You already knew there were people who DO enjoy this mode, so this whole thread seems very trollish. It's not even like our individual opinions matter -- Blizzard will decide whether to support it based on how many people play it and how much money it makes.

What was the point of the event then? The hype for it gave the impression the event woud be the only way to obtain Chi-ji. Now anyone can get it.
So many complaints against Blizzard go like, "The hype gave the impression that ... " but when you ACTUALLY READ the articles instead of just skimming headlines, you find out that everything is happening exactly the way they said it would happen, or the converse -- that no promises had ever been made, despite people's wildly unfounded and off-base assumptions.
Also, Chi-Ji is a he, not a she as this article seems to think.

This post may give me like 10 penalty points (which is worst than german sanctions put on russia) or maybe ban - I don't care. We don't like politics in games. But this thing, I belive goes far beyond being a democrat or republican, pro-life or abortionist, traditionalist or LBGQT enthusiast. It's about pure evil that shakes this world nowadays. But to the point:
Vladimir Putin is lying to you. What you see in your TV is pure propaganda. Russia invaded Ukraine - there are no fasist or nazist in this country. It was only a pretext to start the war. It's not a "special operation" or "freedom mission".
Ukraine defends herself bravely.
Your troops are dying in thousands (around 12000 deaths at the moment of writing this post). They're short on food and fuel. And your soldiers commit terrible warcrimes:
1. They're bombing/shelling residential areas, hospitals and schools. Today they bombed children hospital in Mariupol and it's not the only one. Hospital stuff, mothers and newborn babies died.
2. They're killling civilians and children. They're bombing and they are puting mines in humanitarian corridors. There are pictures of a whole family killed on the streets. Pictures of parents crying above their 11 months old son's body. Film of russian tank destroying a civilan car with elder couple in it. A recorded phone call of a soldier calling his girlfriend and telling her how he stole a tv-set and kitchen blender and how he and his squad killed a group of unarmed civilans. In a forest with bags on their heads.
3. Your soldiers are plundering shops and homes. They are raping women. In Cherson they raped 11 women , 6 of them died. The youngest was 17 years old.
Because of the sanctions put on your country Russia will be bancrupt till May. Please open your eyes.

eventually they gonna have to bring some sort of dupe protection, otherwise packs will contain "nothing" (all coins for already maxed mers). I opened 52 packs 2 weeks ago and 34 of them (yes I counted) contained "nothing"
they add a few mercs every now and then. merc packs lose value with each new mercs get added.
the sad thing is, even though with months of complaints, they have seem to be not caring at all. all they say is "we're investigating" and nothing when it comes to making the gamemode actually better, but oh all the monetization you can think of is there.

So far I have been lucky. With the last few additions, I have been able to pull all the Mercs from packs. If I don't pull the legendary, I buy the cheapest bundle the includes it.
I really hate the pack experience in Mercenaries. When I open a normal Hearthstone pack, at worse I get 40 Dust. Not great, but something. I have some Mercs maxed out, so there have been times that I open a Mercenaries pack and only get coins for Mercs that I have maxed. As of now, I got NOTHING from the pack.
That is why I do not open any Mercenaries packs. Right now I am sitting on about 20 packs until the next Merc drop. Then I will have the best chances of getting the new Mercs. I HATE this system. Packs should be rewards not something that makes you feel bad for opening.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, and I agree with you, especially the issue with the legendary mercenaries.
Opening legendary mercenaries is even rarer than legendaries in Hearthstone itself, and is a bad experience.
One other thing I want to add is that grinding for legendary coins is just torture. I don't mind doing a long (heroic) bounty, but it feels bad if you don't get at least a few legendary coins for that mercenary in that bounty. It just feels like time wasted.

The MAX turn limit in PVE Bounties is 90 Turn
If the 90th turn happens and there are still enemies still alive, all your Mercs Explode. They also do not earn any experience, but you do get reward track EXP.

I bet its like the other secret achievements that reward another cardback which require another ridiculous set of puzzles that I'll never be able to solve on my own and mindlessly follow a step by step guide hoping not making any accidents while following because if I did it would reset the whole 20+ min process to add another cardback to my cardback collection with already 80+ cardbacks present. *exhales*

I love how the main reply here is "just play secrets! Good luck for the 7 other classes that don't have them!
..and again, really missing the point. OTK itself is shit gameplay, (and that's a whole other debate) but TURN 3-4 OTK, I don't care what class/deck you are, is simply indefensible (debate definition of indefensible; I don't mean it can't be countered) and a failure of design and balance.

Silence doesn't counter it in Wild. It's 40 -from hand- for 4 mana, unless you have a taunt out, in which case it's a measly 20. The only other counters are secrets (which not every class has) or a turn 3 coin + Okani.
..and again, not everything is about winrate.

You don't understand why people have a problem with a deck that either concedes on draw or deals 40 damage from hand on turn 4?
Not everyone cares about "free wins".. some people want to, yanno, actually play the game.

It's not about wins and losses.. its about a degenerate deck that's sucking all the potential fun out of the game.
If I win every single matchup against priest because they concede because of a bad draw, I'm not having fun because we're not actually playing the game.
..and starfish does jack-all in Wild where a switcheroo priest can do 40 damage FROM HAND on turn 4

simple solution would be to buff Noz himself. Drop his cost by one.. hell, by two! People start including him even more than 12 times a year

yeah, Chi-ji/Cookie/Ony is the obvious choice and what I did. Figuring it out wasn't the problem, it's just that this was a task that takes a minimum 80 turns under optimal conditions, but more realistically 120 turns and just shows an utter disrespect for the players' time.
Took 90 minutes to complete when the next task (deal 450 damage with dragons) took literally two encounters.
"Kill 40 enemies with Clear the Nest" or "summon 40 whelps" or even "Deal 200 damage in one turn 10 times" would've all been similar to this task and acceptable. I truly believe that the devs don't playtest their own tasks when they design these.
