Big loss for Odd Rogue. The extra damage from this card was very important to pressure the opponent early or to finish them later. It also gave the deck a small chance of beating its hard counters (Odd Warrior). Crazed Chemist is too slow for a deck that aims to be extremely aggressive and it is also a combo card which makes it even harder to use. And Deadly Poison is mostly a utility card that you use to remove enemy minions. I think Abusive Sergeant might be a better substitute, but it isn't very good for early pressure and doesn't help building a threatening board. Odd Rogue will need some serious adjustments imo.

It's an ok nerf. It didn't kill the card but made it much slower and susceptible to board clears. I don't think Even Hunter will be a thing in standard (maybe in wild). Despite the availability of Hunter's Mark and Lesser Emerald Spellstone, there's no filtering for deck at all. Spellstone is a power play for the deck but it's strength also comes from its ability to filter the secrets out of the deck with Subject 9 and Masked Contender. Without that, you will be relying on top decks a lot and it will be harder to find the correct cards when you need them. Spell Hunter doesn't use the filter but it has Rhok'delar as a refill for the late game. Topdecking a bunch of secrets in the late game is also pretty bad so i don't see good prospects there though i might be wrong.

I suggested Grommash mainly because he fits the theme of the deck (rush). But The Lich King is a better card for sure. I'm going to give the deck a try latter. I'm mostly looking to have fun these days and this seems a lot of fun!

Why run two copies of Deadly Arsenal when the only relevant weapon for it is Sul'thraze? Because paying 6 mana and getting just 2 damage with Blood Razor seems really bad. Not to mention the possibility of drawing all weapons before the spells which will cause them to become dead cards. Isn't it better to run Geosculptor Yip or Grommash Hellscream? Or maybe another Bring It On!?

Use Helpless Hatchling to discount this to 3 mana then play Blackhowl Gunspire + Loose Specimen for 10 mana and 18 damage randomly split amongst all enemies (as long as your board is empty). Hard to pull off but it's a guaranteed way of getting value out of Blackhowl Gunspire.
I have pulled this combo off a few times but only once it actually won the game for me. It is far from reliable when it comes to face damage as you can't count with your opponent's board being empty but just clearing a few minions and getting some face damage when they are fatiguing can be enough to seal off the game. You can also use Alexstrasza to reduce their health (or increase yours). However, this is too slow and unreliable with the amount of otk decks on the ladder. So i wouldn't count this as way of making Gunspire viable yet.

I have been playing around with another combo that can be used to take advantage of Blackhowl Gunspire's ability. I use Helpless Hatchling to discount Loose Specimen to 3 mana, then play Alexstrasza and and then play the Spire with the Specimen. This guarantees only the spire will be hit and triggers it 6 times. So i'm leaving this here as a suggestion. Could you try to make this combination and see how it plays? It is much more difficult because the Hatchlings only discounts things when they die and only one at a time. So the only way to get more discounts is playing them, using Zola on them and bouncing her back to hand. I don't have Zola so i can't try this myself.

Now that the infinite combo doesn't exist anymore (in standard at least) this card should be more fair. But i haven't seen anyone trying anything new with it despite its potential. It seems people only like unfair instant win things in this game and anything that's changed to be fair isn't worth playing. Really sad.

I still remember the day i was experimenting with a token shaman with The Storm Bringer. I was playing against a warlock. Near the late game he wiped my board two turns consecutively with Twisting Nether but after this i still managed to get three tokens on the board to use the legendary spell on them. One of the minions became Duskfallen Aviana. If my opponent kept one of his big removals he would have been able to destroy the strongest play of my deck and win the game. I won that game. Obviously it's impossible to predict such things will happen but it still bothers me that this trash card can easily ruin a game if it comes out of a random effect. This card is irredeemable garbage. And it was my free witchwood legendary. I still have it because i don't want to risk getting it from a pack.

I don't understand why they created the freeze synergy for Shaman in Frozen Throne but never added any new cards to support it in later expansions. Did they really think that what is already available is enough? Or did they just give up on it entirely? Wtf are they thinking?! Such a waste...

I find it funny that people play this guy in such automatic mode that they end up forgetting that his battlecry doesn't affect mechs. One guy learned that the hard way against me yesterday when he tried to use this card to clear my Mulchmuncher. He was apparently a little surprised as he took some time hovering over both minions to understand what went wrong.

