzan Auctioneer, even though they drew more cards. I love using this deck against the new Control Priests on ladder. They absolutely cannot handle an Oiled up Assassin's Blade, whereas they can easily Lightbomb, Shadow Word: Death, or even Entomb a large minion threat like Dr. Boom. Let's hope that Harrison Jones stays unpopular for awhile. ;)
I just checked Firebat's last broadcast on Twitch, and yep, it was him. It's the second game after starting the stream, before the deckdoctoring started.
..at rank 14. Who knows, it may have actually been him. It's early in the month and he was playing Golden Oil Rogue, (not all the cards, the Hero portrait), with the basic card back.
It was a fun game. I was playing my Dragon Jackson deck;
I healed for 36 that game, ended up at 27 health with 6 cards in hand when he conceded. What finally did it was Brann enabling my Blackwing Corruptor to kill his 6/6 Van Cleef. He was out of threats and damage.
Maybe he was streaming and I'll be able to see if it was actually him. Either way, it was a great game, and Dragon Pally, (with certain LoE cards), seems kinda viable.
Consort is still better than Tuskarr Jouster, (and often better than Loatheb), and will get better over time, when more Dragons are introduced. Dragon Pally's gotten stronger since BRM; with the addition of Twilight Guardian, and recently Reno Jackson. Reno's been a huge help in my Dragon Jackson deck. It's mostly Highlander, with 3 pairs of the most essential cards for the archetype, and extra draw.

Imo, Violet Teacher is barely worth running in Oil Rogue and Token Druid.
She has no place whatsoever in Tempo Mage. Your 4 drops in that deck should be Piloted Shredders and/or Water Elementals.

Imo Bloodmage is more useful. I'd craft that first.

This is still an excellent card whenever Harrison Jones is unpopular.. like right about now. ;)

This is a damn good card in any Oil/Miracle variant. The Coins make so many more plays possible in the mid-late game.
Here's my Hybrid Raptor/Oil Rogue deck using it:

Guys, settle down. I never said that I was better than him, or even that I could beat him again.
It's just fun thinking that it's possible I ran into the former world champ randomly on the ladder, and won with a deck that's not exactly popular. :)

Anyway, here's a link to a couple screenshots I took:
