posted a message on Really enjoyed week 2 of the frozen throne adventure

Sindragosa took me three tries, the rest I managed to beat first attempt, so I was a little disappointed by the challenge. Still, I may have gotten pretty lucky against putricide, I played that new secret that allowed me to get two copies of a minion in my hand, and it turned out to be the minion that dealt 3 damage to the opponents minions at the end of your turn, so putricide could never establish a board. My first try against Sindragosa I lost because she got a truesilver champion with draconic operative, and pushed herself below 20 health with it, freezing two of my minions. My second time against Sindragosa I tried mage, but that card that deals damage for spells in your hand was too brutal to play mage, I died super quick. The next game I decided to go back to paladin and just didn't attack Sindragosa until fatigue, and won easily.

The levels were pretty creative, though, and I kinda wish there were a heroic mode for them.

Yes, it was fun, but I have a question, some of you tried to defeat sindragosa with freeze mage? I tried 6 times and every time sindragosa killed me on turn three like if it was programmed to avoid freeze mage

Yeah, Sindragosa has a card that costs 1 mana that deals 3 damage for every spell you have in your hand, which basically destroys spell based decks. I was killed by that too when I tried out mage. It's not a hard programming thing, just a deck that kills you for having spells in your deck.

posted a message on Skulking Geist Is Not Good Enough

I've been playing a lot of control paladin, and I probably win half of my games against jade druid because of skulking geist. This is not a card that will automatically win you the game against jade druid, its only a card that prevents them from going infinite. You play one copy in your deck if you think that you can beat a jade druid by forcing them in to fatigue.

As I've played with it, I've felt like this card was actually pretty well designed. The reason jade druid is really strong right now is because of ramp in to ultimate infestation, which means that an early nourish in to 2 mana crystals is actually a reasonable play sometimes now, especially if you have an ultimate infestation in hand. If a jade deck has a good draw, it can get out huge threats on the board before you have enough mana to counter it.

Sometimes I also wait until druid plays a second jade idol to summon three more idols in their deck before playing this card, just to try and force druid to waste a card draw (and because its not a particularly great play on curve anyway). One of the best games I've played against jade druid is when I had it in my hand turn 6, but played bone drake instead that turn, then kept the geist in my hand the entire game until my opponent had four cards in deck, and fandril out, with about 45 health. I played it and just kept my wall of taunts alive (I play a lot of taunts in this deck), and set up uther's new hero power, and the jade druid suddenly had no way to break through the walls, and conceded.

Card seems to be working as intended, its just that druid gained some amazing cards this expansion that makes them really strong even without the idol.

posted a message on Unpopular Death Knight Opinions

I got a copy of Uther as my legendary from my first 10 packs, and I think he's really good. I don't think exodia paladin is consistent enough to work, but that seems to be the fun option on top of an already very powerful ability. A 5/3 lifesteal weapon is incredible for a control deck, and getting 2/2 minions with your hero power is nice even without the exodia.

Uther won't win you the game himself, but he's an incredible addition to an already very strong deck. He's also good for f2p players like me, because while the paladin legendaries I don't have are amazing and probably would make my deck better, stonehill defender still often lets me get tyrion or sunkeeper tarim, and grimstreet protector strangely enough is actually doing wonders for me as a substitute for the control cards I don't have. Basically, Uther is strong, not because he opens up a new architype, but because he takes a formerly t1 deck, and improves it.

EDIT: On reflection, the exodia ability is still a threat even if that's not your gameplan. Control paladin has a lot of taunt minions, which can actually be pretty difficult to deal with. Just beat a quest priest with the exodia combo while playing normally, and it gives your opponent something to think about. It's still not the most powerful side effect, but its solid.

EDIT 2: Did it again against a control paladin who had a spikeridged steeded silver hand recruit blocking his face, and had just used lay on hands to draw him 3 more cards and get his health up. With minions like argent protector, grimstreet protector, and the guy who makes opponents attacks become 1, and spells like spikeridged steed, paladin actually has a fair ability to keep a board alive and make your 2/2's really annoying for your opponent to deal with, and pretty hard to kill.

Dude. Wild Pyromancer and Plague Scientist. Board clear

That was my first thought too, but after thinking about it, there is some merit to running both. Wild pyromancer kills itself in the board clear, while Baron Geddon sticks around to the opponents turn, and then your opponent has to deal with a 7/5 baron geddon with no board for the rest of the game until it is removed. If your opponent doesn't have hard removal or a weapon, it can stick up forever.

posted a message on Whats your controversial KFT card opinion?

Ticking abomination might be a viable card in an amara priest deck without n'zoth (aka, the one I run, because I'm poor), because it provides so much value while played early, and allows you to retake the board, which priest struggles with early on, particularly amara priest. It also curves well from devilsaur egg on turn 3, and most of the cheap deathrattles that this deck wants to run have stronger deathrattles than bodies anyway. It would be bad late game, but the early game boost could be enough to push it over the edge and make it competitive.

