LeAdderNoir posted a message on Game etiquettePosted in: General DiscussionQuote from robert_fanr >>Some people use emotes smart .
Like for example after a devastating RNG swing I try to emote the opponent out of game with well played and greeters to make him concede . Or I quickly say oops after every misplay.
It doesn't work many times though . Most of the time I end up emoting to express my disgust in opponent's good RNG .
I don't think you should describe that as 'smart'. What you're doing there is trying to ruin someone else's in-game experience in order to get a free win. The word for that is 'cynical', rather than smart. -

Aether_lackey posted a message on Game etiquettePosted in: General DiscussionFull disclosure: I'm a salty player. I don't like losing one bit, I'm pretty sure I reached my potential in relation to the amount of effort I'm willing to put in learning hearthstone, so there is no "ok, what did I learn from this loss" going on anymore, instead there's a lot of "that ******* RNG roll decided the entire game". Not saying it is a impartial or correct analysis, but again, don't care if it isn't, I just want to get my quests done and hopefully have a bit of fun.
Digital games have serious restrictions when it comes to communication between players. Whilst during a IRL MTG game you can observe your opponents reactions and body language if not straight up talking to him, in hearthstone all you have is half a dozen of lines that should hold the same meaning regardless of what character you're playing, but often don't. Classic example would be the distinction between a sober "that was a mistake" and the infamous "Oops", but I digress. What I'm trying to get at is that you can't really tell if your opponent is taking the game lightly or if he's really frustrated about how things are turning out when playing a game of Hearthstone.
My MTG background taught me that when your opponent gets frustrated over a game it is common courtesy to not offer a handshake at the end of the match, because it would be forcing them to a position that requires them to either ignore you and look like a bigger a**hole or do it in a forced manner despite their frustration, regardless of if it has roots in RNG or difference of skill.
Instead, you should wait to see if your opponent has the sportsmanship of doing it spontaneously himself.
Assumed F.A.Q.
"Aren't you being too sensitive?" - Possibly, probably. But let me put it like this. You win a game against a guy, he doesn't seem happy about it, do you proceed to try starting a conversation with him as if nothing had happened or do you act sober and refrain from doing anything that could make it look like you're mocking him? I mean, if you're like the king of charism maybe, but in a digital game all your social skills aren't worth squat anyway.
"What goes trough your mind when a player "well plays" you?" - "I don't give a **** about what you think of how well I played" / "Prick" / "Well RNG'd, ***hole"
"What if he emoted first?" - Go ahead and do whatever you want to then. Personally if someone emotes too much I just start roping them.
"Can't you just squelch at the start of every match?" - Sometimes I forget.
TL;DR: Don't emote "well played" (or anything else really) when you're about to win the game unless the other player did it first. That is if you're at all concerned about trying to be generally nice to someone who didn't do anything to you.
PS: WHAT DO WE WANT? AUTO-SQUELCH! WHEN DO WE WANT IT? ON THE NEXT PATCH ALREADY!
PPS: Yes, I'm trying to be humorous about it, sorry if your taste in humour is too refined for little old me. #satlypride #krippsquad -

CrovaxTheCursed posted a message on Interaction Between Thrall, Deathseer and Unlicensed Apothecary Fixed in Next PatchPosted in: NewsI personally haven't seen this happen, but I'm glad they are fixing this (even as much as I dislike playing against Shaman). The interaction is straight up incorrect since you are not summoning minions, so this should have never been a thing. How bout that Blizzard playtesting, eh?

InfiniteJexulus posted a message on Interaction Between Thrall, Deathseer and Unlicensed Apothecary Fixed in Next PatchPosted in: NewsAs welcome as this fix is, I'd honestly prefer Unlicensed Apothecary's trigger to be outright changed from "summon" to "play", for the reason that this card singlehandedly ruins any card that summons or randomly generates demons past and future. Bane of Doom, Kabal Trafficker, Krul the Unshackled are completely unplayable competitively in both Standard and Wild because generating this minion is such an absurd fail case way below the curve in that you literally, actually die. It's one of the worst feelings in the game to summon this minion by any means, and for the sake of not invalidating future cards at least for the Wild format, Unlicensed Apothecary receiving a trigger change would be something everyone would be happy with.
I hate this card.

Cabal is a great tempo play. mind blast is a great win condition with velen. its just a matter of how you are playing the deck. if you are going to play a slower paced game with less card draw play cabal. if you are going to play a draw heavy machine gun face highlander play mind blast

i'm really bummed about this ... I am going to miss the laughs of playing an evolve shaman getting wrecked and they evolve and auto loose. the meme is too good and shouldn't be fixed. the one mess blizz does that i can get behind. hahahaha

as a rogue player i am happy you are gone.

I"m with Sinti on this one. you should be playing 2 dead man's hand. especially considering there isn't anything in this deck that is overly OP it is simply a time game. sitting with 2 dead mans, bring it on, and oracle at the end of the game is such a great feeling

there should be a secret emote that appears when you play pirates that simply says " FUCK OFF"

I get people are hating on highlander ... and when you play against a highlander and they raza on five and anduin on 8 it sucks. but I have played against many priest decks and they have a huge disadvantage in playing one of's and find unless you are playing someone that knows what they are doing you can steam roll this deck.

it's a super fun deck. I feel like we have had a jaina control mage since the expansion and its always just kind of fell short. Unless you are getting jaina on 9 and decent about of health regen you are typically toasted by the aggro decks. and highlander priest just wins the value game 9/10 times

do you really think saronite chain gang is a really strong card? it only counts as one minion for the quest and its typically steam rolled. unless you play this card on turn four I find i was wishing i had better taunt minions.

Looks fun, I'll play around with this deck on ladder !!
Cheers mate
