Stonehill belongs in every deck. Aggro, midrange, control. It's the new Drake.

With nightbane templar and midnight drake in there, I want to see steward of darkshire. Maybe go more midrange.

posted a message on I thought this meta was more diverse?

It's more diverse in the sense that there are more competitive aggro decks. Now you can choose Hunter, Warrior, Shaman, Druid, Paladin, Mage or Rogue for your aggro deck.

posted a message on Group therapy! Need to blow off steam? Mega salty? Here is the place!

I never draft Hunter cuz I always arena poorly with him. So I read a hunter arena guide. Ready to give it another shot. Guide says the most important things are removal and curve. Get lots of 1's and 2's. I'm ready. 1's and 2's. Got it.

Am I offered 1's or 2's? No. I took every 1/2 drop I was offered. I ended up with a couple of 1-cost spells (smuggler's crate and arcane shot) and three 2-drops. That's it. 90 card offerings, and that's it. Plenty of 3's though! I can 3-drop you all day long!

It might be months before I try Hunter again. Might as well be drafting a Warrior.

posted a message on Is Hearthstone Pay to Win?

    My experience as a f2p:

Started over two years ago. Lost constantly to decks full of legendaries (Sylvannas into Boom into Grommash into Nefarian into...). You think about legendaries, but it also takes a year just to get the rares you need. Took me forever to get Eaglehorn Bow and Savannah Highmane.

I think I only stuck with it because I had enough "hearthstone" type moments where I won a game I should have lost or topdecked the perfect card. It did feel good to beat the decks with all the cards, even if it happened infrequently. Plus, HS would kick in the occasional "free" legendaries from adventures. Those were really nice to have. Loatheb!

Arena was great, and so was tavern when it started. Those are places a f2p can still experience the fun cards.

Eventually, I had some legendaries (Maly was my first and Doom was my first craft).

Early on, I was sure I was losing simply because I didn't have the cards that others had. Turns out I was right. My rank has grown slowly with my collection over the years. Skill and strategy is basic enough that it comes really quickly. The collection comes slowly.

Un'goro has been tough because so many of the good cards are legendaries or epics. On the other hand, just about any cheap aggro deck does fine in un'goro. When they announced quests, I thought for sure they would give one random quest free to everyone. They wouldn't introduce a new mechanic and not make it available to everyone, right?

Silvermoon Portal is baaad, mkay? Mkay. I'd replace it with Divine Strength, as was noted above. Other than that - i'll give it a shot! I love that you've included new Elise, my fav Leg this xpack.

When part of your gameplan requires buffing minions, opponents will try to keep the board clear of crap. That's why trying to buff hero power recruits and having minions that buff/spawn them is a bad idea for this quest. Getting a freebie expendable on a buff don't hurt -- unless that SOB draws a Doomsayer. But then again, that might keep the tempo in your court. Even better if the other guy wastes a silence on it. Big health minion to buff and exploit then.

Side note: Elise over Umbra? Debating on which next to craft from this expansion.
Still, if you're playing it on t4 - you can have other options. If Portal was 3 mana - It'd be borderline broken. At 4 mana it's piece of crap, unfortunately.
Sidenote: Elise is all kinds of awesome (the fun-awesome kind). Not that thrilled about Umbra.
it really should be 3 mana. tbf it would be .5 mana over the average pally card. the way it is now its about .5 under the average pally card.
I agree that Silvermoon Portal is a bad deal. But in a quest Paladin, you need minions to (1) make up for the deck slots taken by buff spells and (2) give you a target for buff spells.
I'm not sure about the portal vs Divine Strength, but it might not be so clear cut.

Are there any legendaries that you guys have opened in Ungoro and have found to just be completely useless?

I personally have foundTyrantus and King Mosh to be pretty bad but all of the rest of them have at least some sort of fringe usability.

I do disagree with you regarding King Mosh. I have put it in my Quest Warrior and it works great late game. It offers a board clear and leave a buddy on the board.
Mosh needed smaller stats and a lower cost to be a really good card. As is, why would I play Mosh over Deathwing?

I haven't seen it yet. Curious if it's a thing. Anyone using Crawler on their own swashburgler or N'Zoth first mate? Gives you an option in case your enemy doesn't have pirates? Kinda like blood knights in bubble pally?

posted a message on Where are all the "Reno" Decks in Standard?
    Quote from Skorri55 >>

I have thought about attempting a Raza Kazakus quest priest, but what do you really gain from the inclusion of those cards at the cost of consistency? The free hero power from Raza is  less useful with inspire minions gone to wild, and shadow form runs more risk with the loss of Reno. Kazakus is the main reason to build your deck with 1 ofs, but is it enough with the loss of bran as well?  I'm sure you can make a list and have some success but it feels like it's missing some key cards. Blizzard said that 1of cards is something that we could see more in the future so hopefully see these MSoG legendaries make a return sometime during year of the mammoth.

Get Beardo and Lyra in there with Raza and Kazakus. That's got to be worth something, right? Unfortunately, all I have is Beardo.
