the imp makes up for the discard, turning them into an advantage even without the golem. so you can either imp + discard (same turn) or you can discard with golem in hand. youre probably not doing it like this (lilke playing malch imp on turn 1 is generally wrong)

TachiiDerp posted a message on [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30Posted in: [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30For people saying this is superior to standard Zoo, I'm not so sure. This deck is heavily dependent on having the Golem come out of a discard mechanic. However even in standard Zoo you have many moments where you're stuck with soulfires/doomguards and you end up discarding those instead of the card you want. The tempo generated *is* insane if it does work, but if you discard *any* other card you will be losing tempo. You're also more pidgeonholed to play the Imp if you happen to have a Librarian/Soulfire in hand, whereas an Argent/Possessed/Flame Imp in Zoo offers more flexibility depending on who you're facing.
Zoo only loses if there's a board clear or a bad opening draw, it never really cared that much about generating card draws. This form of Warlock would also lose to board clear, and packs less punch late game due to leaving out PO + Knife -> Ritual in late game for more reach. Ironically I'd say this deck would run out of steam even quicker. You never want to be put in a situation in early turns where you end up drawing too many cards and end up with multiple Doomguards/Soulfire in your hands. You also never want to be in a situation where you're forced to play a golem because you have nothing better to play. Councilman/Juggles/Doge is also slightly worse without tentacles, while Villager is slightly worse without PO.
All in all people are attracted to newer forms of the same old stuff. This will be pretty popular since it behaves so similar to Zoo, and allows you to climb ladder like it's on crack, plus the feeling of novelty is a bonus. But I doubt it's as consistent as Zoo, tho it will no doubt perform just as well as Zoo because of its similarities. -

Zoo traditionally is best at outvalueing aggressive decks, it usually struggles against anti-aggro Control decks

SugarFreeLogic posted a message on [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30Posted in: [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30Well, with what I've been experiencing, it has the same weakness that zoo has, with control shaman, control warrior, and freeze mage simply kicking its ass. Heavy control seems to be its greatest weakness.

Woeden posted a message on [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30Posted in: [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30I'm seeing a lot of this in the current meta. Whats the best counter to this deck? I already have a golden warlock, looking to get my other golden heroes against this deck

KamikazeRaptor posted a message on [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30Posted in: [Legend #2] - Discolock Guide - S30Actually it does. Malchezaar's Imp draws cards for each one discarded by Deathwing before it dies.

I told myself i wouldn't play midrange shaman this season. I said i wouldn't sink this low... yet here i am, and I hate what I've become....

I'd argue that those coincide. The more a card gets played, the larger the hate group.

Their job is not to moderate your feelings. Whiners have a right to whine as much as you have the right to whine about the whiners.

I'd rather they continue to delay to actually give a quality product this time. The hype is real though and I haven't been excited over a Nintendo product in a while.

Huh, weird, never noticed you couldn't at least sort by.

60% of my matchups from rank 9-5 have been control warrior, this deck is a blessing. Thank you <3
