rykon1459918 posted a message on Violet TeacherPosted in: Violet TeacherWild Pyromancer reads "after"
This reads "Whenever"
Meaning that spells that buff all minion EG: Power of the Wild the minion will be summoned first then buffed then knocked down to a 2/1 by the Wild Pyromancer
Hope that clears it up.

Sentinel71 posted a message on 79%win rate Curse of RafaamPosted in: 79%win rate Curse of RafaamThis deck is a nice idea, but does not work in the current meta (on EU). It is correct that the games are over at turn 6, but mostly for us and not for the opponent. Curse of Rafaam may seem like a nice idea, but most of the time it gets ignored and does not stall the opponent, because they are faster with their damage. Most decks nowadays have teched against Secret Pala, they have board clears and they are trying to be faster than you. IMHO the deck lacks AoE and faster e.g. more damage per turn.

Underrated1 posted a message on Tinkmaster OversparkPosted in: Tinkmaster OversparkThere are exactly two ways to play this card and be remotely happy with it.
- "Okay, the enemy has a Sludge Belcher and I have two Silver Hand Recruits. Sludge into dinosaur happens 1/6 of the time and is a neutral outcome. Sludge into squirrel happens 1/6 of the time and is a good outcome. Hero power token into dinosaur happens 1/3 of the time and is a good outcome. Hero power token into squirrel happens 1/3 of the time and is a neutral outcome. This will be neutral half of the time and be good half of the time. I'll play Tinkmaster."

Posted in: Ice BlockRagnaros can punch around this card as long as it is not triggered before he does his damage. Because it is a secret it can only trigger on the opponent's turn and because Rag attacks after the turn is over, he won't trigger the block.
I was recently playing a mage and had whittled them down to 7 health and no minions on board. I knew she had an IB up (by process of elmination it had to be Ice block - checked for spellbender/spellbock as well), and I had two cards in my hand: Rag and Gorehowl. My first impulse was to throw Gorehowl down and get the blocked "Lethal," just in case she had a polymorph + taunt - I could still play Rag the next turn for a 50-50. Then I remembered the secret's mechanic, that it only triggers on an opponent's turn, and that Ragnaros the Firelord only attacks after you hit the end turn button...so I played him and crossed my fingers... I had a pride-boner for days.
I was so proud in fact that I soon thereafter boasted furiously in an overlong message board post that no one will likely ever read...
What I will say is this: Ragnaros is, without a doubt, the best 1600 dust I have ever spent...period period period...
<EDIT>
YA so...apparently it was a bug. And now its been fixed.
It is a shame - I really liked the idea of Rag hitting around iceblock - it seemed like a clever concept to mitigate an aggravating card, but my thought process on how secrets work was a bit flawed. The thread Here (http://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-general/card-discussion/34963-ice-block-and-ragnaros-bug-solved) explains it.
The crux seems to be that your turn does not really end when you hit "End Turn" ...I know right... but the end of turn minions like Rag or Kel Thuzhad have to take their actions before your turn ACTUALLY ends. They don't work in the wonderful little inbetweeny turn I thought they did - but just as one final extension of yours, which means they can still trigger secrets. All of the minion death secrets (avenge, dup, redemption) will trigger, as will iceblock and presumably Eye for and Eye. All the attack secrets are still off the table b/c rag does not attack - he just deals damage.
Sorry for adding to the confusion folks :(

Costs 2 less draws. Not to say that this card is good as is, but the comparison is very unfair.

Turns out if you have Wild Pyromancer and this card, casting a spell causes this card to trigger first, creating the apprentice and then getting destroyed immediately.

Also combos well with Snake Trap
