EDIT: Spreadsheet is currently on hold, and possibly cancelled, due to Google sheet limitations.
I created a Hearthstone spreadsheet for personal use and decided I might as well share it if anyone else is interested. The spreadsheet is meant to be used by syncing with your HSReplay collection. (You can still input data manually if desired.)
Link: Hearthstone & You (v3.72)
You will need a Google account to be able to make changes! Log on your account, then go to "File" > "Make a copy...". This will create a personal copy for you that you can edit. (Don't forget to bookmark your personal copy for easy access.)
How it works:
- You will need to setup the auto sync with HSReplay on the 'Quick Overview' sheet. When setup correctly it will automatically retrieve your card collection. (It can take a while to load everything though.)
- After the data has been retrieved from HSReplay, you can check the 'My Collection' sheet to look at your card collection. (Alternatively there are several hidden sheets that show each class + neutrals seperately if you prefer.)
- If you want to order your card lists differently, go to "Data" > "Named Ranges...", then select the appropriate range on your right. Once the range is highlighted, right-click on the selection and choose "Sort range...". A pop-up window appears, check the "Data has header row" option and choose which columns to sort by.
Notes:
- It's been designed on and for widescreen monitors.
- When first loading the spreadsheet it might take a few seconds to load due to all the data being imported from HSReplay.
- The cards are sorted by Class > Legal Format > Set # > Mana Cost > Card Name by default.
Features:
"User" sheets (Meant to be easy to read.)
- The "My Collection" sheet holds an overview of all the cards in your collection. If you have the max. playable copies for a card, the cell containing the card's name will turn green. Otherwise it will be red. (There are also hidden sheets that show each class + neutrals separately if you prefer.)
- Has an "Overview" sheet to setup syncronization with HSReplay. Also shows an overview of your Standard and Wild collection (# and % of missing cards/required dust) + each of the Standard sets + each Standard card by rarity.
- Has a "(P) Collection Summary" sheet showing the amount of playable cards seperated by card set & rarity, as well as totals. (Note: The information here is rendered in semi user-friendly way.)
- Has a "(P) Dust Calculation" sheet which contains all calculations regarding required dust for crafting seperated by card set & rarity, as well as totals. (Note: The information here is rendered in semi user-friendly way.)
"Behind the Scenes" sheets (Hidden by default, but can be viewed if wanted.)
- Has a "Card DB" sheet which acts as a database for all (collectible) cards. This holds all information of every card. The data was pulled straight from the Hearthstone client.
- Has a "DB Support" sheet which acts as a support for other sheets. (Holds no information worth viewing to a user.)
- Has a "HSReplay Import Data" sheet which holds all the raw data imported from HSReplay. (Holds no information worth viewing to a user.)
Known Issues:
- All of the uncraftable cards are still counted in the dust calculations, even though they can't be crafted/disenchanted. (To be fixed.... Maybe...)
- When using an order similar to the in-game order (Mana Cost > Card Name), there will be a few differences. This is caused by cards containing an apostrophe or dash in their name. In-game these symbols are ignored, but the spreadsheet will not and thus some cards might be reversed. (It would be quite cumbersome to change this, so I won't.)
- The dual- & tri-class cards are sorted in the Neutral list and thus appear there for the purposes of the collection summary/dust calculations, rather than under their specific classes. (Might change this later, but I'm not sure how yet.)
- Most of the image links in the Card DB are incomplete or not working. (Could be fixed in the future, but it's not very important to myself.)
- You can choose to mark a card as "Wanted" in your collection. This information was used in previous versions for probability calculations. I've decided to keep it for now, but it's not being used in calculations anymore.

2 days until launch, this will be fun. I have successfully avoided any spoilers/card reveals and will be opening all my packs totally blind.
Will pour myself a good whiskey and take my time opening packs. Legendaries will be extra exciting this way.
Anyone else doing this? Good luck with your packs everyone :D

Loomineyes posted a message on Addiction model = Hearthstone Business model?Posted in: General DiscussionCompanies should absolutely be held ethically responsible for their products and actions, why on Earth wouldn't they be. Especially in a world where they are spending billions of dollars on marketing and research, and understand exactly how to exploit our psychological/behaviour.
HS does it too because it has to compete with a thousand other things trying to win our attention. Things that don't have any scruples when it comes to taking advantage of our most base qualities.
It's not about making products undesirable, it's about regulation. The cigarette companies were happy to market to youths in hopes of getting them hooked early. The government didn't tell these companies to start making poop, and earwax tasting cigarettes, they regulated advertising. Such is an example of preventing an unethical business model from dialing it's agenda to 11.

Shadowrisen posted a message on We need to talk about itPosted in: General DiscussionThe pity timer is a hard and fast rule, Activision would be messing with the SEC regs if they don't fix any issues with that.
If you actually opened >40 packs and didn't get a legendary, report it and it will be addressed eventually.
If, on the other hand, you just gripe because you had an unlucky streak and butted up against the 40 pack limit a few times, therefore not getting as many legendaries as you think is "fair" in a certain amount of packs, sorry for your bad luck.
Also, I noticed the old "we shouldn't have to pay more than X for full product" trope rear its head in this post. I'm perfectly willing to pay the approximately $200 it takes to get a full set from packs, at least I am when I am gainfully employed. At those times, $200 is a trivial expense, and it's a better deal for me to spend the money than to disenchant older cards I'd like to keep. I spent all of 2019 and some of 2018 in a circumstance where I wasn't able to spend the money, so I went f2p for that period of time. Just make the call your situation will allow, and if you don't get the full set right off the bat, I'm very sorry.
Regardless, it would be nice if folks stop telling the rest of us how to spend disposable income.

Sherman1986 posted a message on Killbin or Kibler?Posted in: General DiscussionThe community in general like this two dudes a lot, yet their careers as Hearthstone streamers have a noticeable difference: Regis is on the spotlight since some time ago already, but Brian has almost always been there enjoying a very good reputation. If I had to choose one of them I will go for Kibler, mostly because I think he explains his thoughts and points of view pretty well and with great detail (more than any other streamer), something very important and not easy to do.
I had to admit that choosing one of them was not easy for me at first because I like their personalities a lot and, obviously, I would like to know other people's opinions and choices too.

Oh great! More cards that go with Libram Paladin. Face 10 in a row yesterday, Jesus it's boring to play against.

I'd say wild is a thing it grows slowly. I did worst against Mage (quest, secret) and Warlock (discard, highlander). I've been playing BigShaman.
Something you can do is play whatever deck you like in standard, until you've face different wild decks and see what you like the most! You can even twitch it a bit with whatever wild card you have/you can craft. I'd say this is the cheapeast way to use your dust.

Read somewhere that it was June 10

There was a leak about the possibility of next year being the "Year of the Phoenix"
3
I just checked and I din't have it... replace it with a Twisting Nether
2
Thanks mate, I used almost the same to every boss so far (got 2 to defeat still). I like that you added Valdris Felforge. Got him golden and he's been sitting there getting bored!

Haha lovely how this year turned out, right?
Complains or no complains, we are getting a whole forking pile of dragons yeeey!
1
Talk about plot twist...
2
Two golden from the bundles, a free one (gift from blizz) and one in the first 10 packs!

Hey, serious question here. I'm somewhat colorblind and usually have problems with telling Hunter and Druid spells apart.
Gift of the Wild is a Druid card, right?
The word Wild says Druid, but the art says Hunter...