I will definitely make a deck with all of them for warlock. You don't lose that many resources.

If you're going to discard half your cards already, your deck is basically unaffected, right?

Aside from jades, this could also destroy a turn 6 evolve/doppleganger combo on shaman. It also can destroy some whirlwind combos with warrior. I think every control deck will run one of these, until jades are pushed from the meta, in which case it will be taken away.

Its not complete deadweight outside of jade, and basically kills jade. This might be too hard a counter from a game design perspective, but at the same time, it should make the meta more interesting (since Jade was looking really strong before this with all the new druid cards), so I'm all for it.

    Medivh Rogue incoming!

lol, that would actually be kinda hilarious. Play medivh, then next turn play auctioneer/counterfeit coin/this card, then flood the board with wisps and snowflipper penguins while you're drawing.
I don't know if that would actually be good, but it would be funny.

I dunno if this is as good as everyone is making it out to be. It's a good card to get from free from amber and improves that card, sure, but a lot of the time I'd rather have a 12/12 minion or Ysera. It won't save you against aggro or help you complete the quest, because against aggro, if you haven't completed the quest by turn 9, you're dead. It's a good target to get from barnes, especially with eternal servitude, but that's unreliable. It won't give the needed oomph to push past control paladin in control matchups. It could be decent against mage, but I feel like priest needs more cards on turns 4-7, and by turn 9 you've either stabilized or you're dead. The deathrattle is also a random effect, which means it can easily kill a 1/1 minion if your opponent is playing around it.

My experience is with quest priest though, not control priest, so it could be what more viable decks need. This does sound like a very good N'zoth target, but even that's not guaranteed in quest priest, because you're running so many deathrattles already it may not show up at all.

can u live to turn 10 to play 12-12 ? or ysera can counter aggro ? Ysera is one of the best controlish card in HS history, she dont have anything to do with countering aggro decks.
Hmm, now that you mention it, this card actually is an insane boost to free from amber against aggro. I'm currently trying to perfect a f2p medivh centered amara priest deck (its not super good, but its really fun), and there are a fair number of times when I reach turn 8 with the quest at 5/7 and an empty board and 6 or so health, this would be the best possible summon under those conditions, probably better than sliggoth.
Turn 9 would be too late to play this in the deck I'm using most of the time, but turn 8 with free from amber might be fast enough to help against aggro. You have a point.

Huh, Azk, you may have a point. This card is a good anti-fatigue mechanic, and might be playable with a ton of removal and card draw, emphasis on might. Still, it would be tough, priest has basically no good removal against 4 health minions, if you don't draw it early, some late game minions and combos will just kill you before you do anything. I'm not sure priest really has an answer to ysera, for instance.

Still, theoretically, your deck + your opponents deck should beat your opponents deck if the game goes infinite. However, getting the game to go infinite is an issue, and if you rely too much on drawing this guy, then you basically have nothing if he's in the final third of your deck.

Still a nice plan though, I hope someone a bit richer than me can test this strategy out.

I'm not sure this is an insta-win in most solo adventures, it doesn't counter the enemy hero power, and you still have to survive to turn 7 to play it. I don't think it breaks most solo adventures at all, though it definitely could be used in some of them.

Ok, I'm 95% sure this is awful, but... its so fun! I'm trying to think of good uses for it. I don't think its good against jade druid, because while you can go idol for idol with them and avoid fatigue, jade druid will get a head start on you and be summoning better minions than you. The only good thing about it is that it gives you access to cards you wouldn't normally have access to, but I don't know if that helps?

I can't see what they're expecting us to do with it. It just... looks awful. However, I want someone to use this card successfully, its just too cool to be bad!

posted a message on New Hunter Card Revealed! - Stitched Tracker

Kabal courier is pretty good. If control hunter is a thing, this card might be better than it. It's basically a guaranteed good draw and doesn't even draw the card from your deck, so you can theoretically draw it a second time. Good for legendary minions, now hunter just needs a good legendary minion you actually want two of in a deck.

Its probably too slow for aggro, but in a slower deck it could definitely see play.

posted a message on New Warlock Card Revealed - Gnomeferatu

I'm amazed to see all of these reactions. The only time this influences the game in any way right now, aside from letting people know what they need to either wait for or play around, is if you enter fatigue or have drawn all of your cards. Since your deck is in random order, pretend that this card is, 'reveal the bottom card of your opponents deck and destroy it'. This is literally the same effect as that card would be.

However... I have a feeling this won't be the case by the end of the expansion. If you hate this card right now, you're going to really hate where I think they might be going with this in warlock. I think Warlock is going to get some beneath the grounds style mechanic to work with this card, and is going to be able to fill up your deck with terrible cards, and I have a feeling that the new warlock hero power is going to support that. Maybe they'll give you ancient curses or something like that, it would kinda fit the theme from the comic of Guldan corrupting Rexxar and Malfurion.
