Shiftcon has gotten so big it's had to expand! Shiftcon West brings all the same *fun* but now includes commemorative Shifting Scrolls!
Weird how they spell "RNG".

TriOptimum posted a message on A Chance Encounter is This Week's Brawl!Posted in: NewsIs it just me or does this brawl sound like a slap in the face? One of the biggest complaints in Hearthstone is the amount of RNG and Blizzard writes "We heard you like random cards!" on the front of this weeks brawl. Just rubbed me the wrong way. Came across as nasty. Anyone else?

EDIT: Also Sindragossa is way weaker now, she just starts with 2 ice blocks (reducing enemy board space by two) and have hero power that deals 2 damage. That's it.

This just proves that Blizzard has lost its touch when it comes to community needs and feedback. There was a huge lash-back regarding last weeks RNG-brawl and they just give us another pure RNG driven brawl. C'mon Blizzard, we know you can do better...

Honestly, I'm at the end of my rope with HS. Played since beta, played through all the bull!@#$ phases and broken decks, but somehow lately, I just simply don't give a crap anymore (kinda like HS team...).

Indeed, in my angry rant I somewhat missed the necessity to be clearer about my point. However, TallAr92 has summed it wonderfully for me, thank you very much indeed.
I apologize for lack of coherence to the community and anyone who spent time reading my post without realizing what I was on about.

I get RNG implementation, I really do. It is basically gambling - that final Ragnaros hit to your opponents face that kills him even though he had 5 cards on the board, that Piloted Shredder Doomsayer drop that kills full board for your nemesis, Unidentified Maul's +1 attack that decides the game; that rush, that's the biggest rush you can have and they want us chasing it. The more you chase, the more you play. The more you play, the more probability you'll spend money on the game.
Obviously, RNG has to be there when it comes to card games, but Blizzard has steadily been increasing it through time and this arena move is just the latest installment of shit sandwich that's served to all us rush-chasers. Now, I'm more of a constructed player but I do enjoy arena game from time to time. This update made it unplayable if you are one of the rare breed of men or women who like to play their games with as little stress as possible. I know Blizzard won't change their business model, re-evaluate this Taverns of Time crap and so on, but it would be nice if at least there is a little bit of consideration for everyone (and I mean everyone) who play this game and that is - do NOT push your choices on us. Let me choose which arena I want to pull my hair out with, regular madness or Toki's purgatory arena playground. So if you are inclined to use rusty razor wire to floss and play with these new '28 Arena exclusive cards', please do. But leave the fuck rest of us alone. Tnx.

Hello Hearthpwn,
I couldn't find a better place to share a my small achievement than Heartpwn, site that kept me company through my Hearthpwn sessions ever since mid 2014 when I got my hands on Hearthstone beta.
Almost 4 years and countless seasonal tries later, I finally got to the legendary peak.
I reached rank 3 or 4 many times before, but never had mental fortitude for the final push. After reaching rank 3 this month rather smoothly with Spiteful druid, I decided to go for it. After additional 20 or so hours and facing final boss 4 times, it was Cubelock that pushed me through the finish line.
I'd like to use this post to also say thank you to a lot of helpful players, guides, posts and articles I found on this website. Even though we do tend to be somewhat toxic-y from time to time, I still see it as the best Hearthstone community out there.
Thanks for listening all! Happy laddering, fellow climbers!

Another proof that this community is toxic AF...

I played a lot of control warlock last two seasons and here are my conclusions - got to Rank 4 in September easily but Keleseth decks made my climbing much more difficult in October. I don't think you will be able to be consistent enough with control warlock in order to reach legend, e.g. if any rogue gets Shadowstep and Prince Keleseth in his opening hand, that reduces your chances of winning drastically. You might be better off with joining the Keleseth bandwagon.

I'm struggling immensely with this deck, playing the variation with two DFPs. Obviously, I could be playing it all wrong, but pirate warrior wreck you unless you get a good opening hand, with quest warriors I struggle in late game, quest rogues tend to overwhelm you, can't kill quest mages fast enough (only if you get lucky with Dirty Rat pull). Going through most of the popular decks atm, you can't find any matchup where you are vastly favored to win.
Again, I might be playing it wrongly, but I've been playing since beta and usually end up around rank 5 when I have the time to play, so I do have some idea on HS. This is not a whining post, but rather a warning one to others :)
OFC, thank you very much for sharing this deck!

From my experience, the deck doesn't do great with current EU meta. If you don't mulligan reasonably well, comeback potential is severely limited and deck doesn't have enough healing power to deal with pure aggro. This is not to say that I didn't have some success with it, it just isn't as godly as it is portrayed by the poster and community. Shamans stomp all over you, druids more or less the same, not to forget aggrolocks and hunters. Warriors are probably your best friends, since this is an easy win most of the time - then again any priest deck does well vs warriors.
All being said, still fun to play mate :)

I see your point, but priests generally have weaker early game and this deck isn't all that different (especially with no Wild Pyros). Later on, you are kinda catching up most of the time, while some other priest deck like pure N'zoth including Wild pyros, Cabal Shadow priests give you far better control of the game. It is fun to play, but with meta predominantly being aggro I find this deck to struggle more than dominate.
