posted a message on Quest Control

This deck is so much fun. I've had more than a few quest warriors concede on me as games stretch on (especially after amulet resurrects multiple lightshower elementals). I even won a few games substituting Mutanus for Nozdormu for the mid month quest (with it triggering even!). That was a fun game!

posted a message on Dean Ayala Asks: What Would Get You Back Into Hearthstone?

Another new game mode or more special events like MTGA does (they've done multiple pauper events with no entree fee for alternate art card rewards, singleton events, special rules events basically like tavern brawl but with actual rewards), tournament mode (still waiting on that one...), but most importantly, more interesting expansions. I'm just so uninterested in most decks and cards right now. I hope this year is better.

posted a message on Brawl of Champions Round One Is This Week's Tavern Brawl

Mage certainly seems powerful, but I beat Mage in my first two brawls using Warrior and Paladin. Yes, Paladin was pretty tough since they keep getting free extra pings if you even bother making a dude (much worse with the pyro as they get free draws too), but if you survive to late game, the paladin shrine and Djinn and Lynessa are game winners.

But yeah, played Mage against Warlock for my third and it was a blowout.

posted a message on A few reasons why Hearthstone needs new game Modes/Servers

Reasons why Hearthstone needs new game modes? It's getting boring AF. 5 years and all we got is Tavern Brawl, many of which are repeats? Gee, thanks. Still wonder what that Tournament Mode idea was about. A joke perhaps?

Pay them to support their horrible business practice? Sure, why not! Oh, because I earn my money and don't want to give it to executives that hand themselves fat bonuses and then quit in three months. That's why not.

    Quote from AndrewJaggery >>

most people are saying this is a bad nerf, but I disagree.

I understand why would might not like this nerf, it was still a good nerf because now in future expansions, blizzard can print better AOEs for paladin, and possibly make a better control deck for them.

So you're saying that they nerfed a good card so that they can print an even better card? That... makes a lot of sense?

posted a message on Main Problem with Hearthstone

Well said. They do need to add a new mode or something else besides a (sometimes new) tavern brawl every week. Magic Arena has several events, many available simultaneously, such as streamer events with special rules, or pauper or singleton, etc. Hearthstone just hasn't changed enough over the years and thus is growing very stale for a long time player like me. As another player mentioned above, I also have all golden portraits and the legend card back. All I do now is log in every three days to complete quests with my wife. The game has lost its interest and the only "enjoyment" we still have is opening packs... And even that sucks since most of the time we open junk (at least we have a lot of dust).

As for Magic Arena, I find myself playing even after I have gained all daily rewards (15 wins). If Hearthstone doesn't get any better this year, it might be time that I finally quit for good.

posted a message on Playing for Goal or Fun

The game lost its fun a long time ago for me. As for now, I've reached all my goals. I've gotten legend, I have all 9 golden heroes, and now I'm slowly working on converting certain favorite classic legendary cards to their golden versions (only when I have a great excess of dust or perhaps during Hall of Fame rotations). I know I'm not really gonna turn all my cards golden, so all I really do is play to finish quests with my wife every 3 days. Pretty much just have fun opening packs with her every 4 months. Magic Arena is taking up more of my free time, so if HS doesn't pick up this year for me, maybe this is the year I quit for good.

posted a message on Should Blizzard implement a Public Test Server for expansions before they go live?

I've yet to see anyone offer credible evidence that "the hype of the expansion build-up" is something to be valued to the point that we should favor it over an effective testing of new content.

Credible evidence? How about just common sense.

Guess you've got it all figured out. Apply to Blizzard or petition them with your grand idea. We're all eagerly awaiting implementation with bated breath...

First, i believe they wont do it, cause they would "look bad", like they cant handle it themselves. Which we know that is a fact ...

Just wanted to highlight this because it's a great point. They should be able to handle balancing 135 cards by themselves. If they actually need a PTR and thousands of players to see if a card isn't balanced or that a certain combo is too powerful, well, then they really do suck and should hire some better testers. Again, their sets are pretty small compared to a game like Magic.

posted a message on Why doesnt blizz update this game?

Maximum profits with minimal effort is why.

I get that they want to keep the interface simple with the stupid Hearthstone chest and everything, but they could easily toss in an Achievement button where the options menu is. That button could take you to maybe a hidden section under the chest or just an achievement tracker similar to WoW. Then everyone can see all the little "hidden" achievements (because currently they pretty much are hidden such as the rewards for collecting one of every card in the set, etc.) and they can add a ton more (as many as they want and add more with each new expansion). Why don't they do something like this like they did for WoW so that players could have more things to do? Probably because it's free to play and they don't feel like they need to.
