I’ve been past rank 15 (highest is 4) but for some reason I am starting at 24 this season. What gives?

This deck did work for me after trying some others on this site. You have to get extremely lucky with both your mulligan and the way the Lich King draws. Sometimes you get your Alley Cat turn one and Hyena turn two and he just Obliterates and it's GG. So it comes down to you being able to get a huge Hyena and him not having a way to remove it before turn 7.

It's extremely frustrating but after about 10 tries with this deck I was able to pull out the win.

Hey Thanks for the deck! Very fun to play and the DK Warlock is even stronger in wild with Voidcaller and Mal'Ganis. How does it fair against Pirate Warrior in your experience? 

Glad you like it! I found a deck similar to this one and added more early game cards to help with the pirate warrior match up. 

1) Sometimes playing 2, 2 mana minions on turn two is a good option of you have some type of buff spell that you want to use the following turn. Assuming your opponent only has 1 spell to remove only one of your minions then the next turn you can buff the remaining minion which you would not be able to do if you only played the one minion and it got removed. A good example of this is a Paladin player who plays multiple small minions on turn 5 hoping one will survive until the next turn so they can play Spikeridged Steed on it. Like market_show said, it comes down to playing a bunch of games and watching streams or Youtube videos to see how experienced players play the game and the deck you are playing or interested in.

2) Playing around these cards is not easy. If your opponent has their Fiery War Axe in play then you probably shouldn't play minions with 3 or less health that you don't want to be sacrificed by their weapon. Also including weapon removal like Acidic Swamp Ooze, Glutenous Ooze or Harrison Jones in your deck could be helpful. With Fireball you can try to bait them into using it by playing a minion that you think they may use it on that is not that important in your overall game plan. Something with 4 or more health may do the trick as it is out of Frostbolt range. 

3) Not sure I understand the question exactly. If these are the only cards in your hand you will not be able to play on curve every turn. Often times you can not play on curve every turn. Trying to use all of your mana in the most effecient way each turn is a very important aspect of the game but it will not always be possible depending how you draw.

4) This question comes down to experience and can not possibly be answered with a simple few sentences. Each game is different and will play out differently. Your game plan with one deck will change from game to game so just play a lot of games and get experience with a deck.

These types of questions are hard to give advice on without knowing your specific situation in regards to expendable income etc. If you really enjoy the game I would say go ahead and spend the cash. Personally I spend $50 on the preorder per expansion, it was less in the past because of the adventures but those are gone now. So basically It's $150 or so per year on the game. For me this is worth the money I put into the game without question. I play the game probably 1-2 hours almost everyday so the value per dollar is very high and I love the game. Without missing a quest and re-rolling the low gold quests I am able to play most competitive decks. I disenchant cards that aren't good in the meta to help make the decks I want to play. 

Bottom line is $100 is a lot of money to most people. If it is set aside for your entertainment budget, not going to impact your day to day life negatively, and you enjoy the game enough I would say go for it. The $100 should get you enough cards/dust to make at least a couple viable decks. If you spend the hundred now and start saving up your gold you should probably have around 3000 gold to buy 30 packs with when the next expansion drops.

I created a second account on EU so when the servers go down for maintenance I can still play on the other server. I live in the Eastern time zone  in NA so when there's maintenance it falls in the early morning when I have some time to squeeze some games in...at work. 

My advice would be to try and play a set number of games per day. Try and go for about 15 if you have the time. Take a short break if you go on a losing streak as this can greatly affect your mindset and your ability to think your plays out clearly. I would advise against swapping decks too much as, in my experience, it usually does more harm than good and you will probably find that you would have won more games had you stayed with a deck you know well. It is a good idea to have a couple of competitive decks that you are familiar with so you can swap between them depending on what you are facing on that particular day. A lot of decks are putting anti-pirate cards in their decks because of the popularity of pirates so that can play a factor. And, as others have said, the ability of your opponents will definitely increase the higher you climb.

If you can reach Rank 8 I believe you can surely reach Rank 5. Just stick with it, continue to grind games and you will get there. 

Patches if you like playing aggro decks. N'Zoth isn't really seeing any play in standard but is pretty strong in wild. Medivh is the played in one of the strongest decks in the meta right now, being control/freeze mage. Personally I would go with Medivh but it depends on your play style and what you have in your collection to build the decks that these legendaries fit in. 

**Just realized that you can't craft Medivh. You have to unlock him from the 4th and final wing of Karazhan. Seems pretty expensive for one card so I would probably go with Patches in that case assuming you prefer Standard over Wild**

Dude great deck and a lot of fun to play. How useful do you find Undercity Valiant? How do you feel about swapping it for a second fan of knives or something else? This is working very well for me at the moment. Thanks for sharing!

Just wanted to update for this deck. I am currently at rank 6 almost exclusively playing this deck. I've met a few people on ladder who have said that I was the only dragon warrior they've seen all season. More people should be playing this deck! I've gone 18-3 in my last 21 games getting up to rank 6! Try out this deck people!!
