They definitely are not needed. Fireheart and/or Vashj are there to give the deck a bit more reload, and if you don't have either Mana Tide Totem can fill that role.
I was just using that argument to show why I prefer playing Flametongue instead. I think Electra is great in the deck, but I still think Flametongue or Marshspawn (the cards I would be most likely to cut) are better.
If you want to run Electra, I would probably replace a Flametongue Totem with her. She is another nice source of reach, I just don't run her since she doesn't work well as an on-curve play.
If you don't have either I would say just save your dust. If you have both I would lean towards Electra, as you can usually get damage at a better rate than Leeroy. Also Electra can give you damage that goes over taunt, and is less of a dead card in early turns than Leeroy.
And it's no bother at all, I'm happy to see the interest!
Fungalmancer could definitely work, though this deck has the advantage of being able to use burn spells for reach while odd rogue and paladin are pretty much always relying on the board (hence the Fungalmancer as a curve-topper there).
That really means a lot to me, thanks for the support :)
Hey you can check out the updates I made above! If you don't like Arcane Watcher, swapping them for Leeroy Jenkins and Loatheb wouldn't be a bad idea, though I personally am not a fan of playing 5-drops in the deck. Bringing back the Mana Tide Totem and/or Earth Shock is another option.
Glad you've been enjoying the deck so much, I certainly think it breaks the norm of "brain-dead aggro". It has so many decisions! Keep your future turns in mind for mulligan, overloading, and totem choices, and try to give your opponent's as few outs as possible. Some games you'll draw the wrong half of the deck, but sometimes the opponent will do the same!
I did try Electra Stormsurge in previous versions, and have been considering bringing it back. I've been considering going down to one Mana Tide Totem, I would probably cut that before Lava Burst.
Don't be afraid to play her with just 4 or 5 mana. If you need to just get some stats on the board and don't have anything else to play, just getting 1 or 2 spells from her is still solid. Think of her like a Marshspawn that can get you more value if you desperately need it.
I'm definitely going to be adding Instructor Fireheart, I've been quite happy with Marshspawn and she's more flexible with potential for a lot of extra value. The other card I'm super excited about is Tour Guide. Another good turn one play that is also a totem (effectively) is exactly what I felt this deck needed. The cuts I plan for them are Lady Vashj and Voltaic Burst.
Cumulo-Maximus and Totem Goliath both feel too slow and clunky to me for this version of odd shaman unfortunately. I rely on this deck being able to put on pressure as soon as possible, and sitting with dead cards in the early turns makes games really tough.
I originally was running a single Lightning Storm instead of Lady Vashj, I just thought she was better vs control, though with more Demon Hunters around now, LS may be needed.
So I actually just trying cutting Lightning Storm for Lady Vashj tonight, and it felt quite good. I was playing a lot of priest and warlocks though, which is why I felt like the Lightning Storm wasn't necessary anymore.

It is indeed! Sorry for not getting back sooner, I wanted to test it out more and was definitely not disappointed.

Hey, this is a slightly more recent update of the deck that I took to legend this month:
I originally was running a single Lightning Storm instead of Lady Vashj, I just thought she was better vs control, though with more Demon Hunters around now, LS may be needed.

Wow, congrats! I'm glad you've found it so fun, and that's it's been able to help with your climb. Keep it up!

I would probably cut 1 Voltaic Burst and 1 Earth Shock for them. Flametongue Totem is another option to cut.
