posted a message on Have you recently tried PVP in Mercenaries?

Yeah, Trigore is out of hand. It was "first damage only" for a reason. Unfortunately, it'll likely be this way for awhile since they tend not to make balance changes until incremental patches, so don't expect to see anything until 23.1 at the earliest.

Merce what? Sorry to tell, but that mode is dead already.

     This is not constructive.

You should be able to get Vanessa from packs once the track changes.

Also, I just NOW realized all of Xuen's tasks are 'Eye of the Tiger' lyrics.

posted a message on Wat do?

So, the "published" legendary rate in Mercenaries packs is "1 in 20". Well, that has decidedly not been my experience.
Ever since the pirates pack, I've strived to maintain a full mercenary collection with each new batch release. I lucked out and got Valeera within 8 packs, but since then, it took me 63 packs to get Balinda, 60 packs to get Long'xin and am currently 32 packs deep with neither Deathwing nor Drek'thar.. nowhere near "1 in 20".

I'm certain a new pack is going to be announced with the upcoming expansion, but I'm currently debating on what to do. Given that there's no pity timer to speak of, I understand it likely makes no difference whether I continue opening packs before the expansion or just wait until after (to get whatever new mercs they add), but it just -feels- wrong; that if I wait, then those 32 packs I already opened this batch feel "wasted".. like it's resetting some sort of counter if I don't pull Deathwing or Drek before the patch. So my head is telling me to just wait for the patch before opening any more packs, but my heart is screaming "suuuuuuuuunk coooooooooost!".

    Thoughts?

posted a message on Battlegrounds Lobby Legends: Raid Leaders - The First Official BG Tournament!

I'm curious as well, but mainly to see if it goes in the opposite direction, especially considering there are no bribes drops to entice people to let it run muted in the background watch.

I personally don't understand the appeal of Battlegrounds, playing OR watching, but different people like different things so who knows?

It's literally a powercreeped version of Unsleeping Soul, so it can hardly be considered the worst class card you've seen.

It's powercreeped by multiple factors, not a straight reprint.

posted a message on Mercenaries Mt. Rushmore

Which four mercenaries would you consider to be in a "Mt. Rushmore" of Mercenaries, as in being so iconic, useful or ubiquitous? Here's mine:

Balinda - Not only does she slide easily into any fire OR ice comp, she makes both better with her ability to apply elemental weakness and the ability to ramp up fire and ice damage as well. Even outside of fire/ice, the utility she brings with her water elemental is off the charts.

Cookie - What even needs to be said? The passive health from Appetizers makes him an auto-include in many comps even if he never leaves the bench and Go Fish has become a staple of trying to complete some of the more annoying tasks.

Chi-ji - New to the scene but an immediate game-changer with the heal power mechanic, I feel his full potential has yet to be even explored.

Cariel/Samuro/Xyrella - Yes, this is cheating by including three-in-one, but this three-headed monster is usually everyone' first main PvE AND PvP comp to the point that they've become inseparable in my mind.

posted a message on Preparing for Leeroy (March 22-April 5)

I went Balinda (water ele), Ragnaros (+fire) and Geddon (the one that gives more damage to his combo.. I'm horrible at remembering ability/equip names).

For dragons, I went Nefarian and Sinestra, because they're green and quite strong if you have them levelled, and waffled between Alexstrasza and Onyxia for the 3rd, since either of them spawn fire-related treasures (went with Onyxia because I need more coins for her and fore my own lore-related amusement [Sinestra is Nefarian and Onyxia's mother]).

The idea is to aim for treasures that give +fire and health to elementals on Bal/Rags/Geddon so that Bal's water ele can get at least two hits in on Kazakus to freeze lock him for two turns.

Nefarian can be very useful on the trash if you have him levelled. His first ability (where he attacks and summons a dragon that also attacks) can get ridiculous if you have his task 2 gear that gives the summoned dragon +attack and divine shield and if you pick up treasures along the way that gives dragons +attack.

On Kazakus, make sure you summon Balinda on the far right so her water ele doesn't get hit by cleaves.