Thx for your feedback! I agree...somehow ;)
6 Mana for a potentially 2 dmg boardclear seems overpriced, but you need the boardclears and you need the Blood Razor especially for giving you a swing when mid-game beginns and to combo with Cornered Sentry.
I opened a second Sul'thraze yesterday in a pack, so I added it to increase your chances of making Deadly Arsenal more powerful.
Both legendaries you mentioned are very good choices! I don't have them unfortunately ;) I would swap Geosculptor Yip for one Gilnean Royal Guard. If Grommash Hellscream is really better than The Lich King? I am not sure. Probably a question of personal taste.
Thx for your feedback!

I like those creative decks. From a first glance i think you need only three cards and not the dragon pack. The key card is the loose Specimen so i would run a more classic odd warrior with gunspire + 2 Loose Specimen. The good thing is that you can play them as a strong 5 mana body too which fits the deck and in case of Oonstada it would be droped for free if you like. Of couse i would run double recless flurry.

Don't dust any legendaries if you don't have a plan on how to spend that dust.
Varian Wrynn:1/10 If I would play Big Warrior, I would run Gather you Party, Woecleaver and The Boomship and minions without battlecry, like Geosculptor Yip, Grommash Hellscream or Y'Shraaj, Rage Unbound. I think this card hasn't aged well.
Wrathion: 1/10 The number of cards drawn is on average too low for such a poor stat per mana ratio. I don't remember he saw ever any competitive play.
Blingtron 3000: 2/10 Guess this one is just for the Memes.

Mill the opponent, yes and also , it helps you draw cards faster since we no longer run x2 Nourish. You always must think that you are helping yourself with Forest , rather then the opponent, since late game , is yours :)
But .. feel free to remove it and add another Wrath , for exemple.

HS is a game that will always attract personality streamers because you can mess about while still maintaining a certain level in the game with it being turn based and all and not too difficult.
I don't think you'll ever have to worry about not having streamers to watch.
I also don't think this means that HS is dying because some of these personality streamers may stop playing. you have to remember they are people too and may get sick of something... it doesn't mean they'll be gone forever though.
I know I take breaks from HS all the time, I only play for about 6 or 7 months a year due to me getting bored or something else catching my attention.
I always come back though... and this cannot be said for any other game really. usually once I get bored, that's it, I never pick it up again. HS is in niche place where it's the only digital card game that is as accessible and has the blizzard polish.
the die hard's will never leave, and I think those of us that are gaming vagabonds will keep returning as there simply is nothing else quite like a game of HS.
Jan 3, 2019IvyBlade posted a message on Wild Growth and Fiery War Axe nerfs - when cards are class featuresPosted in: General Discussion
You sure must have it hard for getting 1-2 cards nerfed that constantly saw play in EVERY SINGLE deck or ARCHETYPE of the mentioned classes. When they'll give me back my Ice Lance and Ice Block OR find a better replacement in classic than the RNG spell generator no one is using - we can talk then.
I don't really sympathise that much with the other HoFed classes (Conceal for Rogue and Power Overwhelming for Warlock) but they sure as hell also felt it - especially all zoo/aggro warlocks with the loss of PO.
Did the Fiery War Axe and Wild Growth + Nourish nerfs were clean? Certainly not.
Were they not overkills of the cards? Certainly not and with both of those I sympathise.
If the cards are both UNIVERSALLY STRONG IN EVERY SITUATION, go into EVERY DECK and SEVERLY cripple other archetypes/classes or their means to response then the cards either need to get changed (the latest nerfs) or HOFed (Ice block, PO).
Pity that Blizzard as always made sure to nerf/destroy a full class (Druid) + most of the tier 2/counters offending decks and leave one full class of 4 archetypes without any meanigful nerfs/adjustments (Hunter)
I'm tired of Blizzards policy to have a cycle of "this is a X class expansion". This game will never be fun or "fair" for others if Blizzards answer to balance and having 9 classes is basically make 2-3 unusuable/garbage (example Druid, Shaman) 2-3 mediocre to niche/counter classes (example Mage, Warrior) and 2-3 OP/tier one warping the meta around them (example Hunter).
Why can they never think over the expansions and act ACCORDINGLY? I get it. It's hard and unpredictable. But that's what 2-3 nerf cycles should be for - to tone down the main offenders (all at once while having thought it over) and correct a second time making sure it is at least "somehow" balanced. The third cycle should be trying to bump counters and or decks that are "so so"/almost there.

Totally get what you’re saying if it’s in respect to Kingsbane Rogue. The problem with that argument is that anyone who played Kingsbane Rogue was morally bankrupt and is getting what they deserve!
