Remember that whenever they nerf Evolve, they are also buffing Devolve.

Alaazure posted a message on Corrupted Dragons (Outdated)Posted in: Corrupted Dragons (Outdated)So went 7 - 3 (70%). Not bad. I think the deck overall is in a good place as it is right now. Could maaaaybe argue having at least one more board clear spell, but not sure what would be replaced if so.

Hootanic posted a message on Corrupted Dragons (Outdated)Posted in: Corrupted Dragons (Outdated)Dragon Priest has always been about mid-range play-style while using the dragon synergy to out-value other mid-range decks. Shaman has new tools to try and do the same thing with the evolution gimmick. The secret to beating them is understanding their playstayle and the drawbacks of their cards.
You must mulligan aggressively for your whelps and wyrmrest agents to gain early board advantage. Turn 4, they are going to play Flamewreathed Faceless, so try an locate your Shadow Word: Death or make sure you have some other answer for it in minions. From there on if you play on curve and make efficient trades, you can out value the shaman.

Seagull0 posted a message on Deck Building and Getting it Out There on Hearthpwn!Posted in: General Deck BuildingMy decks are barely popular too, but here's what I've recently learned and I think everyone can learn from:
- Before someone checks out what the deck contains he/she looks at its "packaging" first. How your deck is "packaged" is the first thing the hearthpwner will pay attention to and decide whether to invest his time just reading and analysing the deck (that's before he'd even want to try it out).
There are several packages that the hearthpwner subconsciously opens before he tries out the deck, and they are (by order)
1. The deck's name.
2. The deck's builder (if he's known or not).
3. how many upvotes/comments it received.
4. how many cards that he can relate to are in the deck. (this means cards like dr. boom or sylvanas. These are cards which are immediately noticed by the reader and would make him subconsciously have a minor leaning towards whether he thinks the deck is good or not).
5. Superficially (without giving too much effort into analysing the deck), the hearthpwner will look for the deck's synergy, subconsciously. If the deck strikes as one that has good synergy then he will continue to have interest in it and analyse it further.
6. How reader friendly is the deck's guide? (after steps 4 and 5, which happens as the hearthpwner just glares at the deck (step 4 and 5 take about 5-15 seconds!!! It's all based on gut feeling on those moments). If the hearthpwner sees a giant wall of words, with no editing, no simplicity, no friendly comments by the creator, then he will (most likely) lose interest.
7. If you've managed to get through steps 1-6, then the hearthpwner should now be at a stage where he is genuinely interested in the deck and starts to read the guide carefully.
8. Does the guide make sense? Is the guide's remarks intelligent and seem like they make sense and not just some theorising and farfetched theories? If it does then the hearthpwner will get further interested in the deck.
9. This is a very subjective step, as it is completely subjective to the interested hearthpwner. The step is: ask a question or make a remark regarding the deck. If he's done so, then all that's left for the deck builder is to reply with an answer that will bring contentment and it's absolutely guaranteed that he will try out the deck!
10. If step 9 didn't happen then it's possible that the interested hearthpwner didn't have any questions or remarks regarding the deck and went on directly to try it out!
Note: Steps 1-7 happen in a blink of an eye (20 seconds at maximum), without even noticing. It's all based on the readers' gut feeling at those moments!

You're very right, thats a replacement I made since I made this change. No downside to losing battlecry now :) Thanks for reminding me to make the change to the decklist though.

Sylvanas and Chillmaw (Makes N'zoth good enough, like seriously)
Shifting Shade
Museum Curator x2 (With brann ability even more)
Entomb Targets
Give it a shot and you'll see!

I KNOW I KNOW! You don't know how much I love Deathwing man, It's just unfortunately not a high enough impact on the board until your opponent kills him, which they usually just won't do. and if he gets sapped its over,
I replaced him for a different new card though! It's not the same but still I tried /:

Yeah the matchups are essentially
Grim Patron 100% win Rate
Aggro Shaman 30-40% win Rate
Tempo Mage 40% win Rate
Those are the important ones. Aggro Shaman makes this deck so difficult to succeed, because with every 4-5 games I play I often find one Aggro Shaman to screw my day or boost my confidence. But it's really a streak killer and since its so common I really see issues.
Tempo mage pretty much wins when they face it the whole time and you don't draw excavated evil.
The rest of the matchups aren't very difficult for me, and I don't really find myself losing to any other decks besides the occasional Zoo or rogue aggros I see when I don't have excavated evil.
I will begin streaming with this deck ove rthe weekend, I hope you can stay tuned and watch, I will highlight them if any of you guys miss the games, but I want to see y'all succeed. Besides that Ysera is a really amazing card that would be great to have, I will respond again when I finally get some sleep, and have advice to give. If you want/have any specifics then let me know

Say less! I've been drowning in school work and have been trying to appease these critics in the comments so I couldn't really do anything, but since its the weekend I will do everything I can to put an in depth video guide out by the end of it so you guys can see the playstyle and important choices you need to make versus matchups!

Extra win-condition, helps you contest with the much slower decks and pretty much is why my win percentage versus nearly all control decks has been extremely high 90s. It is a high impact card that creates a huge presence on board that can't just be ridden with a board clear.
Brings back the 2-4 curator targets, Chillmaws, Shifting Shade, Sylvanas, and then you opponents cards that you could get from sylvanas and entomb.
it sounds gimmicky, but vs the N'zoth Pally matchup I always save my entomb for their tirion if I can and then not only does their n'zoth lose value but mine gains huge value.
Its a great power play in the late game, and once you play it the things that can deal with it are - Vanish, Brawl, Doom, and Twisting Nether.
It also has a huge surprise factor, because when they go against dragon priest, they see oh okay, I just need to dismantle their board control and they can't really come back. They use resources like the cards I listed above in attempt to make it so once you're out of big dragons and everything that the game is over, but as soon as you play N'zoth and they've got nothing, you put the control matchup in a near impossible state of return.
Give it a shot and let me know what ya think!

Requires a pretty specific playstyle, and pretty different from some other decks and advanced cause there are tough choices need to be made. maybe I'm getting really lucky and a lot of other people in the comments as well.

So weird you think that, when I post my video guide hopefully it can lend a helping hand, because though this deck has tough matchups against the most popular deck out right now (aggro shaman), most other decks struggle with the matchup as well, and as long as you play your cards right and mulligan ight you shouldn't be "consistently" getting rushed down at all. Also most other matchups are a literal PIECE OF CAKE, it's too easy, which is what makes the deck as powerfula s it is.
Dragon priest was always the deck with the tools to limit the ruthless aggression of these types of decks, and with it's new tools it is a bit more difficult but not impossible. I'll post the video guide when I get the chance though. Sorry you feel this way but nah

A video of the deck with the new update unfortunately does not exist, but people have posted their videos of the old version if you search deep in the comments. But since you think it will be helpful, I will make a video guide tonight! (I just don't know how to embed video into a decklist, if you can teach me how to do that or if anyone knows that would be super helpful!)
2
Say no more! I can help with that (edits coming tonight)
however, experience does help. I get that you've lost a few games, but you learn the deck better through playing it (mulligans, strategies, when to play what, which cards can bait whichever, when to save and use your entombs, Pains, Deaths, when to use chillmaw, when to use Excavated evil) All of the sort
Give it a couple more tries while I update the write-up and make it better for the new version of the deck.
And since you don't have chillmaw, I really think it'd probably just be smarter to play nefarian then and hope to get chillmaw off of Museum Curator, but abomination doesn't solve the purpose at all.
