1 mana draw a card? That's always good. Probably a little worse than Kobold Librarian because it can come up blank and is a terrible top deck late game, but that scenario probably won't come up enough to matter.

Probably an autoinclude in most warrior decks that want to use at least 2 or 3 rush cards in them. It isn't good enough to make the deck good, but it is good enough to be included in the deck.

Hmm, this could be decent in an Aluneth deck, giving you a way to draw minions immediately with no extra up front mana cost. Comboing two legendary cards is a bit inconsistent though.

This is pretty different from Barnes. The power of Barnes was the ability to stack your deck so that you only have a few minions you can possibly draw with it, guaranteeing a very powerful effect with 4 mana. Since you can draw spells with this card, you need to either get lucky with this card (making it not consistent), or stack your deck with minions you don't mind getting 1/1 copies of (limiting your ability to draw super well with it).

The best application may not be in getting powerful effects, but in filling your board with 1/1s. The unimpresive stat line and the lack of draw from the card itself makes it hard to use effectively though, I'm not really sure if its going to work.

Not as bad as it initially looks, because you control when the deathrattle goes off. It just needs a good 3 cost rush minion to work.

Huhhh, very interesting. The card doesn't look super strong at first glance, but warrior has a ton of cards that can deal single points of damage, making this a threat if the opponent doesn't kill it quickly.

Best case scenario its a 7 mana 3/8: deal 24, which is insane. More likely, its a 7 mana 3/8: deal 9, which... honestly isn't that bad. It would be better if it prioritized targeting random enemy minions though, 9 damage to face really isn't that good for the kind of deck it will want to be in.

Seems pretty decent to me, because rogue's combo cards are very good, and often cards you want to draw at this stage of the game. Cards that give control over what cards you draw are often better than they appear at first glance, this could be very similar to the curator in to primordial drake turns 7/8 that quest warrior used to do.

At first glance, this looks like one of the most broken cards ever released.

I... Really don't know what else to say about it. I hope you playtested this blizzard.

Not as bad as its stats make it look, because there are a lot of decks that want to survive and heal a bit on turn 5. However, its not that good either, its still a 5 mana 4/5, which is very bad.

I'll say playable in a bad deck that doesn't have better healing or taunt options, which means I'll probably end up putting this in all the decks I try to make work.

posted a message on New Hunter Legendary - Houndmaster Shaw

I've been experimenting with various control hunter builds, and this really fits right in to that. Even if control hunter is still not viable, it's also not that bad in aggro or midrange.

Honestly think this is great, because every time I've tried to play control hunter, I've realized, "wait, if I lose the board, I have absolutely no way to take it back, because my best AOE is a 6 mana consecrate." This provides a version of aggressive AOE and efficient trading. Its limitation is that its a legendary, meaning you can only have one of this card in your deck, which will make it harder for this card to shore up a lot of hunter's weaknesses at the moment.

If I get this in a pack, I definitely will play around with this card. The fact that any crab counters it though... actually does hurt it, because if this card actually gets good, it will be able to be countered immediately.

How does this card work with the curator though? I know this will be wild only, but does the curator read one at a time, mainly, it will search for a beast, then a dragon, then a murloc? In that case, it could theoretically draw this and another beast, or it could draw this and not draw the other beast? Or would it search for the single tags first, then draw the remainder, therefore ensuring it would draw this and your other beast in your deck?

posted a message on Did Blizzard already gave up Odd/Even decks?

Every card in the game has an even or odd cost, and the legendaries that would power this deck activate at the beginning of the game, which is pretty powerful. I don't remember anything having a consistent power like this before in hearthstone, a card that does what you want before you draw it, so I think it could be very good. The legendary effects also synnergize with your leftover mana, so if you play a 2 cost card on 3, you can use your hero power with the remaining mana.

I'm actually pretty happy blizzard didn't go overboard printing support cards for these specific decks. It creates a more challenging deckbuilding process where there aren't many cards that Blizzard can point to and go, "Those. Put those in this deck and it will work."

Personally, I think this mechanic could be pretty powerful in some classes. Restrictions on what cards to put in your deck always seems like a huge deal... until someone invariably figures out how to make a really good deck with the restriction, then you wonder why you didn't think of that.

    posted a message on Even/Odd

I'm not sure The Darkness is ever going to be all that good. You need to draw and play it to screw up the decks of the opponent, and against aggro its 4 mana do nothing. It didn't really work as a counter to Raza Priest, because drawing and playing your Darkness before they played Raza wasn't even a particularly consistent strategy, and it was bad in most other matchups. Its going to have the same downfalls against the even/odd decks.

I'm saying this a bit regretfully because I love the concept of crazy experiments, but this one I don't think will work.

Its really just way too early to tell, and depends almost exclusively on what support the card receives.
As of now its probably a great card in a bad deck.

I like that these cards are start of game effects instead of a battlecry. Makes balancing it easier, this isn't going to be like Kelleseth where the game's won or lost depending on whether you draw him with a shadowstep/coin on turn 1.
