no not biased at all, all i saw was that you're obviously a pretty good player judging from ur deck list and that you should've just been the bigger person lol, i know how you mean about toxic people but i dont think he was being toxic, and this is the page to his deck; you could straight up say you dont like it and it sucks and you're 100% entitled to your opinion, but i think you just made misguided efforts to undermine his credibility is all, and really, who cares? let the masses try it out and if they like it they do, if they dont they dont

someone told me once a curious statistic in psychology, and it's that if you keep on calling someone something, chances are you are in denial about being that yourself *cough* petty *cough*.

also that screenshot snippet with stats matches the one he posted in the deck write up, i would recommend looking before you pick a fight next time so you don't end up looking like a retard. his current list IS listed 100% in the hsreplays, else the "global stats" wouldnt show above his deck in the tracker screenshot he has in the write up. on top of that he hasnt said anything bad about your tech selection, he gave a bit of banter with "eu rank 15 > na legend", and that's all it is, banter.

being a douche is when you comment under someone's deck and say "deck is fine, guide is garbage, here everyone listen to me because i have an inferiority complex, also, if you disagree, it's just because you play on EU and you'll downvote me cuz thats what they do, and not because my opinion's worthless, also, i'm higher legend hue hue hue"

So I've been looking over this forum and the amount of discrepancies on how to play Highlander priest is just insane. Everybody has their own idea, and honestly that's what the game is about, but after 311 games and 11 revisions with my own version of the Highlander, I hope you listen to my own 2 cents and think about what I got to say here lol.

A quick note: I've been playing priest since Goblins vs Gnomes came out, after I was rank 25 and someone shadow word pain'ed my frothing berserker, which was my first rare. I thought that was OP as **** and decided I'll do priest. 1559 wins later I finally hit legend lol

Ok so let's get started.

• I see most people wonder about is the inclusion of Prophet Velen. How is this even up for discussion? YES. If you don't have prophet velen, who buffs your hero power, what is the point of playing a deck that is centered around using your hero power to finish off the opponent, be it to clear the board or go for lethal, or to complete your OTK? Auto include.
• This begs the inclusion of Mind Blast. If you don't have it, auto concede all mirror match ups, cuz you either rush your opponent down with your borderline combo deck that's missing pieces, or wait long enough for your opponent to draw into up to 40dmg in a turn, and all the armor in the world isn't going to save you at that point.
• At this point to any logical person it's becoming obvious this is a combo deck. Not midrange, not aggro, not really control because you're going to cough out the FINITE amount of damage you can deal. Combo-deck. Let's say this again, RAZAKUS is a COMBO deck. What's the most important thing in a combo deck? I'm no expert but probably card draw. And some people leave this up to chance and tech in oozes and geists and make excuses that "it helps in this meta cuz weapons and jade and stuff". You know what else helps in this, and frankly, any meta? Drawing your win condition. Bloodmage Thalnos, Novice Engineer, Gnomish Inventor, Shadow Visions, Power Word: Shield and Acolyte of Pain are the bare minimum. BARE MINIMUM.
• "I don't have kazakus is there a replacement?" NO. There is not. Not in standard at least, and in wild the replacment is either Lightbomb or Reno Jackson. Kazakus is there to make your RNG based deck even more RNG based, and win you games by creating unfair advantages. It's a must have because it improves the consistency of the deck. It's like

• Elise the Trailblazer. THIS IS ALL IN CAPS BECAUSE HOLY CRAP I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. DON'T EVER PLAY ELISE!! "Oh but it won me this game and that game and I like her and she cost me 1600 dust so I have to play her, also, value" NO. STOP. I don't care which pro players you saw include her in the deck, they might not have ever played priest before and if they include elise "cuz value, especially with shadow visions", you and them are really missing the point of this deck. Cuz it's combo, not control. You HAVE to finish the game by the time you draw for the 26th time, cuz if the game got to that point you're playing vs someone who created their deck to beat u in the long run anyways, and 5, hell, 10 more random cards are not going to do you any good vs mill warrior or jade druid that now spawns 10/10s. "oh but that's why i tech'd geist in".. well then play secret mage if you wanna play geist cuz you must've cut card draw for it, and if you're cutting card draw from a highlander deck... most of my wins vs priest came off guys who ran elise, and all my losses were vs big priest or a highlander that got the combo faster than i did.
• with all this said, there isn't all that many flexible spots in this deck list. honeslty you know what the most flexible card in this deck might be? The Northshire Cleric, but then again no, because it draws removal, stops early plays, and draws you cards. 2nd most flexible is Curious Glimmerroot, because you could actually swap it out for more of your own card draw.

These are just some things i noticed that are simply misplays that happen before the game even begins, and I've seen priest, my all time fave, go through some serious slumps, so it'd be nice to cement him as an all time great for at least a couple seasons, like when dragon priest was annihilating the ladder.

