Based on HSReplay stats the arena population has doubled. I see a lot of constructed streamers and standard players trying arena, so I would like to hear their opinion after a week. A lot of constructed players praised the power level increase in dual class arenas.
I don't hate the new arena meta yet, I love the challenge of adapting to a new meta.
I made a 10 win Big Spell Mage deck. It had artificer x2, ice barrier, plated beetle, pyros, blizzard, meteor x2, firelands x2. All it needed was Jaina LUL. I find it funny that I made artificer and ice barrier work in arena.
But there needs to be a separation between the gamemodes, this new arena feels too close to constructed. Some people come to arena to play with mediocre and bad cards, because they are unplayable in constructed. Arena was a place where players could experience all of the cards in an expansion.
The gameplay would be really bad if you didn't know the decklists. You need to know what class to ban and your mulligan strategy is very different based on the archetype you are facing.
I personally don't like gatekeeping at any of the rank floors because some players just want to get to their desired rank and play meme decks at that rank for the rest of the season.
Rank 5 is my favorite rank floor and I'll let all of you rank 6 players in :)
Half of my opponents are mage or paladin, such a boring event. Good job on class offering rate Blizzard.
I had a few fun decks, buff priest with Eydis Darkbane and token druid with Kel'Thuzad. But most of my decks are low skill curvestone to get a high win.
The leaderboard averages for this expansion have been really low. They are around the same score I had when I made the leaderboard in the 3rd month of JTU. The first month of low scores we blamed the dungeons runs because they were really fun. I don't know what we blame the second month of low scores on.
The constructed meta is actually really enjoyable for me right now. Control is very powerful in standard, combo decks are viable in Wild and these are the decks I like to play. So I've been avoiding arena like Kripp because I don't want to deal with the OP Priest arena fiesta.
I'll come back to arena when the wild promotion launches and there are lots of free wins.

Wicked Skeleton Do I finally get to see play?

The arena update is amazing!!!

Some players cut scalebane for book wyrm. Don't add other spells, it ruins the deck synergy.

A control meta is fine. 95% of players bringing Warlock and less than 5% bringing Shaman is not fine.

Despite not making the top 8, Hunter had the second best class win rate during the tournament.
on my brothers

The secret to tournament success is practice partners, since you can't ban a class on ladder.
Ladder can feel like a waste of time when your tournament game plan is to counter X archetype and need to ban X class.

Thank you for the decklist. It was my first time playing spiteful summoner and I went 9-3 :)

I got access to MTG arena today.
No tutorial, just a collection manager and ranked constructed game mode. 3 daily quest system like Hearthstone.
You can make a 60 card deck and 15 card sideboard. I have no idea how to build a decent deck LUL

Miracle Rogue is viable to get to rank 5, and then I see lots of Rogue streamers on Twitch get stuck at rank 3.
