Gotta love all the professional players in this thread talking about the card face value without taking into account all of the other just-revealed cards.
Even if they weren't revealed along with this one, when was the last time rating the card in such a way ended well?
Not a pro by any means, but given how late game this is - you'll maybe burn a few cards, but that's it.
It's only playable against control really, which also means that the opponent will most likely have a big hand already as the draw is very steady.
So yeah, even if you fatigue the opponent much earlier and burn, say, 7 cards - it still may not even out the drawback of playing 5 sub-par 5-mana spells.
It's similar to Archbishop Benedictus in this matter - it may look cray af at the first sight, but comes out as mediocre (at most) in the actual analysis.
But hey, Princes from KoFT were laughed at and look at them now.
With no option for 60 packs, and now checking the Blizzard shop - prices are identical
Is there something I am missing here? Hearthstone packs only cheaper in game client on PC ?
In both cases, Apple and Google, you're buying packs through the respective app store (Apple App Store/Google Play Store).
This way both companies can take a cut from your purchase, simple. What is worse, app developers can't even bypass those requirements - so you either live on the platform and share income from in-app purchases with Google/Apple or do not publish an app at all.
In case of PC/Mac - packs are bought directly from Blizzard, so it's the best deal (unless you like Amazon Coins).
Wait and open packs, you are guaranteed to get the rest later on.
Yeah, I already opened all the packs that I was going to open this expansion and just wanted to try some new decks. Also what do you mean by we're guaranteed to get the rest later on?
Basically, due to "no duplicate legendaries" policy Blizzard adopted with KoFT and beyond, at some point you will have all the legendaries of the given set, provided you've bought enough packs.
KofT has 23 legendaries, so assuming you're extremely unlucky you will get all of those after 920 packs (pity timer breakpoints). Realistically, it's gonna take probably around 500 and that's counting only those that drop from packs. If you take dust into account, I'm fairly sure 300-350 packs will have you set for the entire expansion (excl. golden cards) and every legendary you'd possibly want.
I'm not an expert by any means, but this can mean an infinite damage to the face for a few turns until your opponent gets a way to instakill the skeleton that comes out of it.
It's Turn 5, granted, but it can net you 4-6 face damage and AoE protection in the meantime. Even if they remove it and the 8/8 one - hey, they've just used 2 removals on one drop.
It definitely needs a slower meta, but we've seen A LOT of control tools in KoFT.

Get a +3 spell damage and permanent stealth passives.
Watch the entire dungeon melt.

Totem theme coming back, amazing! This is gonna be great in Wild, with Wicked Witchdoctor and Thunder Bluff Valiant.

I like it.