This is obviously all just my opinion, and I'm really interested in what you guys might have to say, cuz maybe it'll open my eyes to something im missing from the picture and ultimately lead to an even better deck list for everyone

no, opposite, most lists include elise and the top list on hearthpwn even goes as far as to include cairne bloodhoof, lich king, and n'zoth, while ommiting velen, which is actually ridiculous. so no, not everyone knows the list, and this has nothing to do with net decking, it's about tech card selection; did you bother to read the post or do you just like the sound of your own voice lol?

I'm really happy this has been able to help so many people, my main intention while putting this together is to show that you don't need to play a 28k dust deck, like the ones futured on the main page of hearthpwn, to win. I think the real challenge of this game is how well can you do with what you've got, instead of how well can you do with unlimited resources.

without getting side tracked further, there's a really good budget hunter deck, but it does take the perfect draw; it's on the front page under "hunter", it utilizes scavanging hyenas. takes a while because you've got to hope that he doesnt remove them, or that this doesnt happen, but it worked. otherwise i used murloc pally, and that took ages as well,and i've been thinking about how to do mage but it seems down right impossible without at least 3-4k dust so you can do an OTK.

thanks; yeah, Fandral would help, but I personally really dislike druid in the game and never crafted a single legendary for him. been playing priest since GvG lol. and even if i did, he wouldnt help that much because you still have to play him, and that means 4 less mana for your auctioneer to use up.

this deck though won after 2-3 tries i think; if you can make it to turn 7 and he can't kill your auctioneer, it's pretty much game over right there

Priest was my first legend class and I've been playing mostly Razakus since I got tired of druid this expansion. Your post is exactly everything I would say about the archtype if I bothered to write on it. Well done :)

i agree that w/o velen or lyra, a midrangey minion-based approach is probably going to be stronger. i think the dragon package works well for this. here's a sample i threw together very quickly using mostly cards the initial poster should have. he might need to craft dragonfire and primordial drake, but they are essentials in many decks and are worth having. if they have any legendary dragons, the deck could possibly slot ysera, onyxia, or maybe malygos (swapping for a few more damage spells). if having pirate troubles, slotting golakka and the curator might be ok.

edit: just saw they have glimmerroot, could put that in for faerie dragon or something.

It's from the tracker...If you have it installed while you play the deck it shows all the games people with the  tracker have played with this exact list and their global winrates.I guess seeing the winrates in the guide and scrolling up to see apathys comment was too hard for you XD

I was grinding all month with a version of highlander priest running Elise the Trailblazer, The Lich King, and Obsidian Statue for more late game value, as well as Holy Nova, cutting some of the draw.  I had tried a draw heavy version of the deck early in the month, but it was teched hard for Pirate Warrior, including Acidic Swamp Ooze, Golakka Crawler, Gluttonous Ooze, and Cabal Shadow Priest, and no Prophet Velen either.  This deck did badly, but with the heavier late game version I reached rank 1 3 stars and stalled out hard, falling back to rank 3 for a while.  

After reading this thread I cut late game plus Holy Nova, and added in Novice Engineer, Acolyte of Pain, Gnomish Inventor, and Mind Blast. The changes made a huge difference.  After grinding like a 54% win rate from rank 10 to rank 1, I went 16-6 with a way more consistent deck and hit legend for the first time.  Thanks for the advice.

All in all this is a typical EU build deck that will perform sub par on NA or Asian servers...Its not bad, but is too greedy to be consistent. I gave the deck 30 games at legend. It ended up losing. Though I am happy this exist been farming them pretty consistently with decks that its "very favored" against.

There are better more consistent builds. And now there will be downvoting cause eu players can't take honesty.

Thanks for your post. I think those are pretty solid opinions. I don't understand why so many lists include prophet Velen without Mind Blast. If you have one, it makes sense to me to have the other.

Im playing dirty rat in my Razakus dragon priest (also curious glimmeroot and drakonid operative to hopefully get iceblock). It may also screw other Razakus decks and its a nice Taunt vs aggro when they are running out of steam and you are starting to stabilize

Pretty good deck, but w/r is fake. 65% avrg with this deck.

You have to ramp aggressively so you can get out a Jade Behemoth to protect a Gadgetzan Auctioneer so you can do a "miracle" turn and generate a ton of jades.  If you haven't played jades before you *always* cast the first Jade Idol as jade and recycle the second one - you don't want a bunch of Jade Idols in diluting the deck until you have your combo.

This deck has stripped out everything but the combo pieces and the ramp to use them.  Unfortunately, you very well might get the pieces in the wrong order.  You *really* want a wild growth early so you can get out a Behemoth on turn 4.

The thing about any inexpensive quest deck like this is there is no, or very little margin for error - so you just have to restart until you get a good start.
