If Ragnaros minion's fire ball counts as Lifesteal (I'm pretty sure it does), then the Hero Power should do Lifesteal too, as well as when you attack.

That is, ofc, if Jaina's Battlecry does apply to ALL Elementals, and not just Elemental minions.

Sacrificial Pact on Jaraxxus works, so imo Rag Hero should have Lifesteal if Jaina went off.

But this is Blizzard and they are inconsistent as hell, like they can't even get card text straight half the time so expecting them to have prepared for this scenario is a stretch.

The problem is Jaraxxus is a minion, a Demon minion. There is no Ragnaros Hero Card we can look at and see if it is an Elemental or not. We know the character Ragnaros is an Elemental and that his minion card is an Elemental, but regarding his Hero, there is nothing for us to check. Majordomo doesn't give us a Ragnaros Hero card for us to play or a minion with similar effect to Jaraxxus, it replaces right away.
This is the same thing as with Mrglglglg, the Shaman Hero. Since he is a murloc, cards that affect Murlocs should work on him but they don't and that is likely because as a Hero, they don't have any Tribe tag associated with them, it's like the tribe is Hero rather than Elemental or Murloc.
Jaraxxus is the only special case because he is a minion card which replaces the Hero on Battlecry, but unlike the others, can be played on the board as a minion. He is listed as a Demon. Jaraxxus being this special singular case, means interactions for him were decided on a case by case basis.

We can come up with these fancy explanations, but the right answer is blizzard's inconsistency.
Look for Blizzard to make a change to this once Jaina rotates to wild which will not be announced at all - at which time the deck will totally break the wild meta once it is discovered (Sound familiar ... cough ... naga ... cough).

That Dr. boom could be a Jaina DK or Antonidas you know?

Jaina is too controlly for this list, but with all the draw and 1 cost spells antonidas could really shine.

Odd mage will definately be a thing in wild.  We won't be getting any more odd-matters support, but provided they print more cards with an odd mana cost the upgraded hero power is going to be too juicy to ignore - in wild at least.

Also, on the face of it, this deck seriously lacks a win-con, and tempo can be great, but odd-only will definitely make for some clunky turns, which is anti-tempo.  Boom has got to go - he never sees play anymore.  Antonidas is like a poor-mans Aluneth, but when you gotta have odd-cost he is the natural fill-in for a deck that NEEDS Aluneth.

This deck also NEEDS more face spells, so Tony can deliver.

Twilight Darkmender is amazing in C'Thun Priest. Unfortunately, the deck never really took off, but I had a lot of fun playing C'Thun Priest when WotOG first came out. I really wish the entire C'Thun Priest archetype did better, although Priest in general wasn't very good at the time.

I would also like to give a mention to Hallazeal the Ascended. It's a really cool card. A little bit situational, but when it works, it can literally win you the game and its effect is SO satisfying to pull off. I'm sad that it didn't see that much play.

Hal saw lots of play before frozen throne in control thuzad shaman - back when the volcano was a great card.

Oh, there's a bunch of them for me:

Selfless Hero,Infest, Protect the King! (just worse version of Unleash the Hounds), Ethereal Peddler, Avian Watcher, Dispatch Kodo, Manic Soulcaster (after Reno rotation she became completely useless), Mana Geode (apparently the only bad priest card from Gadgetzan), Lotus Assassin

Dispatch Kodo is a great card - the problem is hunter sucks - not the kodo.

helps OTK combo priest to diversify divine spirits - and is a sort of divine spirit.  Give it a very good.

works with shellraiser for a really big taunt minion from hand on turn 9

This card is way underrated as an aggro finisher.

If you've been vomitting your hand and you have no hand left (discolock, token druid, aggro palladin, aggro rogue) then this card can give you potentially a ton of cards.

Say you are against mage and grab some burn spells, or against control and grab a hand full of top-end expensive minions.

Druid can kill a blocker with naturalize and then add two extra cards ontop of whats already in the opponents hand.

    Way underrated.

This is unfair as shit, dude.  Warlocks, as the only demon users, don't deserve to have neutral cards that tech THIS hard vs them.  Black Knight and Skulking Geist are fair neutral techs because every class uses taunts and 1-drops.

Unfair? A way over-costed 7 drop pure tech choice?  Nah, if you need an anti warlock tech this bad that you will stick in a card that is shit in 80% of matchups  you know the offending class has gone too far.  If anything the upside reward is underwhelming.  When you tech correctly you deserve to be rewarded, especially at this mana cost

it is a neutral that is really strong against one class and does not effect any others

edit: every warlock uses demons even when they aren't broken, so it is punishing a whole class instead of a specific card or archetype

It is only punishing BIG demons.  if you play this guy on an imp the warlock comes out ahead.  I see no difference between punishing a single class and punishing another tribe like pirates or murlocs. When you are teching against something so specific that it makes up a fraction of the meta, you deserve to be handsomely rewarded the fraction of your games where it pays off.  If this card was printed it would be played BY WARLOCKS as much as by non-warlocks.  murlocs and pirates are single strategy cards (aggro) there is some parity between teching against a strategy and teching against a class.  Maybe the game needs more class counters like a 2 mana 3 damage spell that does 6 damage to a mage. or a neutral minion with battlecry that steals a silverhand recruit and give it +5/+5
Still, look at the mana cost.  you are loosing massive tempo by playing this card against non-demon decks.  It is given as a legendary and you are slotting in a tech choice that is a dead card against aggro that kills you before turn 7.  There is no way that this is unfair - this might even see less play than the current illidan, which is zero play - except that it might turn out that the card is great IN A WARLOCK DECK WHERE YOU KILL YOUR OWN DEMONS for profit.
Compare this to skulking geist as an anti jade tech of old - how is this a more effective (or oppresive) tech than geist which works against other decks that you aren't even trying to tech against?

posted a message on They Hall of Famed the wrong Mage card

Doesn't doomsayer fit exactly the same niche but at neutral and 2 cost?  he prevents minions from being played and is a board clear.  He sees a lot of tournament play, hes been a staple since forever, he kindof restricts what a good control card at 2 mana looks like, he is infuriating to play against and has a bunch of related combos.  He is nearly impossible to remove for 2 mana and can nullify a well developed early board in a flash.

Counterspell can cheaply be played around - counterspell isn't the problem, the ability for mage to agress early with minions (as a spell based class) is the problem.  The real problem is a lack of more aggressive decks at the moment thanks to 1) call to arms (paladin is the main viable aggressive class) and 2) priest and warlock totally shitting on traditional aggro.

Aggro needs more tools to be viable and then you will see secret mage get pushed aside - a solution that needs ZERO cards nerfed, just a printing of some sick warrior shaman and rogue aggro options that can stand up against the removal of warlocks and priests, and not get totally outclassed by Call to arms. Heck, even a comeback from zoolock would help.

Control/Combo metas are the worst - I would take a pirates meta any day - UNNERF Small-time buck!!!
