posted a message on Is Scavenging Hyena an Issue for the Meta?

While I definitely think it's strong, and can be a bit annoying with how quickly it snowballs some games, I don't think it's too much of an issue. And I would guess that this is about as bad as it will get with Springpaw and Crackling Razormaw both in standard at the same time.

@TardisGreen: I think your advice is pretty solid for the most part, but this build of the deck doesn't want Jade Spirit due to Oaken Summons.

What you're running into seems to be a lack of planning. Once you learn what deck you're up against, you can plan and match your defensive cards to their offensive threats to properly react. For example, especially with how much removal you have in your deck, in the Renolock matchup, you might save both Poison Seeds to deal with his Guldan and N'Zoth boards. Of course there are times that you're forced to play one (hopefully not both) for some reason, but then plan ahead to set up for how to deal with the threat in a different way.

Fandral Staghelm can be a nice inclusion if you have him. Maybe Earthen Scales could help give you more survivability late game to close it out? I guess I don't exactly know what's making you not be able to close out the game if you're hitting fatigue and infinite jades.

posted a message on Reno Shudderwock Shaman

That's a tough one. Loatheb can help put a lot of pressure on your opponent, both when it's played and from Shudderwock which is a pretty common setup for lethal in a control matchup. Sneed's Old Shredder could be a decent replacement for that having a ton of sticky value as well as Cairne Bloodhoof or even White Eyes. Also, I just cut if from the deck, but you could keep the Fireguard Destroyer as another card to push aggressively. Another option could be Feugen and Stalagg, but if you don't have Loatheb, I'm guessing you don't have them.

Loatheb also can be a nice stall against combo decks. For that purpose, you could include a Nerubian Unraveler which could be nice to have in some cases as a prolonged stall.

posted a message on top 3 meta decks are paladin decks, great job blizzard

Well, according to Tempostorm, Secret Paladin is tier 2 and Odd and Even Paladin are tier 3 (not completely sure to what extent I agree with that ranking though).

You could put in 2x Circle of Healing with 2x Auchenai Soulpriest [/card]  or 2x [card]Wild Pyromancer. Firetree Witchdoctor could also be a decent inclusion. If you include the Pyros, Acolyte of Pain would be a better draw card than Loot Hoarders. Regardless, the Dark Iron Dwarf should likely get cut since it doesn't seem to help you out much with what you're trying to do. You probably don't need 2 Faceless Manipulators as well.

posted a message on An easy way to test Baku is the problem

Odd Warlock and Odd Shaman might have something to say about that. But even excluding those decks, I don't think it would work out the way you think. Some non-Baku decks (like Control Shaman) have better win rate against most Baku decks (Odd Paladin, Odd Rogue) than non Baku decks (Mechc'thun Druid). Also, some of the more polarizing matchups are between Baku decks (Odd Rogue vs Odd Warrior). Overall, it comes down to what archetypes have better matchups against each other, not specifically if it's a Baku deck or not. So sure, Baku is strong but I don't think that going about proving it in that way is the way to do it. Anyway, I think Blizzard already knows that Baku is strong.

Edit: Also, if the real reason for this thread is that you're tired of losing to Baku decks, I bet you could make some Taunt Warrior deck that would beat most of them.

posted a message on Sticky Paladin: An aggro Paladin idea

Hello! I had an idea I wanted to try out that I hadn't seen anyone else play. The basic idea of the deck is to continually have a board that sticks to threaten your opponent through a bunch of buffs. The deck makes use of a lot a variety of mechs with deathrattles so the threat of magnetic mechs is always there as well as other buffs such as Blessing of Kings and Funglemancer. To top it off, once a board has been established, drop a Skelemancer to deter any AOE and finish your opponent off, or at least that's the idea. I've only played the deck in casual so far, but I'm considering trying it out on ladder (I'm currently at rank 6 so it's a little risky).

Anyway, I just wanted to put the deck out there if anyone wants to try it out. Any questions or feedback are most welcome.

    Sticky Paladin
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (22) Ability (6) Weapon (2)
    Loading Collection

Edit: Decided to try it out on ladder and won 4 straight to hit rank 5. Will update again how it fares going forward.

Edit 2: Went 10-9 on ladder. Basically the deck lacks a way to deal a few damage to minions to prevent snowballs.

So Shadow Reaper Anduin has been around for a year and a half. What OTK decks did Priest have that used mind blast for the other year and a half of the three years you say that it has been oppressive? I don't remember anything common or viable before KotFT.

Shaw is quite powerful and sees play consistently in at least Deathrattle Hunter. I would suggest keeping him. I bet he'd even be decent in a midrange deck.

posted a message on How to beat Big Priest

So transform effects are the best option, followed by adding weak minions to their res pool. A few class specific cards that are great are Sap/Vanish (as mentioned above) and Potion of Madness. From the perspective of a control deck, when you know you can't out tempo them and force a win, there are a few tactical things you can do to not get blown out by Barnes. Only kill what Barnes summons if you kill Barnes as well as it makes two big minions the next turn less likely. Of course if the minion Barnes pulls Y'Sharaaj, you'll need to deal with it or you're screwed but otherwise even just leaving the Rag can be fine sometimes. To truly prevent the resurrections though, you need to have a clear board so they can't trade the 1/1 in. Then you can both play your bigger threats later in the game when the impact is more even.

posted a message on The Pepper Thread - Share your good vibes!

Story time: Just played a game against a Mill Rogue with my Reno Shaman. My deck is pretty slow, but does have some decent tempo plays to pressure the Rogue. However Vanish hurts a lot and he goes crazy with milling with coin Spirit of the Shark on 3 into a Coldlight on 4 (luckily no Shadowstep then though. However he then shuffles 9 Coldlights into his deck, so there's no way i can get lucky and Dirty Rat the second one. So my game plan becomes pressure on board, play Loatheb -> N'Zoth -> Shudderwock for a big board that can't get vanished and hope he plays Valeera before that, but he mills my Loatheb. So I have no deck and he Vanishes my board, but he is low. I play N'zoth to get back a decent board. By Vanishing though, he has 10 cards and mills Valeera. After double Healbot by him, I have perfect lethal.

TLDR: Won with Control Shaman against Mill Rogue thanks to them milling themself.
