I've seen a bunch of cards that involve increasing the cost of either Odd or Even cards in your deck using a Start of Game effect, presumably so you can run the opposite cards in Genn/Baku decks. These cards would not work, you'd just be increasing the cost of some of the cards in your deck and not even getting the Genn/Baku effect.
We know this wouldn't work because of a clarification from Mike Donais. When asked about the interaction between Baku the Mooneater and Prince Malchezaar, he said:
"Just tested this and you can run both and they both trigger even if Malchezzar adds even cost cards to your deck." (Source)
As such, we can see that Start of Game cards will be checking the state of your deck before any other effects take place and then activating. So, you can totally submit cards like that, but I'll definitely be ragging on them if they make it to the final poll.
Sorry if this came off a bit aggressive, I just don't like the idea of trying to subvert a restriction we haven't even played with yet. It's like seeing Reno for the first time and immediately making a card that you can run multiples of but it only counts as one copy, it's so boring.
It's more like making a card with a start of game effect that says multiple copies of cards in your deck only count as one copy for the rest of the game.
I haven't been on here actively Oddly enough...and Even then...eh, haven't done this in a while, but I'mma try this again cause why not? My skills are a bit rusty, so these cards are probably too OP or weak. >.< Either way, your thoughts?
Ella, get more active! (In all reality, I understand)
How do you know Gwen will trigger before Baku or Genn?
I do like The Divinding Conquerer's, though having its effect on a class Legendary may seem a little limiting. Even the Odds is my favorite because it has great flavor and works well. The pun is obvious, but still appreciated. The artwork is awesome too.
Note: Darkforest Ranger's effect does work with Baku the Mooneater's upgraded Hero Power, so you will actually get to deal 3 damage as your Hero Power. Darkbomb makes a pretty good Hero Power, am I right?
Pyrolash works as a replacement for Frostbolt in Odd Mage and it works nice with Black Cat. It also works in Even Mage as well if you want to try that. You can play this card in both.
The wording on Pyrolash is kinda confusing, in that it sounds like it wouldn't work in either odd or even decks, since it always counts as the other one. I think it should be worded like "Counts as either an even or odd-Cost card." That way, it gets counted as the one that matters, not both.
The idea is it has charge, so you can attack with it, have it die, and it comes back. Only, it's now Silenced, so it doesn't have Rush when it's resummoned, and the Deathrattle is no longer there.
I feel like the Deathrattle effect doesn't need to be as wordy as it is. I'm pretty sure it could just say "Deathrattle: Summon a 2/2 minion" and it would do the exact same thing roughly 100% of the time. The only possible usage I can see with making the effect the way it is would be if Team 5 were to ever make an Unsilence card.
In this case, it's important for flavor. It's supposed to be the same minion. It also does make a big difference from what you suggested, because you can pop this back to your hand and resummon it to get the Rush and Deathrattle again (i.e., Shadowstep).

The idea is that you gain more spell damage as you play more of these in a turn, so the additional ones you play deal progressively more damage. You could also play it and follow it up with an AOE for extra value.
I thought what Paladin would need in Arena is some single target removal. Also, while putting something on the bottom of the deck in a normal game is basically the same as destroying it, Arena decks can be a lot slower, with more balanced play, so there's a higher chance that minion is going to come back at the worst possible time.
Question. Am I allowed to post my class thread now, or should I wait until the competition is over and the finalists have already done theirs?
I think you're safe. It'll be like 2 weeks before the submissions end (or something, I don't know, I don't keep track of time too well), and I've put up a thread with my class. It's not too popular but there you have it! I think it would be interesting to hold a 'losers bracket' in the competition and then put up the final winner vs the winner of the loser's bracket, if only unofficially
Double elimination, eh?:D That could be a fun format for future comp :)
The problem is Phase 2 would still have everyone, so it would be hell for the mods.
Okay, this is what I want to submit, but I'm not sure if I should make it a Paladin or Druid card:
Also, how is the balance?
I like both cards. I think it might fit paladin better as it is a soft removal after all. I'm not sure about the "revive it in two turns" - what does that mean? Does that mean two of your opponents turns or just two turns total? Does your current turn count as a turn? If it's your opponents turns, I would clarify that by simply writing it ("Revive it after your opponent has had two turns" or something like that). If you use the druid version "hibernation", I'd use "awaken" instead of "revive". Lastly, I think 2 mana would be fair. Sap forces the enemy to pay the mana cost again, and I actually see that as a bigger penalty than having to wait an extra turn.
It would be at the start of your turn two turns from now. So, you play it, one turn passes, meaning it's the start of your turn again, another turn passes, meaning it's the start of your turn again, which is when it wakes up. I think that's longer than you considered it to be? Unlike Sap, it can't come back on the next turn. Also, I think making it super clear when it comes back would actually be detrimental to the card, because the wording wouldn't be simple anymore.
Bumbing one of my first designs and posting two new ones:
Crystal is for burst mage
Servant is for forgotten Shadowform Priest, I think the minions should be 3/1's since you can have two of them.
Odo is to mess with a midrange playstyle by making one random enemy dormant each turn.
I like Odo the best out of these, but why bother putting the ability on a weapon he summons? Why not make the weapon's text his text? That would simplify things a lot.

Here's my first idea:
Replaces Wrath if you aren't allowed to have even-Cost cards, but not completely useless otherwise (like if you get it randomly).

Okay, here's a hopefully non-broken idea:
The idea is it has charge, so you can attack with it, have it die, and it comes back. Only, it's now Silenced, so it doesn't have Rush when it's resummoned, and the Deathrattle is no longer there.

The targeted minion will be dormant will come back at the start of your second turn after you play this.
