Not messing around here. Two games out of 3 vs. priest as paladin. Already strange. First game-Thoughsteal bounty = KT and Dr. Boom. Loss. Second game- 2 thoughtseals- Bounty? Two Tirions (TWO TIRIONS), an equality, and sylvanas. Loss, of course.  Holy guacamole.

posted a message on Looking for a Coach/Mentor

    Hey all.

So I'm looking to improve my game and was hoping that one of you kind souls out there might be down to check out a few of my games, give me some pointers, talk me through the thought process of somebody who is better at the game than I am. I'm not even sure where I'm making most of my mistakes right now. I want to learn. I made it to rank 10 in my first season (Feb) but I've been yo-yoing hard this season between 11 and like 15.

I play mostly Paladin, and I'm working on a control-ish deck right now. I have about 430 wins with the class, but, as mentioned, just yo-yo and never really get anywhere.

Happy to share my decklist or whatever that might help.  Lemme know and thanks in advance.

Ace deck man. Marching up the ladder as we speak. For me the priority in laddering is consistency (rather than speed), and this delivers in spades. I've haven't lost more than like 2-3 games in a row at any point so far. I tossed in an extra owl and dropped the chow, since I have the worst luck of all time getting it in opening hands and on mulligan EVER, and I didn't want two.

    Nice work.

posted a message on Scarlet Purifier is Playable

    Hear me out.

I know nobody runs Purifier at the moment, but here's my sales pitch for him as a 1-of in a competitive pally deck.

Getting face hunted by a board full of leper gnomes, clockwork gnomes, webspinners, mad scientists, and so on? PURIFY!

Need to push through a bit of extra damage on that pesky belcher? PURIFY!

Gotta get that clockwork gnome off the board before the inevitable turn 4 blastmage? PURIFY!

Want to activate your sylvanas but can't by just attacking anything? PURIFY!

Just need a serviceable 3 drop with higher attack than MCT and Aldor? PURIFY!

Now I can hear it already: "TOO SITUATIONAL!"

Of course he's too situational; he's a pally card. If you can't handle a hand full of pure situation cards, play another class.

Seriously y'all. Try it. I'm not saying he's a must have or anything, and you definitely don't need two, but as a 1-of surprise move with some good value in a lot of situations, I'm into it.

Pretty self-explanatory. If I'm missing anything post it. Please share the reasoning behind the vote! These aren't all guaranteed clears, but I figured I'd throw as much variety in as I could.

You're probably right about Tirion being too slow for this deck. I'd definitely try out the 2x Blood Knight and cog and see how that combo works out for sure. In this type of deck the coghammer is less for board control and more for activating the knight anyway. Interested to hear how it works out.

No Tirion? Since you're sort of working with some d-shields here (esp. with the blood knight), he seems like a natural inclusion. Similarly, you might want to find room for a coghammer. If you're using the blood knight, a coghammer+blood knight turn six can be nasty, and you get a taunt out of it. I'm not sure about what to cut for those, but maybe the avenging wrath and one redemption could go.

    Solid deck.

posted a message on What to Craft?

I have enough dust to craft exactly 1 legendary card. Here are the ones I'm missing.

    Gahz'rillaKing Krush

    Flame Leviathan

    Velen

    Gallywix

    Neptulon

    Al'Akir

    Mal'ganis

    Millhouse Manastorm

    Nat Pagle

    Mukla

    Blingtron

    ETC

    Hemet

    Mimiron

    Gelbin

    Hogger

    Illidan

    The Beast

    Toshley

    Gedden

    Foe Reaper

    Gruul

    Malygos

    Thermaplugg

    Nozdormu

    Onyxia

    Deathwing

Some context. I mostly play midrange paladin, mill druid, and some mech mage when I'm feeling troll-y. I'm thinking about putting together a control warrior deck. I have most of the "required" legendaries, but I'm looking for a some to flesh stuff out.

    Thoughts?

Thanks for the thoughtful response and advice on using reaver. The article was quite helpful and eased my mind about including the card, and thank goodness. It has already won me both of the games where I was able to drop it reasonably. In one I was just able to get it down on turn 4 and they had no answer, and in the second case a druid coined into combo to kill it, but burned their entire hand and couldn't keep up afterwards. So I suppose I've already seen the two most obvious ways it can win. I'm a convert.

Solid idea. The lack of activating mechs for tinkertown and blastmage is a big problem for me. I find myself a lot of the time with a 5 card hand of like 3 spare parts, a tinkertown, and a blastmage. Pretty much gg from there on. I've dropped down to 1 tinkertown for that reason. I think my biggest issue has always been card draw.

Talk to me about fel reaver. Has that been working out?
