Skyi101 posted a message on Revamping the Warlock quest:Posted in: Fan CreationsLove the concept. It doesn't really open up new types of decks so much as make control lock fully viable in the un'goro standard meta. (Which I'm totally for!)
Even if the quest was a late game completion the lock has the ability to heal, for a lot as other responses have noted. Which, is fine if the quest has a more challenging objective to warrant such a powerful reward.
Overall great idea just needs some fine tuning. Change the objective to make it have deck based requirement that requires effort to achieve, or something risky like put your hero below 10hp (since locks have lots of ways to control damage to their own face this would be awesome, since it would be high skill and matchup dependant when you'd want to force the quest as the lock player). And then maybe make the reward a spell that has heal/board clear instead of a minion, cause the irony would be so gooooood and it would synergize with 10 health, with agro it would allow you to swing the game back the next turn and late game control you could save the reward for later.
The above suggestion could even allow a certain giant to be playable again. XD

Splintrax posted a message on Un'Goro Jade RoguePosted in: Un'Goro Jade RogueThis deck is great even for pure entertainment value, Having that pause by your opponent after you pass a turn where you had a Umbra into a moat lurker on a swarmer is bloody glorious.

This could have an absolutely brutal curve if you play it with Coin on turn 4 after dropping an Apotheosis on your 2-drop on turn 3. It won't happen often, but that likely ends most aggro matchups. This card could be really scary if there is a decent 3/4-drop with natural lifesteal, and some good tempo tools.

This is probably the strongest tech card they've ever released. It lets you know exactly which secrets they have in play, while stealing a potentially ridiculous amount of value--for example if the opponent has a Rigged Faire Game and Counterspell out and you play this, it steals 6 mana and 2 draws worth of value from the opponent, and you still get a decently statted body to keep up tempo. It also has hilarious interaction with Freezing Trap, as it can attack to bounce itself back to your hand.

This is actually significantly more powerful than people are thinking, simply because replacing your hero power refreshes it. For example, on turn 3, you can hero power to get your dagger and attack, then play this to replace your hero power and cast that new power for free. Then, next turn, you can cast the free hero power and attack to use the final charge of your dagger, which gives you the option to re-equip that turn.

Bombs are rotating, so they won't share the same standard meta.

With how thing have gone so far with Demon Hunter, watch them print a 4-drop with deathrattle: "draw 3 cards, discount them all by 2, gain 5 attack and lifesteal this round." Almost not sarcastic...

This needs a lot of support to be viable, but that payoff is absolutely insane. It's a 10/10 that Pyroblasts them in the face and clears their board, which is just going to end the game in a lot of matchups (eg. good luck killing this with a Druid in the new core set landscape, Swipe and Wrath are gone).

If this activates Inspire effects, it could lead to some hilarious combos if that mechanic reenters standard through a core set. For example, you could play this with Dalaran Aspirant to make your own Malygos.

Well, I've just found the first card to be nerfed in the new set. It's a Spiteful Summoner that only hits your largest spell (thus you can play a normal deck with smaller spells), that also draws the spell and is +2/+2 larger, all for 2 extra mana. This is particularly crazy in Druid and Mage, both of which have powerful 8 and 10 cost spells that can maximize the value from this. Of the two, it's easily best in Druid, as 8 mana for them is closer to 5-6 mana for other classes and this could create a MASSIVE tempo swing.

If you want people to just concede, try Marrowslicer + Aldrachi Warblades + Twin Slice + Chaos Strike.
