Look at it like this  by removing the obsolete sets new players wont have the confusion of buying into sets that are no longer going to be used in competitive play and instead can focus on the current stuff. Blizzard has already said that standard mode will be the one used for the championship so this news alone will gravitate a lot of players to use standard mode over wild mode. A new player coming into the game isn't going to care about stuff they missed almost 2 years ago they are going to want to focus on the new cards and for new players standard mode is much better for them than wild.

 There are still older cards that are super viable in the current meta.  I guess to me that's a good thing.  I liked the idea that as decks expand, diversity will continue.  My concern is, with having to buy completely new cards, just to remain in standard, the amount of cards will be low, thus making only 3-4 decks that people actually play.  Which to me doesn't seem as fun.

But I digress.  Even letting go of the idea of a huge amount of cards to select from, I just don't like the idea that they're taking them away, completely, from the store.  It makes the future of WILD seem trepidatious, at best, and we've yet to even begin.

Both summoning stone and flamewakers need spells for their effects to work so this type of a deck is going to have to carry a lot of spells. Forgotten torch could be a good spell gives you another card outside of your deck to use. The other suggestions mentioned here are all solid. I like the concept I'll build it tonight and be able to give you more accurate feedback. 

Very impressive resume . It is not easy to show such flexibility with all classes. My problem is I love using 2-3 classes and just keep going back to those classes. I currently only have gold priest and paladin . The golden paladin was achieved in season 2 before it became one of the strongest classes in the game. I wish the golden portrait would say which season gold was achieved.

^this who cares about life coach we can all formulate our own opinions. We will see a lot more diversity with this expansion which is what the game needs

The problem with using one of the Bane sister's is then they take away the buff cards that would be used on the dragonkin sorcerer. I would also pull out the technicians and put in the 2 dragon's that give taunt while holding a dragon. This will increase the chances of buffing the welps and there is less conditional things in the deck 

I think they want to introduce another viable archetype to the class 

I have been playing hearthstone since the start and had a lot of fun. But this really is by far the worst meta I have ever seen.

Yeah and I have played at every single release they ever made and meta have never been close to this toxic in any release ever before.

There is just no interaction what so ever.
I have no clue why they have pushed this combo meta but it is utter rubbish.
First time I am ever considering quitting hearthstone.

I don't think its the WORST meta ever, but quite possibly one of the most boring of all time. Paladin is on a tier of its own shutting out alot of the other decks. Any control decks that want to experiment likely cant because of the presence of Jaraxxus and Tickatus. And I don't think any player enjoys losing to random discounted spells generated by Deck of Lunacy.

The meta seems largely "solved" and this makes for stale gameplay.
